Be sure to web check-in so you can wait at home. Our wait time was over 2 hours at home and about 10-15 minutes in the actual lobby. There's a radiologist on site to take x-rays (which we needed) and that's a plus. Don't go in having the expectations that they'll remember you or greet you by name-it's more like an ER. One would hope that you would not need to visit a CareNow, bc if you do, it means you either have no doctor as of yet, or you are sick after hours. Boo Hiss! Word to the wise- the only way to get in quickly is by web check in. If you don't do web check-in, they basically look at you like you are crazy. The only time we got in quickly without web check in was when my husband was bleeding everywhere. Apparently blood moves you to the front of the line. Awful experience! Receptionist messed up with details landing us with a bill instead of copay. Said "I don't know, maybe I was busy" when asked why it happened that way! (For records sake we were the only ones in there and she was on her phone at the time). We didn't even receive services because as soon as we got there they transferred us to the ER for stitches. Complained to the manager Allison, who agreed we should not have been billed for anything. Told me a week or so later that she had sorted it and the bill was cancelled. Today was my third and final visit to this location. On two occasions (school physicals for which I used web check-in) I waited so I long I finally had to just leave without my children being seen. On another occasion I called ahead to see if they had the EKG equipment for my daughter's physical. I was told that they did, only to find out after a long wait that she would require a special pediatric EKG machine that they did not have (even though she is 5'7'' and 135 pounds). We went in on a Sunday afternoon. No long line. Only one other person in the waiting room and we were not in there more than 15 minutes. (There were other patients in the back). Dr Natesan was pleasant, kind, caring. We were out in less than an hour and have no complaints whatever. Did the web check in at 4:30 and showed up at 5:00 to wait in the parking lot sense I was passing by on my way home from work. Called at 6:00 to ask for an estimated wait time and was told they just needed to clear the lobby a bit and then they would call me. When 7:00 came and only 1 car left, I contemplated leaving, but I feel like crap so I decided to just go in and wait. I was pretty irritated to find there were only 6 people in the lobby (not exaggerating) with about 20 open seats. I let them know I had been waiting outside but would just wait inside sense they had plenty of open seats. Another hour passed and I only saw two people leave. I finally gave up and left just after 8:00 when I realized my pharmacy would likely be closed or minutes from closing by the time I got out of there, even if they called me right then. I could understand such a wait if the lobby was packed, but 3 hours with so few people coming and going is ridiculous. Checked in 1 hour before my son showed up at this Care Now location, but still had to wait 2 hours to be called back to a room. They told him 2 people ahead of him and then called 5 more people and still hadn't called him. After that he waited in the room some more before seeing the doctor. Ridiculous! Made a web check-in and was called to come in. After arriving maybe waited 20 mins to be called in. Once in the room was checked by the nurse and then waited 15 mins for the Dr to come in. Dr Natesan who was very nice and understanding to my health. Addressed my health concern and provided the information I needed. This is the worst and poor excuse of a health care facility. They called my husband and told him his test results where in. He asked if I (his wife) can pick up the lab results since he was home sick on bed. He gave verbal permission since they are sealed they said they could give me to me. I went there and provided my ID to proof of who I am and all his identity information. They refuse to give it me the envelope. I call my husband and he again gave them permission over speaker phone. They proceeded to tell me no and I told them I am going to go back and pick up my husband and be right back. They said you coming back tonight. I said yes since we live down the street. We come back and it was 9:02 pm they had locked the doors and refused to open it. The office staff sat there shaking their heads no and laughing at us and refuse to open the door. My husband knocked and showed his ID and they still refused. We left and got pulled over by 5 McKinney Police officers saying they called the cops statimg we were banging on both doors which was not the case. These poor excuse for healthcare lake professionalism, empathy and duty. They could have just opened the door and gave my husband his results as he got out of bed sick to come get them. Now bothy husband and I are being pressed as criminally trust passing. So no he can't even get his test result. The staff is great but that's about it. If you need a prior authorization for your medications, or for any service in order for it to be covered by your insurance, they refuse to do it. I would have paid Zero dollars for my medication with a prior authorization to my insurance but they refused and said "we don't do PA's". They want to be your "Family Physician" but they won't do that simple task? No thanks. I work for HCA, the same company that owns Care Now, so we all have the same insurance too. They don't care if I have to pay $100 for medication or zero, so to me that means they don't really care in general whether or not I can even get it filled. Routine drug test with normal results took 2.5 hrs to finish, kept waiting between each time as assistant, nurse, and doctor came separately to do different parts. Why they couldn't try to do it at close to the same time, i don't know. Seemed understaffed, needs better communication with patient. read more

I when to Carenow do to the fact that my foot was infected and I was bearly abel to stand. The keep me waiting for over an hour and a half as people that came in after me were seen right away. Once I was seen they took off the badage that I had put on looked at it said that you need to go to the ER. I never saw a doctor when I was there. I asked if they could put a bandage over my foot being that it was leaking some kind of fluid all over. They said no they are just going to take it off once you get to the ER. Then they told me that is $163.00 for our srevice. I payed it. But I am still wanting to know what they did that was worth $163.00. My husband and I have been here about 3 times (we've tried to like this place bc it's so close to home) and every experience has been horrible. Their "check in online" is not convenient as well.
