Their billing policy is just a con. The name of the place is URGENT CARE, however, it obviously doesnt mean that, it means, we will take your payment before we even see you, and then 5 days later we will send you a TEXT message with an additional amount DUE with NO, none, not a single explanation of what its for.... seriously... you want me to send money via text link for something I dont even know why your billing me extra for???? Nah... so I call, and low and behold after 30 minutes of run around from a computer automated service I talk to a human who says yeah, services are tiered and you payed base tier, but after seeing you, the dr determined that your care was more urgent, so you were bumped up to the next tier and that is 55 EXTRA DOLLARS. Got sick with a 103° fever on MLK day. I misplaced my insurance card so I just paid the full amount for service that day which was $180. They told me once I found my insurance card I could call back and get a refund from CareNow. So I found my card 2 days later and called and they said a refund would be processed in one month by a check in the mail. Who sends checks in the mail anymore? It's 2026. So they take my money by card the same day but they need a whole month to send the money back and it's by check so that if it gets lost in the mail they can avoid responsibility. Then a month goes by and still no check in the mail. I call the place and they say "Oh it looks like we have your money right here! We'll send it now and you should get the check in 7-10 days". So that tells me they never would have sent my money if I hadn't called and asked. I'm sure they hold on to people's money as long as they possibly can, counting on their customers to forget about the money. Not to mention the complete bill was $180 at the time of my visit, but raised to $574 when they found out I had insurance. Since it was the weekend I came here instead of the ER since my brother said the wait time was shorter than the ER. That part was true. You can check in online so when you get there you're already in que. It's clean and has a simple waiting room with a few chairs and T.V. They give you a tablet to complete the check in process. I like the idea, but I saw so many baby boomers having trouble filling it out. You have to take pictures of youre ID etc with the IPad. One patient sat the IPad down and stuck her ID on top of it and kept hitting the screen trying to take the photo, which I thought was soo funny. Dana the front desk assistant did a great job helping this lady out. Beware there is not always a actual doctor on call. Sometimes it's just a NP so check the sign or call if you want to make sure. The rooms where clean and I was in and out with 2hours which is great compare to 4-5 at the ER. They will call youre meds in once you're done to any pharmacy you chose. Made an appointment first thing when they opened there was one walk-in ahead of me. 45 min later get finally get put in a room the medical assistant is on the computer taking my information the PA opens the door and sternly tells her to come here. ((Mind you no courtesy knock just opens the door)) I can clearly hear him talking in a condescending loud voice to her. I paid FastMed urgent care cash up front and they tried to scam me or were being too lazy to do their job. My daughter had styrofoam stuck in her ear and after waiting an hour to be seen they told me their tools were not small enough for her ear and they couldn't give me my money back even though they couldn't help us or preform their procedure properly. The P.A. Told me I would have to go somewhere else. I then told them I wasn't leaving until they gave me my $200 back I just paid in cash up front since they couldn't do the procedure and they refused. I made them call their manager. The guy at the front desk(super nice guy by the way, I think his name was issac, he didn't tell me) asked the manager if they were refunding me the full amount or partial and she asked "HOW MAD ARE THE PARENTS" like WHATTTTTTTTT...... he said that we were irate so she then said okay refund them all. I left with my money after they tried to fight me about it and not help. It was past 8 when she helped and they closed at 8 so I'm guess they just wanted to get out of there. But for the manager to base my refund on how mad I am, are you kidding me?! She was on speaker phone. Called in advance to ensure "in-network" insurance coverage. Also asked various specific things related to my insurance, and if the charges would be "ER-based" or Clinic-based." Walked in and was told the wait would be an hour. Took the forms and sat down to fill them out, taking my time to write clearly, thoroughly answering ALL questions... Took the filled-out forms, Driver's License, & Insurance Card up to the counter where I watched the receptionist place everything at the end of the line. I asked why he did that since I knew others had come in after me... He then stated that your order of being seen is based on when you turn in the forms, not when you walk in the door. Had I known that policy in advance, I would have written so that it looked like a doctor wrote it, as fast as I could... chicken scratch. I actually think about writing so that others can read it, not just me. That's what I was taught as a child... Write for other people, not yourself. Anyway... Now, what was supposed to be an hour wait, is an hour and a half. If someone in a wheel chair comes in and has trouble with the forms, are they treated the same way? Or, is everyone treated the same with respect to turning in the form regardless of capability? So, if you want others to read your handwriting, you will be penalized. read more

I went in today for a minor thing needing antibiotics. It was fast & smooth, and more affordable than another place I'd tried in the past. The staff & service were great, kind, efficient, and courteous to me and my needs. The Nurse Practitioner Laura even helped me get the best quote and place for my antibiotic and gave me a discount card for my RX. I would definitely choose this place again, and was VERY grateful!! I came here on a Saturday afternoon to seek treatment for a small injury. Between the convenience of their location and their excellent customer service, I would highly recommend this urgent care clinic! The facility is clean, well-kept, and quiet. I was directed here by my insurance company's "Find a Provider" tool. I was slightly confused at first because their outdoor, overhead sign still reads "Texan Urgent Care," but a quick look at their front door, website, or other signage reveals that this is in fact FastMed Urgent Care. When I arrived, there was one person ahead of me, who apparently had already been checked in. Thus I was promptly checked in, and was seen by a healthcare provider within ~15 minutes of walking through the front door. Every staff member that I encountered today--from the clinical assistant who greeted me at the front desk, to the medical assistant that took my vitals, to PA that treated me--was very courteous and professional. Everyone I interacted with was very helpful, my medical needs were swiftly and thoroughly attended to, and I was thanked multiple times. I hope that I won't need to be returning any time soon. But if I find myself in need of care after hours or on the weekend, I will certainly return here! read more

This is my go to spot for my kids when they need to seen quick. They have put staples in my son's head, they have treated every kind of rash that a kid can have. They are prompt and friendly. My kids are no stranger to seeing the doctor and they have no fear coming here. The PA's are nice, the MA's are great. The waiting room is always clean and I have even used their bathroom when I wasn't there for an emergency potty break for a potty training toddler. I tell EVERYONE i know to go here if they don't want to try and get an appt for their primary doctor. read more

FastMed Urgent Care uses abusive business practices. When I got sick with the flu I went into this FastMed Urgent Care and waited two hours to be seen. I felt absolutely miserable and in no way was the wait worth the service. To top it all off, a month later I receive a bill from them for $313.00. I called multiple times to get hold of someone who could give me a run down of why and what went on in that short visit that justified the cost. I wasn't able to get hold of them after repeated attempts, but when I finally did they were of little to no help. They didn't justify the charges. All they told me was that it was the normal service fee even though their website states that, "a trip to urgent care will only cost you $200." They were not courteous on the phone nor willing to work with you for a reasonable solution. Just because this is their "normal" charge does not make it right or just. Please note, there is no way to set up a payment plan with them online. The only option is to pay in full so unless you have a couple hundred dollars to waste DO NOT go here (unless you like the feeling of being violated). read more

On Friday, 7/15/16, I was afflicted with a medical condition that needed attention. I called my family physician for an appointment but he was not in the office this day. Having already put up with my affliction for 3/4 days, my wife and daughter urged me to go to a clinic to get my problem attended. I did not want to go through the weekend sick so I gave in. Not knowing where to go and who took Medicare Insurance I quickly browsed the Internet and found a positive review for this clinic plus it is so close to my house. I walked in, asked if they took Medicare and passed them my insurance cards and ID. The lady at the desk was very courteous. She gave me forms to which I retorted, "Well at least it's not a book and smiled." The lady had a sense of humor and gave a quick giggle. Not being here before, I expected to wait a long time to be called in but I really only waited 20 minutes, if that long. The patient care area was very clean and looked like any other doctor's office as did the waiting area. The patient rooms were also very clean and nicely painted and decorated. The attending nurse took my vitals and asked for a urine sample. After all this was done, I waited about 10-15 minutes for the Doctor to walk in. He was also very courteous and spoke "to" me with a professional desire to take care of my problem. He told me what my affliction was and how he was going to treat it and gave me additional useful information about my problem. He actually took better care of me than my own personal physician, who is always in a rush to get in and out. Fastmed Urgent Care surpassed my expectations of a medical clinic. While I was waiting in my patient room, I read the posted Fastmed mission statement. This Fastmed Urgent Care clinic lives up to their mission statement of, "To positively impact the lives of our patients and their families." I went in one afternoon and filled out four pages of paperwork including medical history. The doctor came in and looked at me very quickly and started prescribing medicines. He came back in and had forgotten to look at my chart for a key piece of medical history before he began prescribing medications. Very frustrated!! read more

They resort to strong arm tactics and thug tactics if you question them.
