Dinner combo: egg roll and cheese wonton
Cierra W.

Their food is amazing! I've had their chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken, egg rolls, and cheese wontons. Every time I get them, the quality and taste are consistent. The service is quick. The staff are nice. Even when I get it delivered, the food is prepared so quickly! I absolutely love this place. The restaurant is small because their food is for takeout only. There's no place to sit inside. You can order at the window or call it in ahead of time. Your order will be ready within 10 to 15 minutes. They do not accept big bills and there's not a restroom available for customers. They do have a small parking lot. You can also park on the street.

We ordered take out tonight. My husband said they were nice when picking up and service was great. I was so happy to get my food still steaming hot! I recommend trying this place.

The presentation is excellent, timing was on time not to long not to short, ad the flavor was just right.

Another successful dinner with Happy Takeout! They accept Uber Eats also. A variety to choose from. The spicy mustard is amazing. Thank you staff

Now that's Chinese food! Flavor was on point, portion, price. Only recommendation for the restaurant is to allow 2 entrees instead of just 1. But if you're craving proper Chinese takeout this is the place to go. Bay Area vibes.

The dinner place is not the same, its smaller portion now. I only got 5 pieces of meat.

I recently decided to try Happy Takeout after reading a Yelp review and wanting to explore some new spots other than my usual go-to places. I ordered the lunch combo, green bean chicken along with sides of chow mein and fried rice. Also ordered the sweet and sour pork lunch combo. First off, the flavors were great. The chow mein, in particular, was perfect--well-cooked, not too greasy, and packed with flavor. However, the fried rice was ok, it was hard and I like to have my fried rice not so hard. That said, the portions were super generous, especially for a lunch combo. You really get a lot of food for what you pay, and it felt like a good value overall. Despite the fried rice being a miss, it's a great take out spot if you're in this area.

I love this place. I have been going here for years. It's like it's gets better and better. There's not one bad thing I can say about this place. The owner Diana is thee best. Super friendly and has great customer service. I love coming here

Hit or miss with seasoning. today HIT Broccoli Chicken. Price has increased but you do get a full plate

Not going to lie this place frustrates the heck out of me. It's really a 50/50 chance on the food quality in terms of taste and if you get the correct order. Be aware when ordering on the phone REPEAT the order item by item, and have THEM repeat it back AND check your food BEFORE you leave. Tonight's issue, I ordered a salt and pepper chicken combo with fried rice. I made sure to say boneless chicken NOT the wings (since of course they have made that mistake before) the diner combos come with entree, rice, chow mein. You can get fried rice OR white rice. Which is why I asked for fried rice on one order and white rice on the other. Imagine my surprise when I opened both combos and had no chow mein. This was my 13th reason for the day cause come on man. Initially I just said whatever but I was starving and was really looking forward to my meal. I called and said hey I didn't get any chow mein!!! Basically the lady said oh I thought you meant only fried rice and only white rice. For Christ sakes WHY would you think that since you get to choose between rice. Super frustrating. Customer service is whatever there in terms of front staff so take all this to how you like. Is this place good food .... Depends on the day. Portions are huge and that's great when the food is good that day. As much as I enjoy grabbing a quick bite at my nearest spot this is beyond frustrating and I may need to find a new spot

Established in 1939, the menu is delightful, the food is fantastic. Coming back for more as soon as we can. Best Chow Fun outside of Hong Kong, and having been been to HK often. Didn't have reservations, so we ate at the bar. The bartender 'Eddie' provided us excellent service. Everyone was friendly. This restaurant has great food and classic style. 5 solid Stars!

Perfect crispiness and actually crispy walnuts. I think a crispy walnut in a honey walnut shrimp is a must. IDK how I went for so long without being obsessed with honey walnut shrimp. the green beans were delicious. even getting them takeout, they remained crispy. They were also well seasoned. It was a chilly garlic rather than just garlic, which I liked. normally I feel like garlic green beans are under seasoned, but these ones were well done, flavoring wise. The orange chicken was really good. It actually tasted like purposeful seasoning rather than just relying on the orange to carry it. I wish it was crispier, but it probably would've been had I ordered it in restaurant. I wish the chicken pieces were smaller, but that's my personal preference. The chicken was really good quality/ cuts of meat. No fat or weird textured pieces.

The wonton soup had a lot of wonton that were filled with meat and were yummy. There was also an adequate amount of vegetables in the soup. The broth was clear and flavorful. The honey garlic spareribs were sweet and scrumptious. There were even fried whole cloves of garlic which complimented the spareribs well. The batter on the spareribs was not too thick and was crispy even though it was coated with sauce. Service was adequate as the workers refilled water and offered a plastic cup for my child. I noticed there was an emergency exit, however there were chairs blocking the door and the door was locked shut with a metal bar going across. The illuminated exit sign above the door was misleading as this door would not be suitable as an emergency exit. If there were an emergency it would be hazardous for everyone in the restaurant to leave through the front door in a chaotic scramble that would result in additional injuries/death.

We went by on a Sunday around 12:30 and were able to join the yelp wait list as we parked and get a table for 3 easily. Fair warning if you are a larger group and come at peak times, join the waitlist early or be ready to wait a bit! The interior is bright, lively with a ton of bright light and decorations. There is a good amt of seating but let me tell you, it fills up FAST. The menu is EXPANSIVE with tons of options for omnivores and vegetarians alike. I will admit the impossible siu mai grabbed my attention pretty fast because I had never seen a vegetarian siu mai before sooo we had to order it. My friends shared the pork xlbs and we got the garlic green beans and the garlic noodles to share as well! Honestly, it was like being in a flow state between the garlic noodz and the green beans alone; highkey could eat multiple plates of just those two back to back to back l o l The siu mai was also delish but the other two dishes were somehow better. The soy/vinegar and chili oil they give for dipping is so good and hits that perfect note between salty/tangy/spicy. Prices are fair for the quality and I would love to go back and try more of their vegetarian options! I appreciate that this a spot that both vegetarians and their omnivore friends can go~ Have to go back to try their desserts including the egg tarts that sold out!

Its been so bad the past decade that we decided to give it another chance. Different management, different chefs, different everything basically. The fried flounder was so fried that I could not separate the bones, not only that, you could barely get any meat out of it. Our table had nine people and they only provided 6 buns with our peking duck. I thought they didn't have enough steamer space and was going to bring more but nope. The shrimp in their salted egg pumpkin and shrimp dishes was overcooked and their deep fried pig intestines were extremely stinky. Their portion sizes downsized like crazy and it's so bad that we didn't even finish any of the dishes. The best dish was a stir fry cauliflower dish that I could make at home. It was supposed to come with pork, but I only saw itty bitty pieces of meat. The service was also super bad and slow. I was eating their fried rice and bit on a piece of broken yellow plastic with multiple sharp points. Prior to that, I was feeding my toddler the rice so THANKFULLY it didn't go to him. When we told the server, which was an older lady with glasses and bangs, she's like oh... then she took it to the kitchen and pretended that nothing had ever happened when she came back out. Shes been there for years, and I remember seeing her when we were regulars. I wasn't expecting anything, except for some accountability. I used to love this place so it's pretty sad to see how much it went downhill.... This business needs to be scrapped. The current 3 stars is giving them too much credit and it must have been due to when they used to be good, in the past.
