Unethical billing practices and unprofessional care. I came to this clinic for treatment after a hand injury and was charged $98 at the time of service. When I returned to have the stitches removed, I asked if I owed anything further and was told no. Despite that, my card was later charged twice -- $180 and $36 on separate days -- without any notification or consent. When I called to dispute the charges, I was told my card had been stored and they could charge it for any insurance balance due. I was never informed of this, never consented, and was not shown any agreement. They also said they're planning to charge an additional $26 at a later date and were unable to provide a statement explaining the charges or what they were for. They claimed it would take 30 days to send documentation. As for the medical care -- it was equally troubling. The physician made several inappropriate comments about being "glad he wasn't a woman" because he didn't have to do dishes (how I got hurt), endure childbirth, or have periods. These comments were unprofessional and uncomfortable. I also was not prescribed antibiotics, and my wounds later became infected -- something that likely could have been avoided with proper care. This clinic lacks transparency, professionalism, and basic standards of medical ethics. I would not recommend them to anyone seeking quality care or honest billing practices. read more

I went in with a sinus infection 13 days ago. After spending all of 3 minutes asking questions I was given a prescription, billed and sent out the door. Still no better. I called asking for a different prescription but was told I needed to come in for another visit at an additional charge. I guess we'll keep this cycle going until we get lucky. I was the only customer. Receptionist was efficient and nice ( I had done paperwork online), I told nurse or tech i needed an xray of my chest and he said the provider would decide. I told the Nurse Practitioner that saw me that my son was a doctor and wanted me to come there because they have an xray machine and i needed a chest xray. The NP listened to my chest, said I probably have a virus and prescribed amoxicillin! I asked if I was getting an xray. He said my lungs were clear and he wasn't recommending one. He sent me on with my prescriptions of amoxicillin and benzonatate, all within 5 minutes. My doctor son said "they don't know what their doing. Let's not go there again !" read more

Went in for a follow up to get scheduled for an orthopedic for my dislocated shoulder, all they did was send me to another location to be told I need to get scheduled for an orthopedic. Hardly any information from the dr, he seemed like he wanted to get me in and out, by the way there was only 1 other guest I saw when I was there. Dr busby, didn't seem to care about me and is just there for a check. The drs at Leon valley location were confused on why he didn't schedule me for an ortho , but they got one scheduled for me within the next day. Don't know why busby couldn't do that.... read more

I visited this location twice this week. The initial visit was for my flu like symptoms. The second was a follow up visit. I feel I was treated appropriately for my diagnosis. However, the staff i dealt with lack soft skills. The front desk and the LVNs who I encountered were cold, come across as uncaring unsympathetic. In my first visit, I was so sick and felt awful, the LVN was more concerned with collecting his data than assessing me. He didn't obtain my vitals until after he collected all his data and he never asked how I was feeling. In my folllow up visit, different staff, same cold, uncaring approach. When we checked in, I filled out a form that asks what my symptoms are, I wrote them down. When I was called back, the LVN asked me what my visit was for. It appears she did not read the information provided and again, she did not exhibit compassion, never asked if I was feeling better compared to my previous visit. The staff gives off a vibe like they r too busy for me. Both times, I was the only patient. They need to work on soft skills. Speaking and listening to their patients is part of caring. read more

We've been twice and both times the staff was so kind, thorough, and helpful. The nurse practitioner really takes her time to explain everything and make sure all of your questions are answered. Even though they take their time, the wait is never long. I broke my foot and the nurse made sure I had a follow up with a surgeon the next day, before I even left the office. Went there today had to use a dirty touch pad to start my registration. Then after that Given a pad form to fill out that had mostly covid symptoms. If there so worried about covid symptoms why you hand me a dirty iPad. Then was told I'd put a credit card and filed to hold $180 charge why insurance pays everything I left. This is the second time that we have visited this facility. The first time was for physicals for the kids athletic teams. This time, we were there because my daughter injured her back while playing in a volleyball game. Although they were closer facilities, the wait times at those were all over 200 minutes. It was already 830 at night. Since I knew this place and knew that our insurance was taken, I decided to give them a shot. When I got there, they actually came out to the car to evaluate whether or not it was the right thing to see my daughter. They were concerned that she might need x-rays or an MRI. After a short triage, they determined that she could, in fact, be seen. We were taken right in after filling out the paperwork with Lisa at the front desk and seen by nurse Tina and Dana Cruz. They did a fabulous job. They made my daughter feel comfortable while making sure that they were establishing what was wrong. They treated her and sent us on our way. It was a great experience for an urgent care center. We will from this point forward be using this facility. read more

The dr was extremely rude. I told them I had a sinus infection so they tested me for COVID. When that test came back negative I was told to go home and rest. Doctor even told me that if I wanted antibiotics I should just go somewhere else. Wish i could score zero. We are visiting from out of state, staying with relatives. Daughter was confirmed with strep throat the previous weekend, I started feeling bad on monday evening. Went to the clinic to be tested. They have a nice system to check in on-line, supposedly to prevent long waits at the clinic. So I submitted the form. 2 hrs later no response so i drive over there. On the way i get a text "We saw you checked into CareNow Urgent Care - Bulverde Road but were not seen by a provider. Can you please let us know why?" One car in the parking lot, zero people waiting in the lobby, two people behind the counter. Nurse takes me back, we talk, she takes swabs for covid and strep. 15 min later a guy comes in, in a hurry. Tests are negative, go home take tylenol, take care of yourself. He starts to leave. Whoa dude. Tell me more. When should i come back, etc. Worthless person. I get home, look at the summary sheet they fave me. Diagnosis is: 1: contact with and exposure to covid. No, that's not what i said. 2: acute pharyngitis. I got a computerized survey later in the day, i responded with very low scores ... no follow up by a person. My sister in law is in town and is having really bad allergies and wanted to go get checked out and possibly get an antibiotic. The nurse was really nice and asked if she wanted a Covid test and my sister in law said no because she has her vaccine and she wasn't having any other symptoms. Well the nurse left the room and closed the door. Through the closed door she heard the nurse telling the doctor she didn't want to get tested and the doctor said in an extremely rude voice, "why doesn't she want the test??? These people have a lot to learn" and she continued talking trash about her before ever meeting her... and my sister in law heard everything... so the doctor came in the room and put on her fake face and asked why she didn't want the test and so she said, "I have allergies like this every year, I have my vaccine, and don't touch me because I heard every word you just said." And got up and left and the receptionist told her, "don't worry you don't have to pay your copay" which strengthens the fact that it's obvious the doctor was in the wrong. Had to be seen for an ear infection, sinus infection and conjunctivitis on 19 Oct 19. Very happy they were open at 0800 hours on a Saturday! I was impressed with the front office staff, Barbara and Veronica. Veronica, the medical assistant had to give me a steroid shot and I hardly felt a thing (very light touch). I was very impressed with NP Diana Dennis. NP Dennis actually spent "time" with me and "cared" how I felt and "showed" me by prescribing medications that have made me feel so much better. The facility is very clean and if I need to visit an urgent care again - I know this is the place I will go. NP Dennis' professionalism and expertise is refreshing and much appreciated. read more

I went in for COVID testing. Sat there for an hour and a half while they saw patients out of order, then when it was my turn, the nurse didn't write down everything accurately, like my weight and height, or what i wanted. I wanted to do the blood test so i could have my results quicker, and instead the doctor came in, extremely brusque, and did the nose swab, and said that i couldn't go back to work until i got my lab results back, which would be in 1-3 days, but that the call could be from an unknown number. Now it's 3 days later and any time i try to call, I'm left listening to the ringing for up to 16 minutes with intermittent interruptions of having to re-enter my option of wanting to speak to someone in the office. As someone who is immunocompromised, I have to be very careful with my health, and this place is a joke. Won't be coming back... especially since you can't get a hold of ANYONE read more

Went into this clinic and the team I was cared for on my first visit were nice. I received a call today and the doctor gave me false results. I asked to pick up my result and the receptionist was rude and nasty. Told me "the doctor already read you your results". First and foremost I have every right to physically see my results. Went to pick up my results the whole care team this day was rude and nasty to me. Violated my HIPPA rights because you are never to talk about a patients care when it's not in private. I have filed a complaint with the Board of Health. I guess the doctor thought I was stupid because when I picked up my test results, I literally seen a lab SHE told me was negative over the phone was "detected" on my results. She was nasty and extremely rude because she was wrong. Stay away from this clinic. The whole staff needs their licenses taken away. Some people actually work in the medical field so taking peoples money and insurance but not diagnosing them correctly is MALPRACTICE!!!! read more
