Griffin Hall from Good Guys HVAC, during a previous repair, noticed a dangerous issue with the main gas line to my furnace. He observed there was a lot of offset tension on the gas line connection to the furnace due its improper installation when the furnace was originally installed. He used a flexible gas line connector to alleviate the issue (see photo) and was very meticulous to ensure the new pipe had no leaks. Furthermore, he applied additional stabilizers to ensure the pipe was properly secured. I certainly appreciate his attention to detail and his outstanding professionalism to make my furnace safer and more efficient. Griffin Halls demonstrated superior skills and willingness to go the extra distance to help his customers brings great credit upon himself and the Good Guys HVAC company. my experience was great they came out sunday evening . Danny was great. They have the cheapest service call fee. I called alot of companys others wanted up to 200 dollars just to show up . Good guys was 69.00 My furnace is now running, it was a simple fix. I installed a filter on the door to the unit and it was plugged. HE removed the filter and it started running. I requested HVAC service and it ended up being what was suspected, my blower. My furnace is not a common brand so that made my part harder to find, longer to get and more expensive. However, my Tech had an alternative suggestion. He exchanged the whole motor for a more common one so that it's cheaper, done same day and works just the same! Saved me a lot of money and time! What an incredible overall experience! First, I downloaded the app at 11pm for a 5-8am visit the next morning. I was shocked to see availability on such short notice - and it was a free visit. An hour or so after the window closed, nobody had come, so I called. The app shouldn't have let me schedule that, and they weren't notified, which is completely understandable. They still sent someone out by 11am that morning. My AC and furnace were both 25-30 years old and had long-since stopped working, I've no doubt. This was a recent purchase, and the inspection pointed this out, so we knew they both had to be replaced. Good Guys was a second opinion, and I'm glad I got one. My wife and I had already purchased an AC condenser unit on Amazon, and we weren't interested in going through the returns process on such a large, heavy item, especially since we're out of town. Brian gave me the option to install what we bought, though there would be no warranty, since it's an abnormal situation. We also had a new furnace installed. Unfortunately, things weren't installed correctly, and the AC was only blowing cold air in the bedroom hallway, but not in any of the rooms. I was really upset, as I thought that was an amateurish job by someone who should be a professional. I called and complained - and I'm a little embarrassed by my poor attitude, but I was definitely frustrated - and Brian came back out to fix it. No charge. He also upgraded the furnace. Then finally, there was an issue with another part, which he came back out to take care of. It was a complicated issue, and wasn't without problems, but I'm impressed by their communication and willingness to work with us and most importantly, to make things right - at least, in my judgment. read more

Our A/C stopped working after a power outage and found Good Guys through a search..I'm always wary of repairmen since I've been ripped off a good number of times. That was definitely not the experience I received with Good Guys! I received communication from Joe within an hour of scheduling online, and he even arrived a bit earlier than expected. I can't say enough about these guys! I called another big company for a summer AC tune up. I didn't know it, but my AC was not working, and the tech told me I needed a new unit to the tune of $12K. On a friends recommendation, I call The Good Guys. Tyler read the notes from the first guy and knew immediately what to check. He found a problem the first guy missed. $412 and 2 hours later my AC was cranking out cool air. Fast forward two weeks and my AC was not working again. I have died and gone to hvac heaven. I thought I was being smart to instal a programmable thermostat for my rental property. Instead, I blew a fuse on a Sunday and suddenly had no heat. I called good guys and they offered to walk me through it or come out to fix. I opted for the fix, so within an hour on a Sunday night my problem was fixed. Our A/C outdoor condenser fan failed on a hot Saturday afternoon. Tried calling several big HVAC firms in the area--calls not answered, went to voicemail (no callback) or told me they couldn't get a tech out to my house for 9 days. Then I searched online reviews and found Good Guys (you won't find them by a TV commercial, in the Yellow Pages or on a ValPak coupon--only online). Requested emergency (same day) service through their website. Their business model is much like Uber or Lyft--a nearby tech is notified of the call and can choose to respond. Our tech Eric responded and arrived within a couple of hours (and brought a young female apprentice with him; nice to see women getting opportunities in the HVAC field). He had our A/C fixed within 20 minutes (bad capacitor, very common problem). He also checked temperatures and pressures and hosed the unit off for us, no extra charge. Total was about $264 including $99 for the same-day service call. Overall, very pleased with their service and would use them again. Only downside was the outrageous markup on the capacitor (a $15-$20 part available online), but I think all HVAC providers are guilty of that. While we have lived in Westfield for some time, we have never had to have our HVAC worked on so we really had no idea who to call when our AC unit stopped working. Based on the Yelp reviews and my gut I called Good Guys. My gut was right. Tyler came out, and even though we have an older system that legitimately it could be argued should be replaced, he had it up and running in no time with a relatively inexpensive fix. He then showed me several ways to help reduce the load on the blower motor, cleaned off the external unit, and offered some other helpful tips.
