I just lost an hour of my day here. I messed up and realized that I am out of my anti-seizure med that I take for Epilepsy. I had no problem doing the call ahead and being told they would be waiting for me with a room. The LVN was nice as were the office staff. I have had nothing but good experiences here. I started a new job with no sick time and no vacation time. So, I've had to come to Care Now because I can't take off work. The doctors here have taken up and cared for me as if I had been their patient for years. Superb alternative to the chaos of the hospital ER for minor emergencies! A few years back, I used the Grapevine CareNow to take care of a serious bronchitis problem and aside from the wait, the experience was very good. So when I recently shattered my arm in a sports accident, I decided to give the Lewisville location a shot. This time I decided to use their web check-in which allows you to wait at home until they're ready to see you. I had only been waiting a half-hour when the receptionist called back and said a room was ready, so I zipped right in and filled out a few forms and after about a fifteen minute wait, I got ushered into an exam room where a nurse took my vitals and assesssed my busted arm. From there, I did have to wait a bit until the doctor could see me but it was worth it. I drew Dr. McCoy on this visit and she was fantastic. Very patient and and a refreshing change from a lot of the docs I've had as she actually listened to my symptoms which allowed for an accurate diagnosis after x-rays were taken. Great sense of humor as well. So, after she determined the arm was broken, she fitted me with a splint and told me to follow up with an orthopedic doc to have it put in a cast. They also said they would follow up and refer me to one if I wanted but because the pain was so intense, I decided to get one on my own right away. Still, it was nice to get a phone call the next day and have someone ask how I was progressing. To summarize, the visit coudn't have been much better. There was a bit of a wait to get x-rays and have the doc look at them but the staff was very apologetic and said they were short-handed on that day. No big deal as I've waited far longer in the ER and suffered through much more impersonal service, not to mention exponentially higher costs! No issues at all accepting my insurance (BC/BS).The nurses and front desk people were also stellar and engaging and got the job done. The only thing that kind of annoyed me was the TV in the exam room rolling a kiddie movie at high volume, but while I was waiting, I foraged around the drawers and found the remote to kill it. LOL. I've been coming here a lot lately and I'm impressed. I always do the web check-in so I don't have to wait there. They call me pretty quickly to come in. I have TRICARE so I never have to pay a copay. The staff is very friendly. The doctors there are great as well. I always have them send my prescription to the pharmacy and there's never any issues. I am currently positive for Covid 19 and am experiencing tremendous muscle spasms that are not allowing me to sleep. I called care now for a virtual visit and explained my issue, I was immediately met with, "if you're feeling that bad, you need to go to the ER, we can't help you". As someone who works in the hospital, I can assure you that the last thing an ER needs right now is someone covid positive coming in for back pain needing a muscle relaxer and taking up room in the ER and vital PPE and cleaning supplies. I would not recommend coming here for COVID lab testing. We were promised results in 4 days (which is already slow compared to other places), but 4 days have come and gone and still no results. I've called multiple times and no one even picks up the phone, so I feel like I wasted my time and money and should not have even gone through the trouble of being tested. read more

def better than 1st choice. went here for workers comp and each time i was here for about 2hrs. not super fast but better than the hospital and workers comp cases have lots of paperwork. i like that its not just emergency care. ive been here when patient come in who are simply ill and need treatment. the reception staff is very friendly and helpful. and take the time to explain what you're filling out and why. doctors are professional and nursing staff is always great. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced at a CareNow. I went online to set up an appointment because I believe I may have the flu. I received a call shortly after stating that I could come in an hour. An hour later I got my actual call to come in and I did. Upon arrival, I began to fill the forms given to me and the lady at the front desk told me the wait would be over an hour and a half (which would be after close). I asked her what was the point of the online check in (which literally states that it reserves your spot in line) and she proceeded to tell me "how a CareNow facility works" in a very condescending fashion. I just wanted to understand, seeing as this was not my first time at a CareNow facility and was called in a few minutes before the physician was ready to see me every other time. I already felt horrible when standing or sitting upright and felt it best to just go home and lay down. Literally five minutes after leaving I get a call saying my room is ready if I want to come back. What?!?! You just lectured me about how your business works and how there are many people ahead of me. Either she was lying or not properly informed on the matter (that's on top of her asking me the same exact insurance question 3 times). Either way, I wouldn't place my health in these peoples hands. I rarely write reviews but this one cost me a pretty penny. I went to care now and was told to see a doctor would be $170. Steep, but I was desperate for immediate medical attention. I was told the test that was to be ran would be $12, it was $80! I walked out paying $250 but hopeful I would get better. Of no fault of their own, the antibiotics I was given were not effective. I called back to see what my next course of action was. I was told by the doctor that if the pills didn't work, due to the number of things that could have been wrong, to come back and they'd get me set up on a new antibiotic. Well that would have been great if I wasn't going to be charged another $170! It had been 8 days since I had been to there so I understood some what but then I asked if I could at least have my test results from when I was there previously. I was told it would take 3 days, it had been 8 and no one called me. She said she would leave a note and then hung up. Of course no one ever called me back because she didn't even ask for my name. I get it's a business but I paid for a service and can't even get my test results back. This office was amazing!! I was having trouble breathing and my body hurt so bad on Tuesday. The staff were so very kind, the doctor did everything he could before sending me off to the ER. Unfortunately I got a false negative on my flu test and end up positive for flu type A 2 days later when I went to my primary care because I wasn't getting better. That of course was not their fault. i work at an animal clinic and got bit real bad by this cat so i came to get it looked at, my hand was swelling up minute by minute and i was losing function in my hand. The first doctor i saw, i don't remember his name but he came in and all he did was glance at my hand and start telling me about this UPS guy that was in before me that got bit by a dog ... WHAT?! i don't care that someone else got bit i care about my hand THAT I CANT USE AT THE MOMENT - i don't know what made him think i gave a crap about that but to me that just set me off. anyways, after he was done telling me this story i didn't even need to hear in the first place all he says is "the cat hit a vain in ur hand but i'll prescribe you some meds and you'll be fine" To me that was just really unprofessional he didn't look at the cuts, which were deep and gushing blood, didn't ask how i was feeling (i felt like i was going to pass out any minute) i'm just really unhappy with that doctor and also the nurses have such bad attitudes. if you don't like your job then get a new one. simple. don't have to make me feel like i'm bothering you for help even though that's what U WORK AT CARENOW FOR! to help people. i have so much more to say but you get my point. read more

I came in on a Wednesday morning and got tested positive for strep throat and got a prescription. No big complaints there. Thursday morning I wake up with a rash all over my body from a reaction to the antibiotic I received. I immediately call carenow back requesting a different abx. I was told I could come in but that I'd be charged for a whole new office visit (which I think is unethical if it's a reaction from the med they gave me). Instead I just wanted a new one called in for me. I called 5 times that day and kept getting blown off saying the doctor would get to it but he never did. I went 24 hours without any abx for my strep. Finally Friday morning I call again twice before they call something in. Talk about negligence.. just makes you feel like they don't care about their patients' health and wellbeing read more

Time suck!!! I get it that places like this are notorious for time. I was there for 2.5 hrs! Craziest part was once the doctor decided on RX...she left. I waited another 30 mins for the nurse to bring in the script. Why? Then...I'm asked to wait up front to be caked up to check out. Huh?!?! I brought my daughter in with a severe migraine with vision issues and vomiting. We were told there would be a one hour wait and so we had no choice and decided to wait it out. We were quickly put in a room so my daughter could lay down and be in a dark room. 2 HOURs later she is still laying in pain and hasn't even seen a doctor. I have never been more frustrated in my life. I called the office at 9AM, asking if I needed to make an appointment and the office said no because there was no wait. I get there at around 9:15AM and there's were two people ahead of me, which I thought I could handle. However, I waited over an hour just to get into an examination room, and then about another thirty minutes for the doctor to finally do my sports physical evaluation. When I finished, I asked the reception desk for a doctor's note so I could return to school, and it took yet another thirty minutes for them to simply print out a paper. We waited over 3 hours to go in for a possible broken thumb. My husband took my son in and waited over 2 hours for the X-ray to be done and over another hour and no one came in the room so they left. The next morning I called and the nurse was barely intelligible on the phone and offered no apology. The only explanation was "yeah we have only one nurse and one doctor at this location." This is probably the case and not the staffs fault. It is the business model at fault. This is not the solution to keeping people out of the ED. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. They argued with me about paying in full for my visit even though my insurance clearly states I owe $0 for urgent care copay. I ended up paying just so I could see a doctor. They did this in January as well and it took almost 2.5 months for them to refund my money to me. This is my 3rd time getting bronchitis during my pregnancy. I could feel it coming on so I tried to get in early and get an antibiotic so I wouldn't get too sick. The doctor refused to give me any medicine and told me to stand in steam from a hot shower and put Vicks on my chest. I told the doctor I got antibiotics in January from them when I had the exact same symptoms and she shrugged it off and said she wasn't going to give me anything. She diagnosed me with allergies and told me to be on my way. I have asthma so I don't mess around when it comes to my breathing. I called the next morning and told them it had gotten worse and they pushed me off and told me to go to an ER instead. All I needed was some amoxicillin like I had gotten last time...thank God my OB called it in for me. CareNow was the biggest waste of my time and money. read more

Then, i waited for not one, but three hours in a room by myself with absolutely nothing happening. Then I watched a nurse try to put a brace on my ankle, notice I said TRY. I'm sick... which is why I came here on a weekend to get Medicine. Staff was nice. Problem is doctor diagnosed me with an upper respiratory infection and sinus infection. Yet he won't write me a prescription for antibiotics for another 6 days. Says because it's viral, my body should be able to fight it off. But if not, I have a prescription to fill in another 6 days. Are you kidding me? I came here to get something to help kick this because I have a life. Wasted an entire afternoon calling back the clinic, getting a different doc to approve this. Then go to the pharmacy, only to reassure them, they can in fact fill it, they then have to get approval from the clinic. Then a manager. Literally an all afternoon ordeal. Ridiculous. It's antibiotics. Not drugs, not crazy painkillers. Antibiotics. It's not difficult. He was nice, but come on man. This is why I came to you.... help a girl out. This was my first time going to CareNow. I'll admit I don't care much for dr's (nurses, different story). I went in for allergic rhinitis. I was extremely impressed with the staff and Dr. McCoy. From the first minute I walked in, nothing but kindness and smiles. I really enjoyed Dr. McCoy a lot. She was very pleasant to deal with and genuinely seemed concerned for me - something I haven't experienced with a lot of dr's in my life. The nurses and front desk staff were wonderful kind people. Despite some of the negative reviews I read on google, this was a last resort in a reasonable price range. My daughter was in discomfort based on her syptoms. We have no insurance on her at the moment. Most offices we called would not treat her age bc she is under 13 years old. I'm so glad we came! Our nurse Jana and Dr Herzog were just totally great. The front desk was helpful and boy was she efficiently fast! Check in, check out. Low wait time in the lobby low wait time in the office. There were very little patients from what I could view so I'm sure this contributed to the service but overall just excellent. I'm grateful for their help. read more

I want to start off by saying the girls checking you in are great and very helpful. That's where it stops. Once you get to the back they treat you like an idiot. I wanted some simple blood work done but they REFUSED to do it even though it's part of their listed services. I was willing to pay full costs up front for what my insurance did or did not cover. The nurse and DR. Looked at me like I was asking them to kill their first born. If they do not do blood work, don't advertise it. The Dr was the most unprofessional person I ever met in my life. She actually asked me to leave the facility. I Went to Rapid Med about 5 miles away and my blood work has been collected and I will know results on Tuesday or Wednesday. They had no Medical idea why CareNow would refuse to do basic blood work. Need to change name to CARE NOT. Unless you want to say hello to some nice medical assistants, DO NOT GO HERE. After more than 10 days of deep coughing and hacking up a lot of disgusting congestion as well as being home from work for several days, I realized that I wasn't going to get over my upper respiratory infection any time soon without medical help. I scheduled an appointment online and was called to come in within 15 minutes. I had to fill out some paperwork when I got to the CareNow location and waited about 10-15 minutes to be taken to an exam room. The physician's assistant took temp, blood pressure, oxygen use, heart rate, medical history and notes about my current condition. Dr. Mccoy came in 2-3 minutes later. She looked into my nose, throat and ears, listened to my breathing, got more information about my symptoms and took careful notice of my concerns about previous medications. I really liked that Dr. Mccoy took time to do an exam (not just look at the chart and PA's notes) and listen. I left with a prescription for 5 days' of antibiotics that significantly helped with the awful gunk clogging my throat and chest. The whole appointment took about 45 minutes--less time than it took to get my prescription filled at CVS. The clinic is attractively furnished, clean and well-maintained. While waiting, there are screens that show family movies (Steve Martin's "Cheaper By the Dozen" that day), close-captioned so there's no noise. read more

My recent experience at Care Now in Lewisville could not have gone smoother. I used the web check in and my wait once my paperwork was completed was less than 10 minutes. The waiting room was full. I was seen by the nurse and the doctor, diagnosed and treated within 30 minutes. It was exactly the right treatment as my pain was gone within 2 days. Everyone was nice and friendly and the doctor called to check on me a couple days later. Great experience! read more

Thank goodness for these fine people and Dr. McCoy! They probably saved my life. They listened to me, when no other DR. would. They took into account all the strange things going on with me and found out what was wrong. They prescribed all the medication I would need and set up a follow up visit. This location can take care of most anything a family doctor can. Very kind and informative. I do not have insurance right now, not for another 30 days and I found Care Now to be very affordable.
