This part is known to fail on older system esp. The previous one had to be replaced as the black jacketed 110 line melted at the lug point. The technician cut the wire back but still lugged chard copper back into the new contactor. (Unacceptable). Cut backs are never a good idea in general. The wire was short to begin with. $3.00 wire. The New Coil Coil Contactor also didn't get remounted to the mount frame as originally designed by the manuf. Wire Clippings were left in the base of the furnace cabinet. The work wasn't carefully done. I really wish He would have just left prior to finishing the work. He knew he stressed me out I almost had him leave after I knew what type of technician he was going to be. For the sake of sanity I tried to leave on a positive note but this technician needs a lot of soft skill training and needs to do a complete and clean job or Turn down the work outright if (me) the homeowner overstepped. I'll close on two additional points. He said the bad part with Diagnostic would be around $250.00 He looked at the part I had and then said this will be a bit more. This was only after I was uncomfortable with him being in my home. The cost sky rocketed up to $409. I wanted him to go away so I just a paid. If we would have been more upfront about 45% increase I wouldn't have agreed to the work. Lastly, and most important. Didn't even measure or check heat at the register. So this was speed and slop work. Really the only positive was he left the needed part so I could go back and do the job correctly.

I politely knock on the door with my clients who are behind me and ask to come in and had my showing confirmation pulled up on my phone. The younger employee lets me through the door but as i was stepping in the old gentlemen rudely says "youre not the owner you cant come in here you need to leave" i state i know im not the owner but im a realtor showing this home heres the showing confirmation he precedes to basically push me out the door and says i have to step outside. He also states " you dont look like a realtor either you dont have a name tag" disrespectfully and asks to see my drivers license i told him no you will not get my drivers license. But showed him my MIBOR association page. As a black man this felt racist and i called him one. I would never recommend a company that ok's this just because im not in a suit or look a certain way doesnt mean im not a realtor. He also potentially prevented the owner from getting an offer on the home. The neighborhood page had several recommendations for Dutch Heating and Cooling. I called the service number and left a message. After approximately 5 minutes my call was returned and a service technician projected an ETA of about 90 minutes. The service technician "Christopher" arrived in the time frame projected. He was polite, professional, and explained the problem along with how it was being repaired. The cost for the service was affordable and I won't hesitate to call them again when I need their services. Definitely consider them as an option if you need anything in their area of expertise.

Granted he arrived on short notice on Friday around 5pm. My time and patience are worth something. And that day I would have paid twice as much not to have to mess with it. Called Beaver Air, on recommendation of my wonderful handyman, John Jacobi. Yes, coolant was low. Put more coolant in system. $155.00 repair. He observed there was a lot of offset tension on the gas line connection to the furnace due its improper installation when the furnace was originally installed. He used a flexible gas line connector to alleviate the issue (see photo) and was very meticulous to ensure the new pipe had no leaks. Furthermore, he applied additional stabilizers to ensure the pipe was properly secured. I certainly appreciate his attention to detail and his outstanding professionalism to make my furnace safer and more efficient.
