Took my friend to an appointment and just know in advance you are required to book an appointment online otherwise you have to wait in the waiting room until they can see you. That is probably the only down side but today we got here, checked in, signed forms and were seen within minutes. Son went in and got a strep diagnosis. Was prescribed amoxicillin. We went to pick it up and thankfully was told by the pharmacist at Walgreens that it was an extremely high dose. Sure enough we called the pediatrician and she halved it! Said the dosage he was prescribed would have made him very sick. read more

Level of care depends on which doctor you see here. Visited once and was told my problem was one thing (it was not), and because of instructions I received at that visit suffered another week needlessly not taking otc meds for my affliction. Visited again and Dr. Schlottmann took the time to listen to me and all my symptoms. Offered me options with costs discussed up front since I don't have insurance, and didn't hassle me about options I declined. I was given complete care during this visit. The guy who took my blood was very professional (and handsome!) and very good at his job, not leaving a mark at all on my arm. I think his name was Brad. During my wait time in my room in the back, I was subjected to listening to one of the employees complain about her long hours and how she's never home, etc etc... And while I feel for her as a mom and get that, it was very unprofessional for her to discuss that within earshot of a patient. Nobody wants to hear that their caregiver doesn't really want to be there. Additionally, one of the tests I was told I needed was forgotten and I had to remind them to do it, then waited another half hour for it to happen, and had to come out of my room and remind them I was there. But once my nurse Carly realized what was going on, she got me taken care of and out of there in a hurry, even making sure my checkout was expedited quickly. I will say the clinic was very busy this day and most of the employees were a little stressed so I can understand. I was there just over 2 hours, half an hour waiting for lab results which is nobody's fault, but another half hour because they simply didn't communicate I needed that other test and was forgotten. All that being said, I would go there again. And if you've ever debated enrolling in their Healthy Savings program, do not hesitate to do so. It will pay for itself several times over in the discounts you receive for services. read more

I went to this clinic for a second opinion over the weekend when my health specialists were closed and thought that the practitioners here would be decent based on Google reviews. I was sadly mistaken. I will concede that the scheduling for my appointment was easily processed and I was able to wait at home until the practitioners were ready to see me. The ease of scheduling and seeing someone is the only service that this CareNow offers that merits a star. For the sake of brevity I will give a brief synopsis of my experience. 1.The Staff: -The medical assistant claimed to be an RN but was not RN certified -The medical assistant messed up taking my pulse and had to repeat the process 3 times because my pulse runs low due to regular cardio -Fabricated my responses to a pain threshold measure to the PA 2. The PA Shruti Desai -Did not establish a baseline: in short she did not establish a solid foundation of medical history and past complications for my symptoms, therefore she exercised gross negligence in trying to diagnose me. -Condescending and patronizing about the illness that I was going through. I spoke to her about my symptoms for less than 10 minutes before she started trying to rattle off very incoherent and irrelevant suggestions about the cause of illness. I have experienced these symptoms in the past after dehydration. She was trying to demonstrate a level of knowledge about my medical history that she had little experience or knowledge with. She came off as very innane and arrogant. In fact she and the DO had to pull up Internet search engines to look up specifics on my current medications and details on my medical history. -Falsified information to the D.O. about previous medical history and the context of my current illness which led to a misdiagnosis of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). DVT is a severe blod clot that causes intense pain and is most common in elderly people over 60, the obese, and pregnant women. I am a young male that is relatively in shape and hopefully not pregnant. -After misdiagnosing me, she tried to force me to go to an ER of the CareNow's affiliation. I refused as I have my own hospital that I seek care for during regular business hours. After a lengthy exchange she told me that I was not allowed to leave until I sign an AMA medical release form. This OPTIONAL form releases the health practitioner from all liability in the case of a patient injury as a result from deferring the practitioner's advice. I refused to sign because I was not willing to sign off on a liability waiver that misdiagnosed me. 3. The DO/"Medical Director" -Tried to salvage the situation but also did not let me leave until the AMA papers were signed -Seemed like a nice guy, but also seemed to lack knowledge and credibility when trying to discuss my symptoms and options with me -At the end very insincerely tried to get a "patient experience overview" from me before I left **This CareNow facility in effect illegally detained me in the patient room for 2 hours trying to force me to sign AMA papers. Shruti Desai told me that it was standard procedure for every patient to sign these forms and did not tell me my rights as a patient. It was not until I sought guidance from my family members with legal and medical experience to walk out, pay, and leave. The fact that this clinic, the PA, and the DO would detain someone with the right to leave and with a serious "DVT diagnosis" for at least 2 hours should show that they are only concerned about themselves and not the patient's well-being. Please beware of the practices of this CareNow. I would never recommend this clinic to anyone. If you ever do happen to be in a circumstance like I was, please know your rights. read more

After a night of continuous coughing, knowing it was are more allergy related than a cold or flu, I used online checkin after I got up. I had to, I was out of ammunition to treat myself. The callback and verification call didn't take very long, though I checked in before hours. They had me come in as soon as I could arrive, not being an emergency, I wasn't too worried with how many others were in the waiting area. The nurse took my vitals and collected other information, I have all information documented and just handed it to her. NOTE: This helps them immensely and they do not have to ask many questions. A little time later the PA came in and finished checking me and asking more specific questions and told me what I had and what prescriptions they were sending to my pharmacy. I went back to the waiting area and checked out. My investment in their program is a good investment and backup, so I do not have to wonder where to go when I cannot get my primary, especially when I am currently self pay. read more

I checked in online at 11:30 and received a phone call shortly stating it would be an hour and a half. I called at 1:30 (2 hours later). They told me to come in. I waited 20 min in the waiting room, was sent back and waited some more for a nurse. A few min later a lab tech came in to tell me I needed a glucose test. After the test she came in and told me I wasn't suppose to have the test. I waited 15 more in for a doctor. Once I saw the doctor I was given a shot and asked to wait 5 min. After that I was sent to the waiting room as they were printing papers for me. That took another 15 min. Just to print papers?? So, my journey started at 11:30 and I didn't leave until 3:20. This place needs to work on efficiency. I am very disappointed. read more

I have to be honest I always break out in a sweat when I have to go to a chain clinic. I was sick and pcp was unavailable so here we go. Used the online check in early, like 5:30 am early. They called at about 8:00 and 30 minutes later I was in a room. Angela Layton took very good care of me as did the rest of the staff. The front desk was nice and caring toward me. The front office staff (all but 1 person) was unprofessional and one girl even took a personal phone call while I was standing right in front of her to ask a question about the documents. I waited almost 2 hours for something that literally took less that 5 minutes. This is where I go when my regular doc is unavailable. I appreciate the on line check in, it saves you time waiting in the waiting room. When I went in on 12/23/18, the waiting room was full. They called me in at 645, informing me of a long wait. Check in was busy, but efficient. Dr. Schlottman was great, again, efficient. I was out by 9 pm, it was much more difficult to find a pharmacy to fill the rx! If you need urgent care, i reccomend this facility. read more

This review is for a number of office visits in March 2019 due to a traffic accident. I was sent to this clinic by my employer several hours after a moderately severe rear end collision (bobtail truck vs a Ford Fiesta sitting still) and once again I wasn't disappointed one bit. Granted I had my bell rung hard from this accident (concussion) and too many body parts being sore for 3 weeks or so I wasn't able to think clearly back then but now I have most of my mind back and wanted to send a follow up review. Folks this clinic IS one of the BETTER ones make no mistake simply from the experts that are employed at this location. Dr. Schlottmann once again proved to me to be worth more than his weight in gold and once again as always his office/medical staff is to be recognized as well. They again treated me like I was royalty even though I have seen Dr. S many times over the last 6 years. He was very concerned about my concussion/sprained neck problem and suggested several things of which stupid me refused in the beginning but after thinking about what he told me about while I was in a daze I did finally take his advice. Both Dr. S and Dr. McCoy saw me over about 2 weeks of office visits and my condition has improved somewhat but I'm still not 100% as before the accident. The medical Techs (Lisa, Brandon) were magnificent as they cared for me like I was part of their family so my hat goes off to them as well. I cannot ever thank this clinic's staff and ownership enough but just know that I am ever grateful to all of you for always being "on my side" when health issues crop up, no matter whom is at fault. I for one hope that I'm not ever involved in another extreme impact like what I experienced back in March but its a good feeling to know I have medical professionals close by I can see at most any time to help me out. I did an online check-in and a representative called within 15 minutes to verify my appointment. They did have a 2 hour wait ( which I expected ) no big deal. The guy actually called back about an hour and fifteen minutes later and said I could head to the clinic. The building is very clean and very nice. Staff was polite upon my arrival. The nurse was great and the doctor was amazing. I will be back for any weekend/after hours needs. read more

My husband went in on 5/10/18 for a pretty bad ear infection. He told the provider that he is a long history of middle ear problems and a high tolerance to medications. He was diagnosed with an outer ear infection and prescribed 600mg Ibuprofen and CiproDex ear drop (which is $130 after insurance...). The pain was so bad the ibuprofen did absolutely nothing for him and the CiproDex did not help AT ALL. We wasted $130. He was in so much pain he could not work for a week. Getting any more pain medication out of these people is hard work. Ibuprofen doesn't work well for pain as it is. They gave him Tylenol 3 with codine after multiple phone calls (by the way, don't bother calling in for a nurse, they never call back...each time I called, I had to call back AT LEAST once to get someone to ACTUALLY help me). He went back in last week because it wasn't getting better and was given an oral antibiotic because another provider determined he had an INNER ear infection...remember he told the provider he had problems with his inner ear at the last appointment and the CiproDex doesn't help INNER ear issues. He FINALLY started feeling better after the oral antibiotics but is now out and they are refusing to refill them saying he has to go in for a THIRD time. To top this off, he asked to be billed for the first 2 visits because they fell between his pay period which is a few days away still. We've spent $200 on medicine so needless to say, we don't have $230 for another visit (and yes, we have insurance but a very high deductible). They told him that he can't be seen unless he pays the balance in full today. That is $500 that we don't have because we haven't gotten paid yet and he told them that he gets paid on Thursday. So basically, he's screwed because they misdiagnosed him the first time and just gorged us for money. Horrible providers and horrible treatment. Obviously, the trust was lost in the first provider to begin with because they didn't listen to him. He's going to another urgent care today so his ear doesn't get worse. read more

I've used the services of this Care Now location (and their older location) in Hurst Texas for about the last 5 years or so and every time I come to this facility the good doctor and staff treat me like I'm royalty. Whether its something relatively simple like a strain/sprain or a more seasonal condition of mine like a Sinus infection Dr. Schlottmann and his medical assistants usually have the answers for my needs. The office staff is equally friendly and professional even coming from a younger group of personnel but they are well trained, caring and efficient. The facility is very clean and orderly and has a couple of TV screens for the little ones if you have to wait a few minutes in the lobby. They also have web check in which I used this last time and that too is quite convenient. These folks are genuinely interested in your situation and when you are not feeling well its a most comforting feeling to know these people ARE actually on your side. In the early years I visited without health insurance but now in later times they accepted my UHC coverage just fine. I had to visit again just the other day about an injury that I have been "babying" for the last 10 months (I had to delay seeking help this time due to worsening conditions of an elderly relative at home) and I was once again well treated by all the employees, even though they haven't seen me in a while. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility and staff for your medical needs as the professional assistance I've received from them over the years has never been wrong and I went on to fully recover from what was bothering me. If i could give zero stars i would this place does not care about your health. I take medication for deppression and anxiety and i dont have medical insurance due to my finances and i had explian this to them meny times over. The 1st dr i seen was dr. Christipher scholottman he actually told me there is no such thing as a chimecal imbalance so when i went back i asked for someone other than him i got karla higginbotham i believe and she was nice and very friendly she gave me a 3 month supply of my medication and i told her they normally give me a few refills to save money. She did not only 90 days i asked her about it and she told me to have the pharmacy i use to fax to get a refill. Long story short she didnt refill it so i called. The lady i spome with was very nice i let her know i was starting to go threw withdraw and i didnt have the 68 dollars to come in could she please have the dr. Do a f Refill. So basically the dr. Told her to tell me that i had to come in for a refill even tho i normally get 3 90 day supply from them. I cant stop crying and i cant even do my daily task right. Their system does not work. Twice this weekend I did web check in. You get no email or text confirmation that it has gone through. Both times I had my phone in my hand waiting for their call and both times they claimed they tried to reach me and couldn't--so I got pushed down in line. The only reason I even know is bc I called them. Otherwise I guess I would have been sitting waiting for their call all day. Why don't they text or email when they have both those forms of communication? Or try to call again? This last time they claim there was a busy signal (on my carol phone--and I hadn't made or received any other calls). Wasting my time read more

I am thankful for CareNow. I spend plenty on my medical care - especially for some cancer & followup care. Whatever the concerns about affordable health care - some of us STILL fall thru the cracks, even when we believe we have dotted all the i's & punched all the right buttons. I am relieved I can check in with CareNow to deal with the - literally - everyday misfortunes. read more

I have used web check in a few times before and they always call within 20 mins to confirm the web check in was successful (this is indicated on the confirmation page as well). It had been over an hour so i called and spoke to Tiffany and politely asked if the web check in was received on her end. She immediately scolded me for calling and said the web check in went through and she would call me when she had the time. She never asked for the patients name so I am pretty sure she just lied to me to get me off the phone. Obviously we wont be returning to this location and i definitely do not recommend this location to anyone. Customer service should be a huge priority especially in this field where you are dealing with sick or injured customers that have other options to take their business. read more

As this is an urgent care clinic, I went in for something urgent that didn't need to be seen at an ER and was too serious to wait for an appointment with my PCP. Dr Smith was excellent! As Healthcare worker myself, I appreciated his bedside manner, his explanation of the course of treatment and what to expect over the next week or so. At a followup a few days later, he had the exact same respectful bedside manner and approach to care as before. I will for sure be back! And the Web check in is a wonderfull way for me to wait without having to physically be in the waiting room!!! read more

Last night my daughter, cut her finger, while trying to cut up a watermelon. When we got there, the treatment and attention we got were good. Since it was a Sunday night and we got there 30 minutes before closing, the staff were good. My daughter ended up having stiches and the doctor that did them, was new, so it took longer, however I'd rather have them careful and making sure than trying to rush. We were advised to return the next day to have the stiches check and rewrapped. My daughter did the online check in, they called us in about two hours later, we went, then we sat in the waiting room for 45-50 minutes waiting to be seen, we get called, they checked vitals and then put us in a room to wait for doctor. 45-50 min. later the doctor came in, check on her finger answered some questions we had and then told us the nurse would be in to clean the wound and rewrap. We waited for another hour before the nurse came in and then she was unaware that the stiches and her finger needed to be cleaned, she left again and came back, cleaned the finger, put a band-aide on and we left. total time for a follow up visit on stiches.....3hours. That is unacceptable!!! read more
