My partner and I had a nice dinner here Friday night. We were seated and enjoyed cutting pieces from their two fish fillets (salmon and a white fish), oysters, whole crab, shrimp, a variety of Chinese dishes, extensive salad bar, soft serve ice cream and decent cakes for dessert. The service was quite good for a buffet - staff were pleasant and worked hard. The hot and sour soup was good. Tried the chicken and broccoli - the chicken was decent and the broccoli wasn't overcooked/mushy at all. The sushi selection is not extensive, but it looked fresh and there was salmon sashimi also available. The sashimi were small cube pieces that were good. Only negative was the steak. There was a side of beef where you could cut off pieces. We each took a small piece. Both of them were very, very tough and chewy. We couldn't eat them. Too bad, because the rest of the food was good. Although the steak was inedible, the ribs were quite good. My partner said the crab was quite good - not large, but well prepared and tasty. There was a warning sign by the oysters about worms being natural to oysters and might be present in the oyster. I didn't see any, but I ate two and then later saw the sign and didn't have any more. buffet is in a shopping center with plenty of free parking and plenty of seating inside. there also have restrooms. it's pay at the front register before you sit down. the price for the buffet is the cheapest I've been to. they do not serve alcohol here. the selection of food here is larger than most buffets I've been to. they offer hot food, make your own noodle bar had a variety of ingredients, salad bar had large quantities of fruits and vegetables with various pasta salads. different types of hot soups. the dessert bar had a lot of options and the servings pieces was larger than other places and includes soft serve ice cream. there were multiple sauces stations with plenty of different sauces. they have some sushi, but they were smaller and simple rolls. the quality of food was ok, good for a buffet and very good for what you pay. buffet line trays was constantly being refilled with food when it got low. plenty of plates, bowls and spoons every table has it's own box of plenty of napkins. the service was attentive, constantly clearing the tables. After weight loss surgery, I can't possibly eat enough to justify dining in, but I do like sushi that hasn't been sitting in a grocery store all day, and I like a little bite of each of my favorites. What I hate, hate, hate is this nonsense where there's one price for "regular " food but then the price goes up if there's any sushi, seafood, or steak in the box. Dine-in customers aren't subject to a surcharge for these items, although they do have a few scolding hand-written signs. Charge one price! read more

Very long time ago, I used to work in Laurel and my coworkers and I would frequent a large Chinese buffet. Everything there was pretty greasy but they had a lot of variety. I usually feel sick from all the greasy after the meal but it was kinda guilty pleasure for me. I forgot the name so I searched for a buffet and this came up. So I cam to it but it was not the same one. I figure I give it a try. As you can see, it's pretty spacious and has a great variety of food. Pretty clean and pretty cheap as well. There are a lot to like but couple of things I would stay away from. The crawfish was good. I enjoyed that very much. The Korean Galbi tasted good too but was very greasy. The fresh grill section is nice but I would just get the shrimp or chicken option as the beef was tough. In fact, most of the beef and pork was tough. Over cooked and cheaper cuts do not bode well for texture. Also the water had some chlorinated taste? Didn't like it so may have to opt for the soda option. And perhaps because I was bit more judicious in what and how much I ate, I didn't get the greasy nauseous feeling afterwards. I really don't care for any all you can stuff down your gut restaurants. If Dante's hell was a reality, a lot of folks here would be on one level or the other. However the boss likes it and so l must go. If you have any taste buds in your mouth, don't waste them here. It's always crowded so the food is hot so it's got that working for it. Other than that, the chicken dishes l had were almost inedible, the broccoli was very hard, but the salad bar had fresh veggies so they get nod for that too! Tasted room temperature to cool. It didn't taste fresh the meat and the rice tasted hard. We got there by at least 330. The gentleman said that the food was put out by three fresh food now I have never set any food out that got hard within 30 minutes that Food looked and tasted like it was sitting there from the morning I always get sushi when I go into a buffet and the sushi here looked very old very nasty, and there were no gloves being used at all. The customer service is very poor upon waiting for a server to come bring us drinks. He was sitting in the corner on his phone. This place is a no for me. Even my daughter wouldn't touch her food, she took one bite of everything on her plate and stopped there. This was far from satisfying. Went for lunch and I'd have to say the food is nothing crazy but it was good none the less (some of the chicken items were a little dry). The price won't break the bank either (just a side note your drink isn't included). This my third time visiting the buffet and I like the large selection they have. Two out of three times the food was not hot enough. In fact almost cold. Is this healthy ? Update after leaving the first review, I got up to get more food and found a hair in the fried fish. I alerted the waitress without making a screen and decided to tell the manager how much I enjoy the buffet but the food was not hot and that I found a hair in my food. The manager stated it's nothing they can do about that and even the health department knows it. He went on to say it's from the customers. I said how, it was in the batter of the fish? They have a wide selection of foods. I have two.The price is not bad and the services is Ok. I think the best thing about this place is the Mongolian bar. You get to choose a good selection of veggies and meats for your dish. I also really liked the fresh fruit bar. They also have some traditional American food items like steak, mashed potatoes, pizza, wings, Mac and cheese. I wish the properly labeled their foods. Some of the items are obvious but others are not. Most items do not have labels. They do have some labels but they are typically not above the dish. The muscles were not delicious. Couple of things I want to leave here, the food options are great, food quality is excellent in flavor. Now the service is awfully ignorant, I came in with my family a group of 6, our server served our drinks and was keeping up with the cleanliness of our table, so 3pm they took out red crabs which are my sister in laws favorite & on top she is pregnant. mind you we got here at 2:25pm, as my sister in law is eating her crabs our server comes to her and tells her is she gets up for another crab she'll have to pay extra because it's "dinner", no where did it say the crabs are only for dinner or when we paid the hostess didn't inform us about anything! I went there for a carry out box that they charge about 8, or 9 etc a pound. All I got was broccoli, Plantain and mushrooms. Interesting place. An absolutely massive selection of foods. And a huge place to eat in -- looked like it could hold 200+ people at their various tables. On the plus side, there were 6 or 7 ginormous serving areas each with its own 'theme': Asian, traditional American (you know, like fried chicken and french fries), some seafood, salads and fruits, and desserts. There is also a Mongolian BBQ section: pick your meats, veggies, sauces, and other stuff, and they cook it all for you. The waitstaff seemed to be having a nice time -- lots of smiles and laughing. Really the only downside is that it's not really the best food around. But ... so what?? It was definitely good enough. I went with a buddy for lunch, we enjoyed it, and I have a feeling this'll be a new go-to place for us for lunches. So ... not the best, but by far not the worst. We enjoyed the stop in today for this buffet and for 20 bucks each, whats not to like. There were so many offerings that is was hard to decide what to have. The food is buffet quality, so I can say it was all fresh and cooked. The fruits were really good and the desserts decent. We tried a little of everything and there were no complaints. G is for Grand E Buffet Introduction: Moved to Anne Arundel County (Russett) about 2.5 miles from here in November. Been here twice. Once was in October after doing some moving and then another time in January. The main difference was that October was dine-in, and January was to-go as there was no indoor dining in PG County in January. Both were vastly different experiences, but great food and a large variety. Sunday, October 17 & The funny experience: My friend/ex-gf helped with moving one Sunday night, and afterward, we were trying to figure out what to eat. We were on the same page of figuring out a local place in Maryland City, but options were limited. We called one, and they were to-go only because of Covid. One was about to close. There was a Mexican place I saw on Yelp, but she didn't want to go for that as it was connected to a gas station. I still need to try that place. We ended up driving west and in the end ate in nearby PG County. I didn't want a Chinese buffet at around 9 PM, but we walked in JB Atlantic Restaurant, and the music was blaring loud. So, desperate we ended up, we ate at the Chinese buffet at 9 at night. We were both very hungry, but a Chinese buffet and at 9 PM does not help my weight. But we got our money's worth. I was skeptical of the sushi at a Chinese buffet, but it was surprisingly good. They had a large variety of various meats, seafood, veggies. There were maybe one or two things that were weak, but the vast majority of the items were delicious. The cashier & server who brought drinks were friendly. Water service was a little slow, and I did get up to ask. They should probably leave the water pitcher on the table. The price was $14.99, which was surprisingly reasonable for the high quality buffet. Looking at their website, Sunday is their most expensive buffet day...ugh. Dinner Mon-Thurs: $13.99, Fri-Sat: $14.49. After we finished, we went to the restroom. And the lights went off while in there, I was thinking it was a motion detector, but it wasn't. Then, when I left the restroom, I noticed all the lights were out. It was only a few minutes after the 10 PM closing time. Then, we realized we were locked in! Luckily, a worker who was starting to drive off saw us, and called the manager who had the key. The manager had to drive back, just a couple of minutes. But being locked in after closing time was a first in my entire life! Tuesday, January 19: I was very hungry that night, and the Chinese buffet was off my radar. Essentially, I was thinking of trying a local pizza place. Then, drove off to Royal Farms to get the delicious fried chicken, but it was crowded in there, and I was trying to be more abundantly cautious in January from Covid as I had essential air travel and needed to be healthy. I already was on the westbound 198 and decided to support the Chinese buffet during the difficult no dine in at that time in PG County. I was curious to see how it would be as I had never done a Chinese buffet to go. The closest thing was the Famous Rotisserie in the food court of Wheaton Mall. That place gives you a to-go container (in 2019) for $8.99 and you fill as much as you want. In this case, they would weigh by the pound. $5.99/lb for non-seafood & $6.99/lb for seafood. Of course, I picked seafood because I remembered the seafood & sushi were delicious and lots of options. $6.99/lb seemed reasonable. My strategy was to be biased to the seafood, and I loaded up. I felt the weight of the container, and it was feeling a little heavy and was getting nervous, but there were a couple of things I still wanted. In the end, my total was $16.31, which was about 50 cents more than the buffet after tax. Of course, in the restaurant you tip for the water/drink service, but you get the better experience of eating in the restaurant and going back for more. I got home eating at 6:45. It was still delicious, but it wasn't an ideal situation as a couple of items got kind of cold. Food was more mixed together in a container than on a plate, and the food at the bottom tended get eatin' last, which was the food I got first and therefore, some things were a little cold. Still delicious, but next time I'll dine-in there. Probably next time will be a while as I need to lose weight. In spite of some minor issues & challenge, I highly recommend. read more

6/18/22 As Lamar Jackson asked the world, "You 8 yet?" The answer to the question is "yes." The food is delicious and fresh. 99% of the food is great. The cantaloupe in some parts were not so good. I liked the sink near the bathrooms to be a hand washing station before one eats. The men's bathroom was being cleaned when I walked in. There is plenty of seating when we arrived, but the place was filling up fast when we left. I often wonder how many people take advantage of an all you can eat buffet? Our server did well with refilling our drinks and removing out dirty dishes. I did not catch her name, but she did inform me there is no wifi in this restaurant. Pity. I have intentionally waited several weeks since our visit to ensure I was giving a fair read on this place. We had been away in IL from 2017 to Jan 2021. We had a very good buffet spot out there. However of course with the pandemic we never got to go back after they closed in March of 20. So had actually been craving the simple joy of making combinations of dishes. The secret thrill of eating a bit more than you should-but somehow convincing yourself that its okay because its healthy things (rarely). We were in the area so took a shot and went in. I realized once inside that I had actually been here years ago. Maybe it had a different name. I actually remember the spot being an Olde Country Buffet (or at least there was one in the same plaza). It was a Saturday afternoon, so prime time for lunch, but place was not that busy. There were still masking requirements. [A quick non political aside. My Biology degree is 35 years dated...but if you have your mask off to eat and drink in the same room that you previously had to have a mask on in, are you really protecting anything? Do virus politely wait while you are eating?] The food was well presented in the standard buffet style, there are plenty of different things to choose. My primary complaint is that everything (with a few exceptions) tasted strangely the same. It didn't taste bad, there was just no real difference between beef & brocoli and chicken & green beans. All the fried items tasted similar, and vaugley of stale oil. I do want to give this place another chance a few motnhs after Covid has waned, masks requirements are gone, and they have had a chance to get their profits back up. (May bring improvement in the food, fewer shortcuts). The old building also needs to good deep cleaning and a decorating refresh. read more

After putting it off for months, I finally tried the GrandE Buffet tonight with my girlfriend. It was the first buffet I've been to in probably 20 years and I don't think I'll try another any time soon. The service was decent, our waitress made sure drinks were full and cleared off empty plates. No flies or pests or anything which was good (and something you can't take for granted in Laurel). Aside from the service (which gets most of the one star in this one star review), though, there's little to offer. The macaroni and cheese was bland, fried chicken wings had a weird texture and were a little undercooked, the prime rib was rubbery, the pork ribs overcooked and inedible, the Chinese food tasted off but I'm not completely sure how. I'm not a big seafood person but my girlfriend tried the fried shrimp - it was soggy. She didn't dare try any other seafood. It didn't look right. Our napkin dispenser said the restaurant offered Mexican food but if there was any, I didn't see it The mashed potatoes and gravy were good but it's hard not to mess that up. The dessert selection was decent - the soft serve ice cream was super tasty but there weren't any bowls available for those who prefer bowls to cones. A decent variety of cakes - chocolate, carrot, vanilla. Vanilla soft serve and carrot cake were probably the best parts of my meal overall. But it just couldn't save the rest of the meal. read more

This place is huge, for a good buffet experience with a clean feel and a great selection of all kinds of good food. This is really catered towards many different tastes with the variety they offer. One of the best things is that the staff are friendly and are constantly ensuring your table is clean each time you go back to the buffet and refill drinks before you get thirsty. Let me first start off by saying I try to provide the best feedback that I can when reviewing a restaurant. Today's experience was something I have not experienced in a very long time. I'm posting this, so the restaurant owners can take responsibility to fix the problem so that it doesn't happen again to someone else. And although when the incident happened, the manager on duty was apologetic and gave me a full refund. She handled the situation professionally and said that she would convey the situation to the owner. my family and I visited this restaurant today, we drove from Stafford, Virginia to Laurel Maryland, because we heard the seafood selection was wonderful. When we entered the establishment, it was packed. We only waited in line for short time before we were seated, we then proceeded to the Buffet area to select our food. The food was mediocre, pretty average for a Buffet, the pricing was reasonable. They had a wide selection of seafood, salad, desserts. My wife saw that they offered Pho her favorite, she had a bowl created and served to her. When she started to eat, she discovered that there was an insect in her soup. After seeing this, we lost our appetite and reported it to the manager. She immediately refunded my money and we left.
