    Goat Roti
    Shernell H.

Disclaimer: this review is solely based on a takeout order. So, the first few words that immediately comes to mind are massive portions and affordable. For my introductory meal to Caribbean Grill, I decided on the Goat Roti. In my opinion, the Goat Roti was basically two servings, which was approximately $15 (a win). As it relates to taste, for me, I was expecting a little bit my flavoring and succulent-ness (lol I know it's not a word) of the goat with more potatoes on the inside of the roti. But overall, it was okay. I will definitely be open to trying another dish (when I am in the area) to make another assessment of the Caribbean Grill.

Yall can go ahead and run to this here spot. Actually friendly/kind service (don't usually find that for Caribbean food spots lol) and a nice clean open space. That goat roti is something I would come back for weekly! That and their beef patties - so good! Beef and chicken patties both have just a little spice so if you don't like a little kick then don't get it. I thought it was mild but noticeable. Both patties were a great size and meat to bread ratio. Perfect snack on the go. I found the oxtail to be sweeter than I would go for but was cooked well. The goat had great flavor and the roti was cooked perfectly. I'll be back whenever I'm back that way

The 1 star is for the portion. This was very disappointing. The amount of unseasoned sauce on this chicken you would think the chicken wouldn't be dry. Nope, dry, a little hard and random bones in the sauce. The sauce barely had flavor. The rice is just ok and the cabbage eh.

Came here because I was looking for some roti... the food was hot and delicious and plentiful. They give you so much food which is a plus. Also got coco bread and a chicken patty. The coco bread was okay as far as the chicken patty I had better. The people are nice and courteous. The restaurant is also nice and clean.

BBQ jerk wings and shrimp roti The shrimp literally falls apart. I am so disappointed. No flavor.

Shrimp roti and bbq jerk wings. Shrimp literally falls apart and has no flavor at all. Extremely disappointed.

So this place is in District Heights. It's ran with a crew of two. I love some Jamaican food so I stopped in. The lady was super nice and sweet. The Jamaican ma cooking was also nice. The only down fall was it was dirty in the eating area. My food had lint in it so I just threw it away. We ordered a Jerk Chicken Sandwich, wings, coco bread, and a vegetable stir fry. I want to give them a better review but the lint did it for me. The bread is freshly cooked there so it was soggy immediately after ordering. There was just too much ranch. Probably wouldn't come back unless someone I knew was in a dire craving for this.

Ordered vegetable roti & got dry bland cabbage in half cooked roti... was told I should've asked what was in it beforehand, but who only expects cabbage in VEGETABLE roti? Went here to cheer me up from a rough day & this just made it worse... never again.

Okay, I can be very hard to please when it comes to Jamaican food. The food looked good and the wait time wasn't long. The price was fair ($10 for small jerk wing meal) However the taste was bony that authentic taste of great Jamaican food. For example the rice and peas was very bland, and the bbq jerk wings just tasted like spicy bbq baked chicken.... Will I visit again? Maybe. I just wish the flavor would stand out.

This was my first time here at this restaurant. I ordered takeout thru the Yelp app and my food was ready by the time that was estimated. I ordered the curry goat and oxtail combination platter with a beef patty as an appetizer. First, my oxtail and curry goat was so flavorful, the rice was perfect and the cabbage nice and crunchy the way I like it. Everything flowed together nicely and was seasoned perfectly. Next, the beef patty. Whew. I was not expecting how spicy it was but it was soooo good. I wish I had gotten 2 or 3 for later. It was crispy and hot. A nice size also. Overall, I would definitely come here again.

Second, the selection is huge. They pretty much have almost everything you expect in an AYCE place. Chinese hot food, Japanese sashimi, Korean BBQ, vegan salad, drinks, ice cream. They even have snow crab and lobster claws the day we were there. They also had "buddha jumping over the wall" soup - if you know what it is. One thing is that my empty plates were piling up before they were taken away, but I guess it was Saturday and they were busy. Overall the food selection was amazing. I only wish their desserts are better... I thought the little roll/balls in the frig was mochi... but no... it was something with unpleasant texture - they tasted like silicon... Other than that, I think this place is the best Asian AYCE I have tried in the US. If we are ever in Maryland and in the area we will definitely come back.

Most buffets have typically the same things but this one exceeded my standards. I loved the build your own hot pot, the meat tasted so fresh and it was very tender. They had a massive sushi selection with sauce bottles for eel sauce and spicy mayo. A bunch of hot and cold bars. Even a diy boba bar! Everything i tried tasted really good. They have workers who go around and make sure the service areas are clean of food and such which i liked. It was very clean. Would i make the drive again? YES but also i heard there's an alexandria location opening this year!

We weren't finished, and were allotted 2 hours to our spot at the buffet. She came back around while we continued to talk and enjoy our two hours and gave me the receipt. Instead of leaving while I paid, she stood and waited for me to finish signing the check. She saw that I did not leave a tip (it was 67 dollars for 20 minutes and we felt rushed) and verbally said "no pay?" I felt pressured to leave 5 dollars while she looked over my shoulder. I returned the receipt and she said "just 5?" And I said "yes," and then she corrected my math on the receipt because I hadn't changed the total. We rushed out, uncomfortable and deciding not to return. I've never had a waitress (who we only saw once before she rushed us out) force me into a social situation where I felt obligated to tip. I don't make a lot, I was taking my loved ones out to enjoy 2 hours and got 20 minutes and a really uncomfortable experience both due to the humidity and the staff. The food was OK. Everything was mostly dry, but decent. Not worth 73 dollars.

Went to Sunday dinner with some friends last week. Even though I live right down the street from…read morethis buffet, I hadn't visited it yet. I was wondering how it compared to Charm City Buffet, which I have been to several times. I assumed that it would be about the same, if not a tad bit worse, because it's smaller than Charm City Buffet. I am pleased to say that I WAS WRONG. Jeremy, Justin and I all thought that Best Buffet was better. The people cooking the food actually want it to taste good, instead of throwing whatever up on the buffet line thinking quality doesn't matter. I managed to eat two plates of food, which doesn't seem like a lot, but I had some big honkin' portions of meat. Everything was incredible, and I wish I could have unzipped my stomach and continued to eat. The roast pork was so tender and delicious. The spare rib meat came right off the bone and was sticky with that great hoisin-flavored Chinese sauce. The crawfish were spicy. All the Chinese dishes tasted like something you would get at a quality take-away. The sweet and sour chicken nuggets were crispy, and you get to sauce them yourself, so they stay that way. Jeremy couldn't get enough of the pepper steak and onions. Justin was the only one to take advantage of the hibachi - which he liked, but said it could use more vegetables to choose from. He would have liked some broccoli and mushrooms. I'm not sure if those things were available over at the salad bar, but if they were I feel like the manager of the buffet should consider moving the salad ingredients closer to the hibachi, so customers realize they have more choice. The shrimp were okay. I think I may be eating them wrong. I don't understand the seasoned coating on the outer shell. I peel off the shell, and thus all the coating, so why is it there? I ate half a dozen of them, though, so don't think I'm going to let my confusion stop me from eating shrimp whenever possible. Sharon, our other friend, wanted to pay for Jeremy and I, but didn't factor in the fact that prices are higher on the weekends and during dinner (she picked the time and day), so I ended up paying for myself because the price for two was already more than she expected to pay. Personally, I thought for the selection of foods, and considering it was dinner, the price of approximately $22 per person wasn't bad. I think this is the reason why she said that she preferred Charm City Buffet (when we paid), though she claimed that she thought the food tasted better at CCB. Her favorite item at Best Buffet was the coconut shrimp (which I regret not trying, but I couldn't fit anything else in my belly). I do wish that there was something seriously chocolatey, like a brownie, on the dessert bar. I tried to soothe my sweet tooth with a slice of cake with chocolate mousse on top, but it just didn't cut it. This is my top buffet choice (for now. There's a new one being remodeled on North Point, behind the mall, that I'm eagerly awaiting). I feel like I could go there every week, try new things each time, and be just as pleased as I was on Sunday.

I arrived here from Ronald Regan Washington international airport and used the public transportation system to get here. Thankfully, they were open for dinner and I got seated right away. The restaurant itself was not big but not small either. It could accommodate 50 people at any given time. I arrived here around 5:30 PM on a brisk Wednesday evening. It was nice to be here because of the travel that I had done the day before to get here. With that said, I spent a good amount of time eating my way through the station that they had. I was quite famished because of the air travel and definitely was looking forward to diving in. I ended up having most of the seafood related items first before diving into a second round of the seafood again I ended up with a plate of carbohydrates, mostly pasta and rice before ending the meal with a full stomach and a happy smile on my face. Definitely worth coming here because of the unlimited items that they had. At least it felt unlimited because of the share volume of food that they put out on any given day. I spent about an hour here trying to get full value for my meal which happened to be around $15-$20 with out tax and gratuity. Feeling pretty good when I've dived in. Bloated when I finally said I had enough. It was worth the effort though! If you're in the area and wouldn't love a good Chinese themed inspired buffet, consider coming here to this one in Alexandria, Virginia. I certainly recommend this one for sure. The overall experience here at this Golden Buffet restaurant in Alexandria, Virginia was very good. I overdid it calories wise, but I was on vacation. I sat near the food, which small wonderful and Daphne made me think that I could eat a lot more than I normally can on any given day. At least the price was fixed so that you can indulge beyond what you can for a fixed price. That's what I love about a buffet and the Golden buffet here in Alexandria Virginia is no different. The ambience here was very good and quiet for sure. It was just me and my stomach hurting all the food that I was eating. Once in a while, the server comes to check up on me to see if I had needed any water or anything else to drink during my stay. While the food is mass produced, you can feel that there is pride and love that goes into making such delicious dishes every day. They basically have the traditional Chinese food dishes that most Americans would enjoy, as well as other dishes that local Chinese in the area would enjoy as well. So they have a lot of stuff that can pique the curiosity of both. I eat a bunch of vegetables during my stay but majority of the food that I had was the seafood, considering that's usually the most expensive items on the menu anyway. And so, if you love buffet and Chinese food, consider coming here in the Alexandria area if you're hungry for something that would carry your dinner plans as definitely scratch that Chinese food fix that you've been craving all day long. The Golden buffet restaurant is located in Alexandria Virginia. It is physically located at 7820 Richmond Highway, a few miles from the Ronald Reagan Washington International Airport. I took the metro and a local bus to get here, which was okay. The rush hour in DC is pretty much crazy but I made it work. For the most part though, my experience here at the Golden Buffet Alexandria was good and cozy. As I write this, I'm full to the max and don't really regret it at the moment. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, they have a small parking area for y'all who drive. If you're like me, public transportation is available (DC metro and other public buses) for anyone and everyone who wishes to come and dine here. And of course, there's Uber and Lyft and Empower at your convenience. If you're looking for something that can fill your stomach at a reasonable price, consider coming here for your next meal in the DC / Alexandria area. Oh maybe you could probably skip a meal or so just to make room to get real value for your money. That's what I did when I came. Tried the chicken and broccoli - the chicken was decent and the broccoli wasn't overcooked/mushy at all. The sushi selection is not extensive, but it looked fresh and there was salmon sashimi also available. The sashimi were small cube pieces that were good. Only negative was the steak.
