This place is terrible. They don't have enough workers so the wait is long. I ordered two plates and this older lady was plating my food but I noticed that one had way less than the other. I told her that it wasn't even and instead of just fixing it. She instead replied "oh yeah you think it's not even?" I responded again yes, that it wasn't even. She then told me "In life things are not even". She even told me that it is "very expensive" to make this food. I didn't go there for life lessons. I just went there for my food and she's extremely rude for speaking to me like this. I don't understand why I had to go back and forth with this lady but she's just straight up RUDE. The food was not fresh at all and they don't cover the food so it was cold. I ordered 2 medium Rasta pastas with 2 quarter half chicken for $55! That's so wild! They charge you extra if you want the chicken on the side. And on top of that the food smelt spoiled. I couldn't eat it so it ended up straight in the GARBAGE. I randomly found this place looking for a halal grocery store. I finally tried it yesterday and to my surprise there is a Jamaican restaurant on Long Island that's STILL authentic. For a while we'll have Jamaican restaurants pop up and close within a few years and that ONE that's been around forever caters to one demographic of people and there for it lacks flavor. Anyways to the food. I came for the cooked up fish but saw they had roti so I wanted to get that. Unfortunately they didn't have the curry chicken wasn't ready so I stuck with the cook up fish. The flavor was there very authentic I tasted all the seasonings and it tasted very fresh. I also got a chicken Patty that was also really good and flaky. I do wish that the Patty had more filling. I always split it in the middle to make sure I got filling and not crust and I had to take an additional bite to taste the filling... other than that it was good. When I walked in they were blasting Caribbean his irl music and the customers were just vibing. As I was eating an older man also walked in and started dancing. Very high energy. There is a stereotype that if the food is good than the workers automatically come with an attitude. But that that wasn't my experience the vibes were good and the food was better. Was craving a traditional Jamaican breakfast so I ordered an ackee and saltfish breakfast with boiled food and had it delivered. It was really good. I also ordered a side of fried dumplings and thought it was cute in the shape of a knot. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I don't have a picture because the food went that quickly. Absolute best Jamaican food I have tried so far on the island... curry goat and rice is sooooooo good and oxtail is always on point and melts in your mouth! It could be alittle more spicy but other than that it's perfect. Fish was good too with the pickled peppers, the Rasta pasta is excellent and spicy. Just the way I like it. The only things I don't like: the beef patties, callalloo and the jerk chicken. Also the porridge and the ackee and saltfish is *chefs kiss*. I order from here atleast once a week.
