Best fried chicken from a restaurant I've ever had. The gizzards are amazing and amazing value.

we've been wanting to try this for a while and finally made it out. overall, it's a pretty good fried chicken spot. we got the 10pc family meal and it was pretty good deal for $25. chicken was pretty good. batter was crispy and crunchy, chicken was juicy but it definitely didn't blow me away. i think kfc or popeyes has more of those strong seasonings which i prefer. still good nonetheless. we also ordered for dinner and im sure they mass fry these and have them sit ready to go so it may have been sitting for a while. mashed potatoes were good and chicken and dumplings were just okay. i wish they had mac and cheese as a side! we made some at home instead. my little interaction with the staff was good and they were nice and professional. i would come again in the future. read more

This is a locals favorite fast food fried chicken place. The chicken is nice and crispy, the red beans and rice was delicious, the mashed taters a little bland but good, the fried mushrooms were okay too, the star was the chicken legs and the chicken and dumplings. The lady at the register was nice and had good southern charm. I really liked it. read more

Really good fried chicken, better than KFC and Popeye's. This restaurant was very clean and well lit. It was busy here at dinner time but the staff was quick to take the orders and get the food to the customers in a quick and efficient manner. A very pleasant dining experience. Highly recommended. Do I want to recommend this place? Good grief, yes! In the south part of the county, there is no better chicken with sides. Their chicken tenders, superb! And you have to get some of the Danny's sauce and the jalapeno ranch. Sides are so yummy, biscuits excellent! read more

Have eaten here many times in the last twenty years, and unfortunately it has gone downhill. The restaurant was somewhat clean but not the best. The food was nothing like it was in years past. The chicken has no flavor, at all. Very bland and greasy. The dirty rice is still good, and the biscuits are improved. Not really sure what has changed over the years, but it's gotten to a point where Danny's Fried Chicken is only memories. It's a shame to have seen this business lose its mojo but as of today, I can no longer recommend it. Sad. read more

I got the gizzards and chicken. Okay the gizzards had a good flavor but the breading fell off. It also needed to be cooked a bit longer. Now the chicken had no flavor at all. Wow. I had heard things and this place lived up to the hype. The fried chicken is probably what I will order every single time. Chicken has great flavor, crunchy crust, and is juicy as all get out. Also love the Cole slaw. The potato salad was a meh for me unfortunately as was the pecan pie (too saucey and sweet). But omg yall.., that CHOCOLATE PIE. It is out of this world. Even if you only go for some chicken and choc pie, it's worth the trip! The chicken is spectacular and I've ordered here probably 10+ times being in the area. But out of those 10 times I have received the wrong drink 7-8 times. Instead of sweet tea they give me unsweetened tea. What's likely happening is the crew is too lazy to make new sweet tea so they stretch it with unsweetened. A drink costs around $3 and they've done this about 7 times now which means I've lost $21 simply ordering a drink from this establishment. It comes to a point where it's not a mistake it's actual robbery. Allowing a customer to pay for something and knowingly giving them the wrong thing is dishonest business practice. If you don't have sweet tea don't sell it to me! read more

This is truly a hidden gem in Niceville, FL! No wonder people drive hours for there fried chicken once word gets out! They have weekly daily specials too that change often. All of there pricey are super budget friendly to feed the entire family. The fried chicken is straight up delicious! No crazy recipes or added ingredients here. It's literally straight fried chicken with skin on lightly battered. Its super moist inside and so crispy. Every single side is delicious too. The total winner is the mash potatoes and omg that gravy is addictive. It's savory whitish creamy sauce that goes good on everything! But you can't go wrong with the BBQ beans, chicken dumplings, slaw or green beans. Don't forget your delicious sweet tea here too! It's got the perfect balance of sweetness to fresh tea flavor. For the specialty menu the fried fish is an absolutely must try that's only available on Thursdays and comes with two sides. These are like little fish sticks with the crispy batter. After several locals and nearby people raved about this place to my mom, we gave it a try. The first visit, she tried the gizzards. They were hot but they were tough. Not tinder at all. The second visit, we both got food. I ordered the chicken finger dinner with fries and slaw and she got the four wing special with fries. Spent damn near 17 dollars. They played with my money. Keep reading and you will see how. The fries were salty as all get out which made them inedible. Might as well had just poured salt in my hand and licked it. Fries were in a small bag like McDonald's small paper bag fries. They were hot though. I'll give them that credit. Didn't taste the cole slaw but when I pulled it out and saw the size of it, it was comical. It was about the size of a listerine cap. (Ok maybe not that small but I was tiny.) Chicken fingers? Must be the grinch chicken fingers because that's what they looked like. The "fingers" were so skinny. They had clearly been sitting under the warmer for a while and they were EXTRA greasy. I felt nothing but disrespect when I saw those chicken fingers. They are really getting over and robbing people. Then they have the nerve to give you what looks like a "lot" but if you put them all together you probably, barely have TWO REAL chicken fingers. Let's move on to the wings... Did they let the bird mature first? They were baby wings. I felt so bad for the bird. The wings were no bigger than my pinky. They were hard and dried out. They too had been sitting under the warmer for a while. I saw a few other reviews about the portion sizes and the prices not equating and I have to agree. It's ridiculous. We did bring the food back for a refund. The manager didn't seem to care either. Both experiences were disappointing. Definitely will NOT be coming back. Great local fried chicken joint! We've been going here since living in Niceville, and we have never chosen KFC or Popeye's over Danny's. They serve great portions of fried chicken... super crunchy on the outside and juicy & well cooked in the inside! The sides are delicious too. We've tried almost all their sides. You can't go wrong with any one of them. My only concern is that their gravy needs more seasoning, but we still love getting an extra side of it! My favorite side to get is the BBQ baked beans though. Sooo good! Their service is pretty fast too! Literally order and get your food within just a few minutes. First stop after a long day flying from the westcoast to here. It was a weekday, drive thru line was long but it was moving. We were behind 5 cars and wait time before placing an order was 2 minutes, so not bad at all. I ordered a 3 piece chicken meal, chicken dumpling (i think, i forgot lol), mash&gravy and pecan pie. Negative remarks - its rare to have a good moist fried breast. My piece was dry Positive remarks - chicken wings was bomb af! If I knew, I wouldve substituted the breast for the chicken wings instead. The sides tasted like mash&gravy and chicken dumpling, it wasnt bad but nothing spectacular to brag about. Pecan Pie - it took me four days to finish it lol im not a fan of super sweet dessert but I wanted to give it a try. I would still order another slice and it would still take 4 days for me to finish it bc its super sweet, and thats a good thing. I booked marked several places to try before coming down to visit Destin/niceville area. Danny's chicken was over the bridge, thru the $3 toll but we made it to niceville in search for this good ole fried chicken! I made my husband take the first bite. I was testing him to see if the chicken tasted better than mines!! (Sorry Dan u lost) But trust and believe it was all the juicy/moist flavorful goodness fried chicken should be. I really liked the food here, oh and the dumplings are good and full of flavor.. the chicken/dumplings was a bit over seasoned for my taste when it comes to dumplings but that could just be me.
