Can't lie, I go here once a week or every two for lunch. And I get the same thing, the jerk bbq ribs plate. With the rib plate I typically get about three meaty ribs. They're covered in a tangy, somewhat spicy sauce, and are tender. I mean, finger licking good delicious. The other items of rice and peas and cabbage are good and are plenty to fill you up paired with the ribs. The time from placing your order until getting your food usually takes about 15 maybe 20 minutes. And the price for everything is bad, typically comes in under $15. I've been to a few Jamaican restaurants in the area and this one seems to be the most consistent and best tasting if you ask me. So I highly recommend them. read more

They were super friendly (they came and joked around for us a bit). They had the classic slow-moving Jamaican restaurant vibe so it took a bit to get our food, but it's what I expected so it wasn't an issue for me at all cos I knew the food was about to be worth it. While we waited for our food, the lady gave us samples of her punch from the back. I don't even remember the number of fruits that were in it, but it was damn good. we promptly ordered 4 (there were only 3 of us lol). I got an oxtail plate. Very, very juicy and fall-off-the-bone tender. Good flavor. Plenty of oxtail gravy on the rice. Butter beans in the oxtail, which I'd never had before but I hear it's a popular way to make oxtail. The food here is so amazing. It's just a small hole in the wall restaurant with the owner and his wife working (didn't see anyone else). The owner was very friendly, the wife wasn't rude but not overly nice and attentive either. Worst complaint was we felt a little ignored both on arrival and when waiting to pay. But the food.... This is the best Caribbean spot in the city. There was another good one but they are temporarily closed and moving to a new location. I got the jerk chicken which is good. The chicken is really good, the cabbage it comes with it hard and needs to be cooked waaay longer. The plantain that is came with was good and the rice was okay. The sauce is really flavorful. I will be back for more of course. Not my first time. It hits the spot when you're craving islander food. Prices aren't bad either. Pairs 11.72 for the jerk chicken, (with taxes).
