Camarones al mojo de ajo (shrimp in garlic sauce)
    Brooke N.

I can't say anything bad about this hole in the wall! My mom had the butter cooked fish and I had shrimp in garlic sauce, both were really good! Authentic food for sure! The refried beans had no cheese in it. Nadia was so helpful and patient with us. She answered all of our questions and gave us explanations of the menu. This is not your traditional Mexican food! It came with ceviche instead of chips and salsa, no guac here. The ceviche was delish! We def will be back!

Pretty good ceviche, pretty interesting music... (why was ed sheeran playing at volume 100) My sister and I visited this fine establishment after spending a day meandering around Sacramento. My car's AC is broken. therefore seafood was the only cure. The journey to get here was long and sweaty and uncomfortable. We were dying. but once we got here and cracked open some DCs, all was fixed. Our food came in a timely manner and was very delicious. We shared the shrimp ceviche and had so much we had to bring some home. The serving sizes are pretty big! Worth it. Once we were ready to leave, we had a bit of trouble getting our waitress' attention.... but we thought it was funny so all is forgiven. overall, good fish, good vibes, good time. #darlingyoulookperfect #ed #cevichelover

    Camarones a la kora

Islitas used to be to go to spot for our family for seafood but it seems to have lost its charm over the years. This was the first time we'd been here in probably 2 years and it's nothing compared to what it used to be. We came around noon and there were only about 7 tables occupied and most of them were already eating, however it took 45 minutes to get our food. Myself and my husband each ordered the camarones a la kora plate so nothing super fancy or that would take super long to make. Since it was my husbands lunch break, we had to box up most of our meal because his lunch was pretty much over by the time we got our food. The shrimp was a tad over cooked and lots of them weren't cleaned all the way. Rice was good but the beans tasted horrible. We also got the complementary ceviche and it tasted off and old. They also don't have a soda machine, so you're paying $3 for a canned soda, which if you've read any of my previous reviews is a huge pet peeve of mine. Overall, they still have the best camarones a la kora around but slow service and having to check each shrimp to make sure it's cleaned is a huge factor in returning or not.

Our good friend recommended this place to us so a few of us came to try this place out! It's a very spacious space and the vibes brought me back to Cancun lol. We ordered the Mojarra Frita (Fried Tilapia) Mejillones (Mussels), and a Small parillada (I think that's what it was- assorted shrimp!) The Mojarra Frita was really good, my favorite! It comes with rice, beans, and a side salad and some tortillas. The Mussels were also yummy! And the Assorted Shrimp Platter was my favorite. It came with a deep fried shrimp, bacon wrapped shrimp, and shrimp coated in a flavorful lime sauce that was delicious! This place is known for their seafood but they also have other meat options as well! Service was super nice!

I haven't been to this place in years! Last time was when I was a law student. This place has not changed and I am so glad it's still a great place. The staff were super friendly and attentive. When you sit down, you get ceviche and tostadas to snack on, no charge. I went on a Monday afternoon and it was not busy. I ordered the Camarones a la diabla. The sauce was spicy and delicious. You can pick flour or corn tortillas and I got flour. The palate was huge. Tastes just how I remember it. Definitely 5/5 We got the cocktail de camaron to share as an appetizer. I wish there was more Clamato and Chile in it. It was okay. 3/5 I definitely want to come again and get the pineapple shrimp plate or the molcajete to share. Definitely check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

Found out local mariscos spot from home her in Sacramento the food is mostly the same so that es stood all cooks have they own recipes buts it's all kinds the same they had cold beer and good service also. No live music like home but they had music playing on the speakers so that did they job

    Parillada de camaron

We went here 8/15 the service was excellent but sadly the food wasn't as before. We ordered the parillada plate and the shrimp agua chile was raw we ended not even eating any of it. The portions as well are smaller. I had a margarita and it tasted like bottled lemon juice with a bit of dish soap. I always look forward to this spot but it was a disappointment this visit.

All las Islitas have a little bit of a different menu! However the fish ceviche is Devine and that's coming from a person who does not eat fish unless it's fish and chips lol so I recommend the fish ceviche 100% which is provided as a complementary appetizer, but I always purchase an additional one because of how delicious it is! But to go past that the shrimp ceviche which is also delicious and gives that fresh taste and perfect to eat on a hot day! They have multiple seafood options on their menu for everyone

This place is a hidden gem. Tucked behind in the back left corner of the Florin Square Shopping Center, this place has the best mariscos! Food is fresh, authentic, and delicious. Instead of chips and salsa, free appetizer given is fish ceviche, tostadas, and saltines. It was such a hit with our group, we decided to order a large bowl to share. Pina rellena was so good! A whole half pineapple was served stuffed with a variety of seafood in a spicy sauce topped with cheese. Very delicious. Shrimp coctel was also very good. Love this place for its friendly service and fun, festive atmosphere inside. Looking forward to visiting again.

We got the "special" buy one pound get the next pound free so we did shrimp. We got shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes, and dungeness crab with the special blend in one bag. The hook and reel special blend was honestly pretty gross it was sweet, Smokey and not very buttery or salty at all. We asked for lemon pepper and extra butter to put inside(which was an extra charge) it made it a little better but I've definitely had better elsewhere. The garlic noodles were really good they had a soy sauce flavor, garlicky and cheesy. The price was pretty expensive considering I've spent $30 less elsewhere. Here at hook & reel I spent $96 The service was good. She was very kind and helpful but also wasn't very attentive. The restaurant and the bathrooms were very clean. Overall I wouldn't come back and I recommend going to Captain crab in Elk Grove it is so much better tasting and cheaper!!

Service was low, when greeted we were greeted promptly but there were no smiles from anyone. I hope they all do enjoy working there! We started with one server and then it jumped to another server which I did see someone else experienced also, so maybe this is the norm for the location? This was many of our groups first time here and Alex started of same way with a slight smile, but he took the time to understand our confusion and began to lighten up once he understood our order and we understood the restaurant and he was a great waiter for the evening since. Thank you for putting up with our confusion! Food- chicken wings I would come back for they are definitely my top 3 I've had from a restaurant. Myself personally I am actually not a big fan with seafood boils because I do not care for all that seasoning, so coming I was quite worried I wouldn't eat anything. Well I caved in to try it with the crawdads, and to my surprise, it is definitely lightly seasoned so I did end up liking it. So, if you do truly like a seafood boil with seasonings and kick, I wouldn't recommend this place as a go to for others, but for myself if I have a craving I will grab my crawdads here. Overall the place is crowded and busy, it's in a busy shopping center. There are a lot of people working here at one time, it just feels that no one is thrilled to work there. We went towards their late shift to closing and to be quite honest I got understand that why they may have that feeling. The manager pulled out flashlights while we were eating to inspect the window cleanliness? Great job with the cleaning, but also not the right time. Also, micro managing the team's cleaning while standing at the counter and pointing at places they are missing (we should not see the from our seats). She definitely needs to work on Leadership, not manager, skillsets, and have her participate and guide team members rather then making it look as if she is looking down on her team. This can change the atmosphere for team engagement, so the greetings are more welcoming and engaging to customers.

10 Years of Marriage & a Great Family Dinner!…read more Last night, my wife Sokny and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with our family, and we couldn't have asked for a better evening! We had dinner at Seafood House Quan Oc, and everyone definitely came hungry! Sokny and our daughter Skylie went with the seafood boil, and it was excellent! The seafood came with a delicious curry-style sauce that had so much flavor. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal! Our niece Maddie and youngest daughter Laila enjoyed the kids' chicken wings and fries, and Maddie also really liked the eggrolls. We shared an appetizer of crab cheese wontons, which were another hit. My mom had the garlic noodles, while I went with the fish fillet with rice and salad -- and it was all great! For drinks, Skylie had a Thai tea, while Sokny tried a Black Superman and a lemon drop. The lemon drop was unfortunately more lemonade than vodka, but hey... we still had a good laugh about it! Overall, the food was fantastic, but what made the night special was simply being together as a family. 10 years of marriage, lots of memories, and many more to come. Thank you to my beautiful wife for sharing this journey with me. I love you, Sokny!

Im not sure if they hold karaoke or have live bands but there is a stage with music instruments and a projector with installed party lights. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted right away. It was a bummer when they told us they didn't make ox tail or bum rieu today. Instead we ordered beef tartare, beef pho and shaken beef with rice. The beef tartare was this sliced raw beef with onion, herbs and lime which made the dish rich and savory. The pho was mediocre and same goes for the shaken beef, but both dishes were still tasty enough. During our time there, the server did not check on us or refill our water. If I'm craving for seafood, maybe I'll come back to try their seafood options.

The place was empty and i was told they are short staffed and only served dine in for dinner and on weekends. I would have to order to go only for lunch. The restaurant looked bigger in the pictures but it was much smaller than i envisioned. Probably won't go back. I was really disappointed to drive 35 minutes for nothing. The person i talked to was nice though in his explanations. But i wanted to eat. If you're looking to go there, call first and make sure they are open and that you can dine it.

The salsa definitely tasted homemade, and I have to admit, I ate two servings of the chips because they were that good. The restaurant was also very clean, artistic, and absolutely beautiful inside. I loved the Indigenous Mexican artwork and the overall atmosphere. The food was marvelous, and I highly recommend this place.

There was only 1 waiter, who after some time brought us chips n salsa. The bartender at the bar was just chatting with the 2 girls n then a boy walked n she was flirting with him. Never acknowledged us or anything . We placed our orders. I got 1 fish n 1 shrimp taco. Son got a chicken taco n chicken burrito. We also Ordered margaritas . Food came before the drink coz the chic at the bar was busy flirting with the dude. I asked the waiter if our drinks are not coming I will cancel it. He tried to explain that one table got samples of drinks so takes time ... naaaa that bartender is slow AF n her attention is on the dude. A good bartender won't take forever to make drinks when there are barely 4 tables n only 2 ordered drinks. Wish I didn't have to tip her anything . I didn't want the waiter to feel I didn't appreciate the him. The bartender shouldn't get shit . You get tips wen u deliver . Not when u r so busy flirting that my food is on the table before the drink. Tacos - meeehhh... didn't takes like Mexican tacos. Felt like I was eating Taco Bell quesadilla . Sons burrito n taco had that boiled chicken smell n taste. Gross. One n done place. Overpriced with shitty food n service.
