Went in for a workers comp injury to my left hand/thumb. The nurse was great, but the doctor was a complete jerk, and that is being nice. After speaking with the nurse, I waited for the doctor. He came in (didn't even knock), leaned against the bed across from the chair I was sitting in, crossed his hands over his chest, and proceeded to tell me without even examining my hand that this wasn't a worker's comp case, and I needed to go see my primary care doctor. I began explaining how this injury started, and he tilted his head down and started rubbing his forehead, as if he has no interest in what I had to say. He then told me, again, that this wasn't a workers comp injury. I told him that he had formed an opinion before even coming in the room, and that he hasn't even examined me. He told me to move my thumb a few ways, while he was still standing across the room, and then told me, again, I needed to see my primary care doctor. I asked for his name, and he refused to give it to me, saying it would be on the paperwork. I asked what paperwork, since he didn't examine me, there shouldn't be any paperwork. At that point, I started to leave. He told me I had to stay in the room. I told him I didn't since I wasn't offered any care. He confronted me in the hallway asking if I was just going to leave. I told him I was, as he didn't offer any care whatsoever, had formed his opinion before walking into the examination room, then telling me I needed to go see my primary care doctor. I told him that he didn't even offer me care, even if it wasn't a workers comp injury. He responded that there were witnesses to my leaving. Big deal. Complete waste of time. read more

Go anywhere else but a CareNow. Especially this one. Sat in the examining room for 25 minutes after the nurse left. Had to go out and ask what the deal was. Staff had no sense of urgency or customer service skills. Doctor came in rather quickly after that. He had an attitude and misdiagnosed me. Gave me cough medicine for a sinus infection. Says that's what he uses. Needless to say it hasn't helped a bit. Hoping the antibiotic kicks in and works. I'll never step foot in a CareNow ever again. read more

Last night I called this clinic after their electronic check in lost my information (I had been to this clinic before). I spoke to a lady on the phone who was not enthusiastic about me calling at 8:50 at night. She confirmed they would see me if I could get there before 9. I roll in at 8:59 due to hitting a couple of stoplights. The door was locked. I catch the likely girl who answered the phone and waive, she flashes me a hand gesture that says "nope". I motioned I had called, she turned around and started talking to a colleague. I'm standing there in the rain, coughing uncontrollably, and basically stuck to figure out how to fix my situation. I get medicine has turned into a big corporate business along the lines of the cable and airline industry. However, in that moment a person had a choice to make, help this guy or send him on his way to figure it out. She chose to ignore a request from another person for medical help. Never in my life have I been made to feel like I was so undervalued as a human being. They say to never say never, but I will say it. I'll never set foot in this place again and make everyone who reads/shares this aware of my experience. Go elsewhere if you need help, this places simply does not care. read more

The wait was not too long and the front desk personnel and nurses were attentive and friendly, but the doctor was very odd. He would speak up and if you weren't paying attention, you would miss everything he had to say... Was challenging to hear him and wasn't sure if he was talking to me half the time or just himself...but he was nice enough and my daughter received proper care. read more

Had a great experience today. Web check in at 8 this morning and they called to say it would be an hour. Called me back right at an hour. Place was clean and everyone was nice. Was in and out in roughly 30 to 40 minutes. I have a sinus/respiratory infection and they gave me a shot and paperwork for antibiotics. I have gone to CareNow several times. They are always quick and efficient. I have never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time. I have done both the online registration and I have just walked in. The staff and doctors are caring and listen to your problem. They always have called me the next day or two to check to see how I am feeling. My husband and both my daughters have come to CareNow and have also always received excellent service and care. I highly recommend coming to CareNow. read more

I have been seeing Dr Berger at Care Now in McKinney for about 3 years now. She is awesome...very personable, caring and won't stop until you're better. I seem to get pneumonia every year. She knows what works with me and after a breathing treatment and an arsenal of meds, I'm in and out - I also like the Web check in, works great with my schedule. Another thing I like about her is that she's sensitive to costs. Care Now doesn't take my insurance so it's out of pocket when I go. I like the fact that she doesn't go crazy with ordering a multitude of expensive tests that are going to tell her what she already knows. At one visit, she personally called the pharmacist to try and find a cheaper alternative for a very expensive steroid inhaler. It's hard to find that kind of personal attention from a physician any more. If I could make her my Primary Care Provider, I would! read more

Absolutely worst Care place imaginable. Called up at 8am. Was told there's a 45 min wait time. Proceeded to do the web check in. Drove 30 mins from Howe to Mckinney to get checked out. Waited for 3 hours To finally get into the room to see the doctor just to wait even longer. Been going on 30 mins here in the room. Would not recommend this location at all. read more

Web registration/intake tool works very well. They will call you when ready to see you, eliminating long walk in wait times (relax at home the better alternative!). Doc's very thorough, I never feel rushed. Courteous and professional staff: nurses, tech's et al. Fees seem reasonable and smooth benefit integration with my insurer. Highly recommend when your primary care MD is booked up and you need help sooner than later. read more

My experience with this location is always positive. The location is busy, yes, but I do Web check-in and rarely have to wait more than 2-3 minutes once I arrive. This is also based on triage and I get that. If a child comes in with breathing problems and 104 temp, that child is going ahead of me. If Joe blow has a possible broken arm, he's next, above my chest cold. The staff is courteous, caring and worth more than they get paid to have to deal with entitled bubble people who don't understand what triage means. They are my primary care physicians, and that's that. I won't go anywhere else, even if it does cost me an extra sawbuck to go there with my insurance. read more

Terrible, terrible, terrible! Receptionist was extremely rude and dismissive. Bathroom smelled like cat urine. Just needed a workers comp referral after an ED MRI. ED physician said follow up with a spine surgeon ASAP. Unfortunately, workers comp requires a "treating physician" to issue the referral. So off to the CareNow we go. Explained to the PA the ED visit, shared the MRI report, and requested the recommended referral. After a teleconference with an offsite physician, PA Sam thought it would be a better idea to take a conservative approach, so he could be sure this wasn't a preexisting injury. What a complete crock of crap!!! Stay far away from this place. read more

Horrible!! I will never come here again. Did a Web check in at 4:17 and never received a call, so at 5:04 I call Melissa and she says she was just about to call me. Stated it is about a 2 to 2 1/2 hour wait. So at 6:30pm still nothing so I call back and she checks and says come on into the clinic. She checks me in and says they will call you back in a few minutes. So at 8:00 pm and still nothing she informs me that I should be called back next and that they had a trauma and had to take him back for a cut finger. So at 8:45 they call back 2 more people and I go and question her and she informs me that they had checked in on the Web ahead of me and makes up a time it seems. So eventually I was treated and left there by 10:00 pm. I had watched for 2 hours and 45 minutes and they had managed to take 3 patients back. I have been to other Care Now locations and always was a positive experience. First and last visit here for me. I could go to one of the busiest emergency rooms in the US and wait for less time. read more

I had to visit the place couple weeks ago. Web checked-in the night before - got call the next day in the morning and 5-10 mins after I arrived, I was seen by the doctor. No long wait time. Everyone was nice and spent with me enough time to explain all my questions. What was a REALLY NICE surprise - there was no bunch of paper work involved in check-in process. I remember other places - where I had to answer 10 pages of mostly useless questions before seeing the doc. In less than 40 mins I was in and out. The best was that I had to pay only $ 68 for an appointment as a Healthy Savings program member. It is really great program for people like me - with no health insurance benefits at work. More - as a Healthy Savings member I saved on prescriptions at CVS. read more

Tried to do a web check in, but not allowed for a school physical. Came in and the place was EMPTY! Waited for over an hour while the place filled up. When I inquired as to how much longer it'd be, was informed that they had an emergency (while all the employees stood around and talked) and that there was one person in front of us, so it'd be a bit longer. The receptionist said that they worked in physicals between patients....guess physicals aren't patients? The one person that went ahead of us was a web check in, who showed up thirty minutes after we did. Had time to download yelp after an hour wait and now working on the second hour of the wait. No wonder we all hate healthcare and insurance companies--no respect for anyone else's time or money. However, please note that Dr. Berger is excellent--that's why we go back. I did the web check in. They called me and said it would be a 2 hour wait. No problem. They called me at about 2.25 hours and said to come now. I got there in my allotted 20 minute window. I still waited another 30 minutes in the lobby and going on 20 minutes in the room without seeing the doctor. Going on 4 hours from start to finish. I think I should have just stayed home and hoped I felt better tomorrow! read more

WAY OVERPRICED! I recently went to care now for a physical. Because this is an ER they do not offer physicals on insurance plans and I had to pay cash for the service. I ended up paying $400 for a physical and biometric testing. This is the most I've ever paid for any medical service in recent years. The cost of the services went up over $100 from the time I checked into the time I checked out because the staff was unsure of what their cash prices were. Further when I went to go pick up the test results I was forced to fill out a HIPAA form to receive my own test results. I will never return to this Clinic ever. read more

I have YET to receive paperwork I requested in NOVEMBER. I have emailed and called both the corporate office and the mckinney office and I have YET to have five simple questions, of which would take five minutes of the doctor's time, answered. I have physically driven to the mckinney office twice, once during the ice over, to drop off the paperwork and my representative has emailed them the paperwork twice. I am not going to stop contacting the office until this is resolved. Does carenow believe I enjoy taking time out of my day every week to try and resolve this issue? Because I don't. Christina is now at the point to where she refuses to work on this issue with me although she never addressed it adequately in the first place. if she took the time to actually get the neccesary paperwork filed rather than spend ten minutes with me every week on the phone making up excuses, MAYBE the office would get something done. Carenow is treating their patients like cattle, one in, one out, done. Sorry, but doctor's offices sometimes also have to follow up, and how can you trust a doctor's office that is in so much of a rush that they can't adequately handle paperowkr in over 5 months of inquiry? I have even offered to pay the ridiculous 20 dollar fee they charge for paperwork. I'll consider taking this review down or changing it if my needs are met but they are far from being met and the public should know what they are getting into working with Carenow. And with the offices opening due to obamacare, there is competition in the market. carenow should be paying close attention to its patients, not handing them off in between offices like a batton. read more

Dr. Williamson embodies both empathy and professionalism in his approach. He also takes into account other factors specific to a patient (e.g. what we do for a living, speaking, lifting, etc.) as he provides the most expedient solution(s) to get them going again. I had bad experience with Dr. Ken Williamson. First of all, he didn't knock before coming in and my daughter was standing next to the door and he hit her and didn't even apologize. Second, he didn't care to ask me how I was doing, all he asked was "Whats your problem?" as soon as he came in. He just didn't seem to have a friendly demeanor like most doctors I've met. Maybe it had something to do with me being Muslim, or maybe he just didn't like his job, who knows. Also, I had already registered online before coming in and there was no wait time but when I came in I saw an older women checking in and they let her in before me even though I registered BEFORE her. I mean its not a big deal since it was only one person and I didn't have to wait too long but I've been to another Care Now location where I came in exactly 8:00am when they open and being told that I had to wait 1.5- 2 hours because 13 people had already registered online before me although I was there before them so I just assumed it works this way with all Care Now locations but apparently not at this location since they let this lady in before me even though I registered before coming in. On a positive note, the rest of the staff were pretty nice especially the nurse. read more

Dr Berger was great. However. Called in to see about a refill after being diagnosed with pneumonia. By this care now location. Was then treated like a drug addict. Also, some very basic knowledge was missing from these doctors. Pretty offensive and embarrassing really. The staff at CareNow are courteous and friendly. The nursing staff always take time to listen to why you are there and don't just rush out of the room. The convenience of scheduling on line from your home, is wonderful. You just get a call to say come on in, and then you are seen in no time. Doctor Berger is the best doctor there, she takes time to really listen and hear you and you feel like you matter. A lot of times a doctor seems to half listen then your time is up, but Doctor Berger isn't like that one bit. She is kind, patient, and understanding. Although CareNow is not a primary doctor facility, they still treat you with just as much importance. read more

I highly recommend using the CareNow clinic in McKinney if you need to see a physician. I've gone to CareNow on many occasions with my young daughter when her pediatrician is busy or closed. I only have a positive experience to report. I had 2 little ones sick and we did the web check-in from home. Got called a few minutes later to confirm and said there would be about an hour wait, but that I would get another call notifying me when to come to the office. Once I got the call, the kids were loaded up and we headed there. We probably waited about 25 minutes and were seen. Both the nurse and doctor were very sweet with my scared little ones. Especially Dr. HOANG HO had an excellent bedside manner with little kids. She was playful and asked my toddler if she could take the temperature and hear the heartbeat of my daughter's stuffed pink kitty cat, as she saw that my daughter was scared. My daughter let her...then let the doctor check her out as well. She was good with both kids and we walked out with a prescription for antibiotics and no tears! I would recommend this place; the web check-in is great if it's not a emergency. The staff was friendly. read more

Saw a doctor there who above all else wanted to tout her knowledge of medicine rather than listen to my concerns. She accused me of lying to her, being an alcoholic ( I rarely even drink at new years, much less any other time of the year, I was just in severe pain...) and falling down thus injuring myself. Long story short, I have a bulging disk in my lower lumbar causing the issues, but this doctor had no clue and simply wanted to argue. Had nothing to do with falling, or drinking alcohol. I sit in a chair for hours every day. That was the problem. read more
