Update on this review: I'm keeping it a 1 star because since my last post I now work for a company that gets a CareNow discount where our copay is only $20. That's it. I go in last year and they charge me $20 and I was relieved because it seemed they had finally figured it all out. I then get countless emails and postage mail saying I owe them an additional $20. I ignore them for months until finally I cannot stand it any longer and just pay the additional $20. It is now 4 months later and what do I get in the mail? A $20 refund. I don't even care if my company offers a lower copay here. I genuinely mean it when I say I am never coming back here again. And a side note: I went here earlier this month to get a steroid shot due to a severe poison sumac rash. They had an intern lady administer the shot in the side of my butt and she literally stabbed into (what felt like) either my bone or hip joint space. I was in 10/10 excruciating pain for a solid 35 minutes. Crying. Sweating. Uncontrollable shaking. Leg locked. Just awful. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE. read more

LONG WAIT TIME/SLOW. 5 people in the waiting room. 1.5 hours to go back and now at the 2 hour mark still waiting to see a provider. I work in the medical field and have worked in an urgent care in the past and these wait times occurred when our lobby was at maximum capacity. Disappointed with the wait time (for a strep test) It just feels like there is no sense of urgency. People don't feel well and want to be home ; no one wants to spend their day at an urgent care. Fast, efficient, friendly. They have an online check-in to schedule your appt that day. They text you when they're ready and take your commute into consideration. You can sit at home and wait for the text - super convenient. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The nurse who brought me back for my pre-employment drug screen was friendly and quick. The staff here were so nice and so attentive when I needed it most. From the minute I walked in Lucy at patient check in was SO nice, attentive and helpful and the paperwork was easy, fast and minimal. The waiting area was very clean, organized and comfortable which is important when you do not feel well. They had Kleenex, hand cleaner and masks available for adults and children right at check in. Christina, the nurse checked my vitals, asked me many detailed questions and was also very nice and attentive. Dr. Lacabe-Moore was who I saw and she was thorough asking me many questions about how I feel, past several days and listened to what I had to say. It was SO nice that everything I was being told was written up and I left with VERY detailed printed instructions that the doctor went over with me. They even included printouts associated to my diagnosis with causes, risk factors, treatment and home care instructions, this was so effective, efficient and removed any guesswork or note taking by me. I had been to a RediClinic days before and it was the complete opposite of this place. This facility is professional with excellent customer service and they immediately started treating me and calling in prescriptions to truly address my issues rather than sending me home with over the counter meds to suffer. I had to visit Care Now Urgent Care last Friday due to feeling very sick for a couple days. The lovely woman at the check-in desk (I wish I had gotten her name...possibly Layna Creppel) was very sweet and helpful and had me checked-in in no time. I did not have to wait very long before being sent back to a room for the nurse to check vitals. The waiting area is very clean and quiet which is great when a person is not feeling well. Lenah St. Rose, CMA was the nurse who checked all of my vitals. Not only was she calm and very sweet but also very knowledgeable and didn't rush in and rush out, she took her time. She answered all of my questions. The doctor who I saw was Dr. Ebele Owo and she was awesome! She made me laugh at the same time being very professional. She was just a wonderful doctor who answered all of my questions and didn't rush me out the door (which I hate when that happens with certain facilities). They diagnosed me (I had Covid...ugh). Dr. Owo prescribed me the perfect medications and now a week later I am fully recovered. I can not say enough wonderful things about this Care Now Urgent Care. I've been to this office several times in the last year and always been treated very well. The check in is fast and easy and can be done on line as a pre check in. The Doctor explains your diagnosis in detail. Dose not mind giving a referral if needed. I have total trust in them. By FAR the BEST Urgent Care Clinic! I have been using this facility, when needed, for over 3 years. I wish Dr. Moore was allowed to be my PCP. She is amazing! And Ms. Owo, her communication is impeccable. She was great at explaining my case and made me feel comfortable knowing I was given the right kind of treatment. Juanita the lab tech is ALWAYS Awesome! I am not one to write reviews, but CareNow really earned they're 1 star review. I reached out to both Corporate and the office manager and both deemed my service "satisfactory", but I'll let you be the judge of that: I came in complaining of diffuse abdominal pain that had been going on for about a week at the time. I pointed to the right upper quadrant area as well as explained that I had gnawing pain in the epigastric area, and overall my entire gastrointestinal tract just felt irritated. The provider I saw really asked me no further history and did nearly no physical exam besides hit my back checking for CVA tenderness. The provider did not listen to my heart and lungs or even touch my abdomen at all. My wife is a Physician Assistant, so I am familiar with how important it is to illicit a good history from a patient as well as do a thorough physical exam, neither of which I was provided with that day. I was simply told I needed imaging done as the provider thought I had a gallbladder issue. No imaging centers were open that day, a Saturday, so I left feeling confused and more worried than I even was before. No further patient education or thought process on what else could be going on was simply only harmful to me and made me worry, actually causing my abdominal pain to become worse. Because I got no answers, reassurance, or education, I went and saw another provider, an MD, elsewhere who told me they thought this was simply IBS or gastritis. The provider I saw after I went to CareNow did a thorough physical exam on me and asked me a lot of questions to get to the root of the problem, which I felt should have been done at CareNow so that I did not have to go seek care elsewhere. This provider gave me information on how to reduce my stress, what medications I could take over the counter, and some dietary information to help. I received none of this at CareNow. I paid what I owed upon leaving CareNow, which was $170 (+$72.53 after the fact totaling $242.53) and still had to spend money elsewhere. I was frustrated with the lack of care provided at CareNow and paying the original bill in office that day, and now to receive another bill in the mail I feel is unacceptable and should be written off because of the poor quality care I received read more

I went in with a severe sinus infection (sinus pressure was so bad I couldn't sleep and it made my teeth hurt) and chest congestion. Upon entry the place is clean, well organized and they have coffee, hot chocolate and hot tea. The Patient Rep (Cynthia) was very nice and the paperwork was not overwhelming by asking the same questions they over and over again. In the room, they have a TV and magazines to help pass the time. The MA (Lisa) was helpful and polite. Dr. McDill came in and she was pleasant and inquired to my issues. She quickly prescribed medicine and sent me on my way. I did not have to fill out a lot of paperwork-- huge bonus. They got me in very quickly -- another big bonus. Their communication was fantastic. The doctor gave me a very clear and very thorough explanation of the diagnosis, clear and detailed instructions of what I needed to do, what they were going to do, and what the next steps would be after they got back the test results. I got a call the next day to see how I was doing. Then the next day, the doctor called and left a voicemail message to call her so she could give me the results of the tests. The next day they called me back again, before I had a chance to return the doctor's call, to tell me they had the tests results back and that they had a prescription called in for me at my pharmacy. The follow-through was OUTSTANDING. I will definitely go there again when the need arises. read more

My visit at CareNow urgent care was great. I walked in feeling very worried about the symptoms I was feeling. I thought something may have been wrong with my heart. From the moment I walked in the nice lady at the front desk Ms. Cynthia was very attentive and helpful. Once I was signed in I sat down in the waiting area for less then two minutes and then the nurse Ms. Christine walked me to the back to check my weight and vitals and what not. Christine is very easy to talk with and she has a nice sense of humor. She made me laugh. I really needed a good laugh. It helped relieve my stress from my symptoms and the worry about what could be wrong with me. She wasn't overly funny as to make light of the situation. But rather she made me laugh like a nice friend would that wants to cheer you up when your down. I appreciated that. Ms. Christine also did an EKG on me. I had never done an EKG before. Initially it was a little odd having to lay there with my shirt off and all the wires hooked up to me. Also considering the fact that I've gained a bit of weight because of one of the medications I take. But Ms. Christine made it seem like something not akward, or out of the ordinary. I also did not feel ashamed or judged because of my weight gain. I felt very comfortable and was treated kindly. When Dr. Mc Dill walked in she immediately demonstrated a good Dr.'s bedside Manner and was very kind and compassionate. She was also very easy to talk with. She took the time to listen. Not all Dr.'s do that. But she did. Dr. McDill is great. It was decided that I needed lab and x-ray work. Ms. Eboni did the lab and X-ray work. Through out the process Ms. Eboni explained what was being done regarding the X-rays and later on when she drew blood for lab work; every step of the way she asked if I was ok and if the blood draw was making me dizzy or anything of that nature. I appreciated her being gentle with the needle and everything she took care of for me. Ms. Eboni is very polite and friendly. She made me feel very comfortable as well. Some of the things in this review I mentioned out of order. Some times the nurse would come in and then the Dr. to check on me, then the nurse come back to check something else. I tried to divide everything in my review into how I was treated by each individual of the staff. The entire staff was pleasant, kind, compassionate, and just being treated that well helped me feel a little bit better in itself. A very welcome relief to know that this clinic is now open and has staff that are very friendly and attentive and knowlegable. I went in for a continuing respiratory virus that my normal Dr. had been treating since the first of April and was failing to treat properly. I was feeling worse each day and fatigued. I felt I couldn't continue on my current Dr's. course. I was immediately signed in and within 5 minutes was back in a clinic room seeing the nurse who took all the information and diagnostics. After she finished, within 5 minutes Dr. McDill came in. My symptoms were accessed, questions asked , and she came to to the conclusion that I did need a different form of treatment and therapy. She told me how she would like to proceed, and asked for my opinion or was there any questions. I totally agreed with her . With her approach I was feeling significantly better by the next evening. I have continued with the medication and the home nebulizer treatments and am now back to my normal self, feeling great. The nurse also did a follow up call to see how I was responding. The service was fine, the issue is with the cost for the services. I went to CareNow as I had a nosebleed that I was having trouble stopping on my own and this was the first time I have had that issue. They got me back promptly and I was seen by a nurse. In order to treat my nose, the nurse squirted some Afrin on a cotton swab and dabbed it inside my nose. She then monitored me for 20 minutes to make sure the bleeding stopped. Once it was confirmed the bleeding stopped, she sent me on my way. CareNow billed $629.00 for this service. I reached out for an itemized bill. It took over a month to get a response and all I received was a printout that showed $335.00 was for the office visit and $294.00 was for control of nosebleed. There was no letter, or any other information provided regarding why the bill was so high. After I received the "itemized" bill, I reached out to CareNow again trying to understand why 4 squirts of Afrin, a cotton swab, and 20 minutes of the nurse's time cost $629.00 as that did not seem commensurate for the services received. Their only response was a letter stating that it was indeed commensurate for the services received and that I was expected to pay my bill in full. I was not aware that I could stop the bleeding with Afrin since this was the first time I have had an issue like this. Had I known I could have used Afrin and Q-tips to stop the bleeding, I could have gotten the same supplies from Walmart for under $10 and taken care of the issue myself. I will not be using this company again as I do not agree with the amount they charge for their services. read more

Today I went in to care now here in dickinson/league city and it was amazing I got there when they opened at 9AM. I told them I was not feeling okay and had an important meeting that afternoon for work I was in and out with tests ran in about 30 minutes. I was checked in by Lucy, who was fast and detailed she asked that I will out two forms, she made copies of my ID and insurance card. Then I say nurse Lisa who was very inviting and actually made me laugh when I felt horrible then I saw Dr Lacabe-Moore who was very detailed and spent about 15 minutes listening to me breath, check my throat, and ears. I cannot say what a relief this was for me as a busy working mother of two young kids I dont want to bring to an urgent care, in tow, or leave even longer at DayCare/camp this was a life saver for me. Sat in patient room for 1 1\2 hours and never saw the doctor. I was told by the nurse that only 3 patients were ahead of me. When I walked out there were no cars in the lot. I told the front desk after 1 1\4 that I was still here and still no doctor. He seemed surprised when I left that the doctor still hadn't been there.
