    Sautéed vegetables

When I entered the restaurant at 12:30 pm I questioned if the place was open - the place was dark, there were pastry cases that were completely empty and absolutely no one eating in the restaurant during this lunch hour. I ordered the battered pork bites (can't recall its name) and black mushroom rice with vegetables. The rice dish was absolutely delicious and that would have been enough for me, the pork had some good pieces though half of it was overcooked, the sautéed vegetables were so flavorful I finished it - that rarely happens with me. My lunch date had the jerk chicken and she just loved it but I understand it's spicy. The service was slow coming out of the kitchen - the woman that took our order was also the waitress. I may have to return and try something different -- that's if they remain open.

I came in on a Monday around two thirty in the afternoon and the restaurant was completely empty which surprised me because the food was absolutely incredible. I was greeted by the sweetest woman who made me feel so welcome the moment I walked in. Since it was my first time I asked for a recommendation and she suggested the oxtail with beans and rice along with the spinach and okra side. The food was unreal. The oxtail was tender with rich flavor and the broth tasted like it had been cooking all day. The beans and rice were seasoned perfectly and the spinach and okra side was fresh and comforting. Every single bite had so much flavor. I am honestly shocked that this place was not packed because the quality of the food is outstanding. This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time and the kindness of the woman working made the experience even better. I will one hundred percent be returning and I will be telling everyone I know to try this place

Definitely my favorite Caribbean spot in Sac! Has awesome sides, great stews and the patty's are bomb! Both the Jamaican and Haitian ones!

I don't give out 5 stars lightly. Worth every penny and second we waited. There wasn't a bite of food not filled to the brim with flavor. One of the best meals I've had by far.

    Oxtails

First time trying Caribbean food and really liked it. We ordered the oxtails which were really good and tender. We also ordered the fried snapper fillet with red beans and rice. I wish I would have ordered the whole fish as I wasn't a fan of the fish fillet just didn't seem like it had much fish in it. We had the salmon bites which were excellent. The coleslaw was really good and was very spicy. We also had the mushroom rice which we liked a lot! The hostess was a doll and very helpful!! Not going to lie. It took a little while to get the food but it was worth the wait. I also have their own parking lot so parking just got an issue. We'll definitely go back to try more things.

Great food. Clean. Ordered togo. They need more customers. Come support them! The food was delicious. Thank you. Glad I tried something new today.

Try it! I worked down the street and I keep seeing this place finally gave it a try and it was bomb. The red beans and rice Hella flavorful and the Mac was not disappointing at all. However, for the price I feel like my protein option could've been bigger or they could've added another piece but other than that, everything was great.

I've only ordered their Haitian meat patties from their ghost kitchen at Sactown Eats. The pastry itself is hand sized, flaky and perfectly cooked. Beef patty filling is paste like in consistency with an incomparable flavor that I cannot identify. It's well spiced and a little tart but in a very pleasing way. Chicken patty was also lovely and very addictive. Moist filling reminded me of a creamy pot pie. Next time I would like to try their legume stew, griot, and Haitian spaghetti it all looks so unique and tasty.

Fried Griot (pork bites), mushroom rice and peas, Fried Plantains, sos, Pikliz, and Chicken Haitian Patty (not pictured)

So good! Been looking for a restaurant that serves Haitian food in Sacramento. Food is full of flavor. I also tried the passion fruit juice and it tastes so fresh! Will definitely come back. Portions and price point are great.

I love beef patties so I decided I'd give it a try! The special for Monday was goat (not my fav) and chicken...but I chose to just get patties.....until I got there. Upon arrival, the staff were very welcoming and greeted us with beautiful smiles. The music was playing gospel!!! My favorite!! Yay!! And I didn't even realize at first. Hehehe.. The establishment had snacks, drinks, clothes, fresh ginger, frozen fresh fish, oils, ice cream, soaps...you name it! They had it! When it was time to order, I told them I was skeptical of the goat and was thinking about passing on the chicken this time. BUT he insisted...and when he showed me the chicken, it looked and smelled amazing!!! So I said what the heck! I went from only getting 2 beef patties to buying 2 stewed chicken plates ($15), 4 patties ($3.75 each), 1 festival bread ($0.99) and 2 coco breads ($2.75 each) for a total of about ($60-$65). Everything was a 10/10!!!! No kidding!!!! We also got 2 mango drinks (less than $5 for both) and a pack of sherly cookies ($2.50). One of the drinks was 100% juice, and they had many other traditional Jamaican beverages as well as non-alcoholic drinks. I live in the Berkeley area but I will be making the drive again and again!! I'm hooked! :), "Every Little Thing Jamaican" is everything I've been looking for I Jamaican food!!! I lived on the beautiful island of Hispañola for several years, but I only lived on the east side (Dominican Republic) where I fell in love with their food. Since Haiti and the DR share this island, I met some Haitian people and found them so wonderful, but we only met, I never had the opportunity to eat Haitian food. Fast forward 30 years to yesterday evening when our party of four walked by! I was hit with the delicious aroma and was immediately intoxicated! We got a table and I was so enveloped by the surroundings and was immediately transported back to the Caribbean! I got the Jerk Chicken dinner with savory plantains (I do love sweet (maduro) plantains too, but I love me some savory). It comes with a delicious rice and beans bowl that is amazing to have with the chicken. And oh my gawd! The Jerk chicken! Has a bit of a kick, which I was not expecting because, while I love Dominican food, I had no idea how flavorful and delicious the Haitians flavored their food! Blown away! The chicken was so insanely tender and delicious that I'm still thinking about it. The server was so sweet and amazing too! The cocktails, amazing! The T'punch, yum! I'm in love with this restaurant! I came around 5:50PM on a Sunday night and had to wait about 10 minutes, but by the time I left around 6:30PM, the line was out the door and then some. Definitely get here early, and parking shouldn't be too hard with a lot nearby and free street parking. This spot is pretty casual, as in you order at the counter before grabbing a number and sitting at a table. As opposed to a food hall, you get directed where you sit before ordering, and sometimes end up sharing a table with another party, especially in my case when you have a party of 2. Service was attentive and food came out at a decent pace, though they did not come all together. I ordered a large Bistec Sandwich and a Pasteles Special. The Bistec sandwich is a must order, and I recommend ordering the sandwich over the plate due to how fragrant the bread was. Pictures might not look like much, but the bread was sooo good and crispy, and they give a good balance of meat, avocado and veggies. It can be a little heavy, but a large sandwich was perfect for my wife and I to share along with another plate. The Pastales was alright - the rice is pretty unique if you're looking for new flavors, but the pork was a little stinky and dry. The hot sauce on the table is really good and managed to mitigate that, and it's not as spicy as you'd think given the color and smell. The banana leaf in the tamale made it really fragrant with a unique taste, and the lemon sauce on the salad balanced the entire plate out. For a party of 2, I recommend ordering the Bistec Sandwich in large size (since I believe the regular price only gives you half) and another plate. I also recommend using the toast tab (online order) to look at the menu over their actual menu; the UI of it makes it hard to choose what to order and the toast menu has pictures next to the menu item. Given that Marin food options can be quite expensive or fancy, this place is the perfect place to go for a unique food spot, especially if you're coming from SF.
