Placed an order for pickup through Uber Eats and when I made the trip, was told they didn't have any food and that they called me. They didn't. The place itself looked dirty and the food looked like it had been out for hours uncovered and unventilated. They also marked the order as completed/picked up so Uber could not refund me. An Uber agent said they contacted the restaurant and explained the situation and they denied saying they were out of food and that I made an error with the order. After a 24-hour hassle with Uber, they finally refunded the money. Very dishonest and dirty business establishment. Don't be fooled by the 4.4 rating. It is not real. I had high hopes for this place but.... Most of my meal as well as my friends was in-edible. The rice, beans, and cabbage was fine-but the meat? Barely meat. My jerk chicken was mainly bones and my friend's jerk pork mainly fat. See photos. My friend got a spicy beef patty as well which he said was no better than the one he buys at the dollar store. On top of the food being disappointing the guy tried to charge my friend 30$ for a medium plate and one beef patty. We had to point out that that did not align with their advertised price. After passing this little place for a few years and hearing the Caribbean music we finally made it for lunch. All I can say is that the oxtails were melt in your mouth. Amazing flavors also in the jerk chicken and tender not dried out at all. Cabbage was so good as was the rice and peas. Enough to feed a really hungry person and it did not disappoint. The people there were so friendly and made us feel welcome. I almost forgot to mention the real, homemade, fresh squeezed lemonade!! Loved it!! We saw someone recommend this place on Facebook, so we decided to give it try for dinner tonight. The Oxtail was everyone's favorite. It was so tender - the meat fell right off the bone - and the flavors were so delicious. The jerk chicken was also tasty. I've never had jerk chicken before, so this was a great first experience. The chicken had a beautiful smokey flavor and the texture was perfect! As for the stew chicken - the flavor was there, but (not sure if it was just our serving) it was full of small bone shards which was a hassle to carefully pick out. We ordered all of the dishes in medium and they serve a generous portion with rice and cabbage on the side. Wait time was quick (~5 mins)! I will say the plantains were not good - they were dry (almost rubbery), cold, and hard which was disappointing. One of my favorite Caribbean restaurants out here on the island. Literally everything we order from here is so good. We recently just used them to cater a party we had. The rice and peas was cooked to perfection along with the plantain, jerk chicken and oxtails. Even the beef Patti was delicious, and had the perfect amount of spice on it. I'm in love with their oxtails it's so flavorful. My only downfall to this place is that I never been here in person I have always sent someone else to pick it up for me. I had my husband pick me up an oxtail dish to go. I checked their website and the medium was priced at $12.99 and the large was $16.99 advertised. However, it ended up being $21. It was delicious with the beans and rice. The oxtail was very flavorful and loved the spices used. No complaint on the food. I did not expect such an authentic Caribbean drive-through restaurant in Port Jeff. The curry shrimp tasted close to the one that my dearly, departed West Indian parents (both from Montserrat) treated the family to on some Friday evenings. There was a heaping amount of jumbo shrimp, which came with a side of rice and peas, cabbage and plantains. I mixed the curry into the cabbage for spectacular flavor. To drink, I asked for homemade ginger beer. The owner Steve, who is Queens-raised by Jamaican parents; and his hospitable El Salvadorian-American wife, Lucy; said that that they ran out. I do not like bottled ginger beer, so instead I had the bottled "Pat's Erotics" sorrel, which was tasty. The fruitcake was good but a tad dry. Some rum would have moistened it, and I told the owner so, and he took my criticism well. If anybody is ever in Port Jeff and wants some authentic Caribbean food, try Caribbean Flavors. read more

I'm so glad this place opened up because there aren't many West Indian restaurants on Long Island. I drive past and have been wanting to try it because of the bright paint job--so that drew me in. This was the best Caribbean food I've ever had and I've had really good Caribbean food in Barbados, Costa Rica, etc. This was better than them all. Got the curry chicken and jerk chicken with Mac and cheese, rice and beans, corn bread, and some delicious cabbage marinated in some sort of amazing seasonings. The flavor of everything was so good! While I was driving by, this place caught my eyes with its bright yellow and green colors. After work, I immediately dropped by to pickup jerk chicken, oxtail and red snapper. Right away the aroma filled my car, making my mouth salivate the entire way home. Without any hesitation, we devoured the food when I got home. The service is incredibly friendly, prices are wonderful, and the food is top notch! Located on Patchogue Rd in PJ Station, this place looks like an old dairy barn with the drive thru. It's situated between Speedway & Carvel. There is a fairly large parking lot. This is a drive thru/ walk in convenience store. Due to the quarantine, they have drive thru service only right now. The service was so friendly. I called in my order because I know the oxtails are popular and sometimes they sell out. They told me the order would be ready in 10 minutes. This place is quick. When I arrived, my order was ready to go and piping hot. The prices are wonderful! Patties are just $3 a piece. They have various specials of the day posted on their Facebook page. The food...so delicious... better than food I've had in the Caribbean on vacation! Thinking about the food is currently making my mouth water as I type this. Everything was expertly prepared and the servings were incredibly generous. I decided to order the oxtail because it's always one of my favorite Caribbean dishes. This place knocked it out of the park! The oxtail was so tender, almost melting in my mouth. 100% addicted. The gravy on top of the oxtail gave that umami flavor. The rice, cabbage, and plantain were cooked great and packed with flavor. I decided on the large order which was perfect for me (big appetite). For $16, I got lunch & dinner combined! A really nice surprise to find solid Caribbean food in Suffolk County, let alone in Port Jeff! We love Caribbean oxtail, and will have it whenever we get the chance. I really like that they serve their platters with cabbage, instead of collard greens. The cabbage is a nice balance to all the flavors of the oxtail, jerk, etc. The oxtail stew/gravy today was just a little bit on the salty side, but still okay. I would have preferred a little less salt, so you can taste the other flavors more. I feel like they could have cooked down the ox tail more too, so each piece has meat falling off the bone. And slightly more meaty oxtails would be nice. But that's just me being picky at this point. I'm really happy to have discovered this little takeout spot, and looking forward to coming by again in the future to try the jerk chicken. Support this business! We came for takeout during the pandemic. The food is delicious but too salty. The curry shrimp, the braised oxtail, and the rice accompanying both entrees, had great flavor, but too much salt added, otherwise they definitely would have received 5 stars. The Mac and cheese was absolutely delicious! And the oxtail was unctuous and perfectly cooked. We also got the carrot cake, which was ok, a little dry.
