I, my wife and my daughter took a minute to make up our minds and the order taker was patient with us. (We dont eat jerk very often) As we gave the chef/cashier our order she said the total was $84.50. After a few "wtf" and "how?", the chef/cashier said she could text the receipt. The prices are on the menu over our heads so we can see that they DON'T add up to some $84.50 3 chicken tacos $11, Oxtail dinner $29 and a jerk chicken Philly $17...granted it was getting there but damn how much tax do they charge?! When we asked about the total difference, she shows us the receipt and EVERYTHING was at least $6 dollars extra. You might say "but how come the price isn't reflected on the overhead menu?" To start, the restaurant has actually changed their name to "Jordyn's Jerk Palace. The food was ok but waaaaay to SALTY! I mean instant high blood pressure salty. Thankfully, the cook was understanding enough to remake my order without the jerk seasoning. Still salty, but not as much. I ordered a fish dinner. I started this process by calling over the phone and they hung up. There were certain items that were unavailable to me. I was told a 20min wait. Once coming back after said time I still had to wait which isn't an issue for me. While waiting for the meal I paid for I was told that I couldn't get any sweet potatoes for the meals I had. They had a catering order that had sweet potatoes. I did comply and swapped for something else. Before getting my food I wanted to ask the lady for a small compensation of a peach cobbler and she told me "No Sir". I politely told her I was a woman and I appreciate her work efforts and she turned around and began to say rude comments. I don't engage with people that are rude and disrespectful to me so I left feeling uncomfortable. Unfortunately I will not be back to this establishment but I think this can be use in the effort to have better customer service. This event also happed to a customer there with me. There was silver hair in my mac n cheese. Additionally, I ordered the catfish lunch and received one full piece and the other piece was a burnt tail with hardly any meat and the cabbage was so undercooked it should've just been salad. When I called back to express my concerns, the cashier told me I needed to specify what portions of fish I wanted, when I stated that it should've been explained by the establishment and not left up to the customer to guess what portions were available, she hung up the phone. I already went twice and planning to visit soon to try they jerk chicken salad. Customer service is nice. They were really helpful when I came in for my first visit. When I went the second time, I thought i was going to have to wait for awhile but I had my food within 30mins (wasn't a big deal). I love jerk chicken and order both times on separate occasions but switched up the sides. I ordered dark meat with cabbage and also dark meat with Mac and cheese. The Mac and Cheese is DELICIOUS!! Yes it's cheesy!! They know exactly what they doing with the Mac and cheese. The jerk chicken is great too but I love the jerk sauce it's very spicy like it suppose to be! Cabbage is good too! I made my first pass through to give this place a try. My usual game plan is to go in and grab something on the cheap. So, I'll go in and I'll try something under $10. This place is somewhat pricey, not break the bank pricey. So, usually for my first drive-through I'll try that first itemI and if it is up to par, I'll go back in and I'll spend the $20-$35, which will probably be the price after you grab two items or so. Everyone has their own strategy. While I was in the restaurant, someone came in and asked everyone that was seated or waiting was the place any good. The only thing with that is that my grandmother used to say ... good means different things to different people. I only ordered a half mixed chicken. My wait time was under seven minutes. There were a few other people, that expressed that they had a longer wait. The restaurant was already packed. Strongly suggested that you make your order by calling ahead, to reduce your wait time. Place seems to be clean, however, it should be seeing that it is brand new. The kitchen is not see-through. They do except credit cards without a service charge. The chicken was actually quite excellent! And, the sauce has just the right amount of kick (also tasty). I will definitely be back to try some of the other things that caught my eye on the menu. Four instance: jerk lobster tail, jerk shrimp and an item that wasn't on the main menu ...oxtails. They do offer some items on the daily special menu that are not on the regular menu, so definitely be aware of that. Would definitely suggest trying to spot out! I wish the chicken could've been a bit spicier just cause I love spicy food, but the food was still great.
