A friend of ours rented this catamaran for his 40th bday and Captain Adam and his crew were great. The boat can fit 100 but we were a group of 40 and had a blast. We set sail from bayside and docked on Nixon key for a few hours. The boat comes equipped with noodles, a trampoline and a big float to sit on. The bartender Toni was excellent and the staff was so friendly. Shout out to Karen for making sure that we reapplied sunscreen on a gorgeous day. My husband got me a sunset sail cruise on the Caribbean Spirit as a Christmas gift because it's one of my favorite boats I can see from my apartment. And I can say actually going on it only secured this as being my favorite boat out on Biscayne Bay! The Caribbean Spirit is a gorgeous double sail catamaran with a beautiful red color (hence, why it always catches my eye from my window when it emerges on the bay). It offers a relaxing sailing cruise on the bay, great for those ready to unwind and relax at the end of the day rather than a offering a raucous party. Captains Kiara, Joe and Blue make sure you have a safe and comfortable boat ride with their sailing expertise. We spent some time chatting with Captain Blue and it was great to know more about the area and sailing in the bay. The tunes they play are eclectic and always good vibes. WARNING!!! Do NOT charter this boat with captain Adam-- he physically and verbally assaulted a passenger today!!! And when we complained the owner defended him! He took no responsibility for creating a hostile and unsafe environment. The captain was yelling at us from the moment we arrived on the boat with a crappy attitude. At one point he thought two people were using the bathroom at once (apparently that's illegal) and he banged on the door until the person got out. Only one person was in the bathroom and he was pissed! He used so much force that he injured his wrist and had to put on a wrist brace right afterwards. After that he kept watching everyone from the roof of the boat (rather than steer the ship) hoping to find bad behavior to justify his attitude, and at that point a passenger allegedly took a pill from his bag and took it (could have been a Tylenol for all we know) and he grabbed the passenger and yelled "this c*nt is the reason this charter is cancelled!" then he took the passenger's bag dumped it out on the boat deck. He cancelled the charter at this point, about 1.5 hours into it, and kept yelling expletives the whole way back. He instructed the staff to no longer serve any food or beverages, he turned off the music, and we had to turn back around. The bartender Toni also got very rude at this point. The whole time on the return he's yelling at everyone and cursing us out. There were about 60 people on the boat, he didn't have to be so unprofessional and rude to all of us. Captain Adam should be fired for assaulting a passenger, but instead the management defended him and accused us of "rampant drug use" which was ridiculous... It was honestly the worst boat charter experience Ive witnessed and the most aggressive and rude captain. He needs anger management. Avoid this charter if you don't want to be harassed by the staff, accused of doing drugs, have this crazy guy banging on the bathroom when you're trying to pee, and then your whole group gets kicked off. Then this abusive man is defended by the management. There are so many options for boat charters where the captain and owners don't abuse passengers. Go elsewhere, you'll be glad you did. read more

Bought a groupon without really knowing how I would manage a 2:30 pm on a weekday tour that doesn't allow kids, but figured it was to good a deal for to fun of an outing to pass up. So glad I did it! My friend came into town to celebrate my bday so the husband graciously offered to stay with the child. Sucker. ;) Bill and Alex were our crew and they boarded the boat promptly at 2:30. We had a nice smooth ride to Flagler island, with Bill serving drinks to everyone. We got to the island and they quickly unloaded the kayaks, paddle boards, trampoline and floating foam thing. There is only two each of the kayaks and paddleboards but you are there so long there is plenty of time for everyone to enjoy. We used the kayaks two separate times. You can go on and off the boat easily, making it easy to get pictures enjoying the toys and lounging around. On way back they gave a tour of the homes on star island that was pretty funny and informative. I will be offering this adventure to all visiting guests, as well as trying to get my local friends to go. Such a great deal! read more

Out of all the cruises in the bayside area, Caribbean Spirit is the hidden gem that you really have to look for! It's located at the end of Bayside Market place a little past Hardrock Café. Once you sea the ocean (hehe), you'll see the Caribbean Spirit! You pretty much have a whole 2 hours to enjoy viewing the Miami skyline and sipping drinks. The captain just gives a quick safety briefing when you board the cruise and then embarks. The crew is extremely friendly as they serve you drinks and offer to take pictures for you. There were probably about 15 passengers total so it definitely did not feel "touristy". There's also nice music playing in the background that adds to the atmosphere of the whole cruise. There's also a complementary glass of champagne toward the end of the cruise! Be aware that since this a sunset cruise, that there is only one cruise a day. After March 12, the cruise departs at 6pm. Before that, the cruise departs at 5pm. Recommend buying tickets at the dock for $30 a person, rather than $50 for an online reservation. read more

I went on the four hour South Beach Sail trip on a Friday afternoon. Staff was organized and boarding was easy. The boat is very clean. You can park at Bayside's parking garage for $12. You can bring your own cooler with snacks and drinks. They provide a jug of ice water, sodas,pretzel sticks, and peanuts. You can purchase bottled water. The trip out to the reef takes about an hour. You get two hours to swim, snorkel, lay on a huge mat, or sit on the big tube. We had to alter our anchor point because there were too many jelly fish at the barcardi bar reef. Instead we anchored close to the jetties. The captain gets in the water with you and takes pictures of you with his go pro. You can purchase the pics off the company's website. There are two bathrooms on board. There is inside seating (no a/c) or you can sit out on the deck. There are shaded areas outside also. Overall, it was a fun trip and seeing the beauty of Miami from the water is always spectacular. read more

You can also ask for the same Groupon deal and sometimes they will give this to you if you pay in cash before a trip. I love the champagne sunset cruise. You can bring your own wine and snacks! Only downside is that I rented this boat out for my birthday and the captain was very mean and was actually very rude to me. I was told I could give input on where we would be sailing around for the day and that ended up being false. I also bought a lot of food and wine and was putting it away behind the counter like I had been told and he came up and snapped very aggressively at me telling me I should not be going back there because "you wouldn't go behind a bar at an establishment" Anyways I won't let this one bad experience (even though it was my birthday) ruin this for me. All the other staff is friendly, they play great music and the boat is well kept. I love this boat and have recommended it to many people from in and out of town. It was nice to be on the sea, but we sailed reallllllly slowly. They said it was because of the winds, but there was plenty of wind. I've been sailing many times and have never experienced such a slow ride. The guys said they were tired from having been sailing since morning, so it seemed they felt like setting the sails for slow and hanging out rather than manning the sails and pulling in to give us a nice swift ride. That's fine if it's what was expected, but we were expecting a swift ride where we saw lots of stuff, not a slow float in the middle of nothing. They told us a little bit about Miami, but not nearly enough to make up for just sitting around like we did. Disappointing. As others reported, snacks are standard Planters in self-serve Dixie cups. They changed the time on us but did not tell us ahead of time, so we were there sitting around waiting to leave, and arrived back way late for dinner. Definitely call to check if you reserve ahead of time. However, It does seem that just showing up at the dock and signing up there to save $20 pp is the best idea -- don't book online. They weren't near full. There are also lots of boats there if that doesn't work out, though no other catamarans that I saw. All in all, the price for quality ratio was poor. The folks were very friendly, though. I hope they're able to up the quality, as the people seem nice and it's a lovely boat. read more

We were a very large group consisting of mostly men (25 and up). You can tell the captain was very uncomfortable with the style of group from the moment we boarded. None the less, the trip began with the rules being laid out, apparently broken and the trip terminated. To be fair, the captain had every right to terminate the trip due to the rules being broken for allegedly using drugs, however, he had no right to call anyone, let alone a client, a Cunt. It was uncalled for, unprofessional and completely degrading. Accused people of going into the bathroom together and banged on the doors yelling instead of speaking to the trip organizer or those individuals separately. Rules broken or not, a business owner does not treat anyone in that manner. Every time the captain addressed a matter, he did so compulsively yelling at the top of his lungs and using profanity. This was not a wild group, everyone was very laid back and 100% respectful even after being treated the way they were. I will say, the rest of the crew was respectful and sweet, but unfortunately, I do not support the way things were handled by the captain, and therefore, do not recommend such an unprofessional company. A good boating experience, not a real snorkeling experience. This is a review for the Sailing and Snorkeling expedition. With the crew of Captain Terry, Mason, Ernest Edgar on 8/16. The customer service from booking was extremely helpful. Sarah was great at answering all our questions and even arranged the perfect time and date for our excursion. The boat itself is spacious clean and steady. The crew is capable and knowledgeable, yet it felt like this was just a job for them and not as enthusiastic as trips I've been on in the past where they genuinely enjoy the experience and hosting people on the boat. However, they did decide not to go out to the listed location (Jose Cuervo Artificial Reef) we originally had read when booking. Instead, the first two hours were spent circling around the same bay and same views and it felt a little like they were going through the motions to kill time before they let us jump into the water. We docked in front of some expensive houses and they let us off and handed us snorkeling goggles. There was no reef no fish and you couldn't see more than 2 ft in front of you due to visibility issues and it was basically just swimming and playing with some floaties. A saw an excited family who brought with them all this nice snorkeling equipment only to have to tell their kids they didn't need it. Then we returned to dock shortly after. The issue I take is that they didn't give us an option for a refund once they knew they weren't going to the reef, they just said we will play it by ear. I even heard the crew talking about how they weren't on the same page about what activity people had booked. Personally, when I am in charge of planning a group vacation it's disappointing to block out a significant part of your day for a Snorkeling adventure that turns out to be just a boat and swim. My honest opinion is if you enjoy being on a boat, it's a great time. But if you are looking to book the snorkeling adventure be careful of the bait and switch tactic. I still can't even get over this trip! it was so amazinggg and only 50$ for 3 hours!!!! Sam and Tyler were great and even gave us a mini tour of Star Island! They were very knowledgeable of the homes and fun to hangout with. We finally arrived to the mini island and it was legit paradise. Water was clean, beautiful sand and awesome water toys. I was so sad when it was over. They played music, 3$ wine/beer, and had an awesome trampoline, paddle board, kayak, and more. We wanted to go the next day too but sadly were closed on Tuesdays. The weather was a little rough but, we had a blast anyway. From the guy who met us at the dock to the two staff members on the boat, everyone was courteous, professional, and fun. They have an aux jack hooked up to the sound system so anyone can take a turn at being DJ with your own tunes. We cruised out to this little island where we pulled up to shore and got the party started. They pulled out the inflatable trampoline, paddle boards, and kayaks. I spent most of my afternoon chillaxin on the trampoline drinking beers. Then the sky opened up and everyone bailed back to the boat... except myself. A little rain wasn't stopping my good time. I had a blast out there bouncing around in the rain. The only thing that would have made our trip better was some better weather but Caribbean Spirit can't control that. read more

I'm giving this sail 5 stars because it's just that GOOD! I purchased a groupon back in february as a valentine's day gift but decided to wait to take this sail till the water was warm and weather was just right and boy was it perfect. We parked the car towards the back of bayside for $10 and got to the boat right at 12, luckily they waited an extra 5 minutes. As we got on I noticed only 5 other people had booked the trip. This was awesome because that gave everyone an ample amount of space on the boat to do their own thing. Once the captain finished giving us some safety tips we started to set sail. They had really good reggae music going and we were able to enjoy some beers we brought along with us. For those aboard that didn't bring drinks they offered beer/wine for $3 each and they also had unlimited soda for everyone. We sailed around some islands and through south point about 45 minutes into the trip we anchored at emerald reef. The water was so clear we were able to see right to the bottom even without the snorkels they provided us. They had a huge floating mat that was good to lay on and relax, But most of the time everyone was just really enjoying the snokeling. The weather so nice that even the captain didn't want to leave so we actually got to stay for an extra 25 minutes. You can jump off the side of the boat or go down the stairs they have either way water was perfect, drinks were cold and the staff was amazing. I also noticed that the boat was extremely clean. I would love to come on this catamaran again especially with a large group of friends.This was literally the best groupon experience i've ever had. Relaxing Miami Tour. Touristy. Clean Catamaran. Chill Day Cruise. I'll preface by saying I live in Miami, so this day cruise was the result of my attempt at being a tourist in my own city. Friends drove down for the weekend and that's when we decided to take this cruise, last-minute. First off, pack a picnic basket and leave the valuables at home/in the car. This is a four-hour day cruise and you'll spend at least three of those hours in the water. The boat operators were very friendly and brought a lot of energy to the trip itself. It takes about 25-30 minutes to get out to the sandbar location where the boat is then anchored into the water. They set up water activities and it was a free for all: jumping off the catamaran, water noodles, water trampoline, and floats. Music playlist and sound quality from the tiny speakers sucked - so this was a disappointment. Snacks included on the ship are minimal and archaic: pretzels and peanuts. Expect airplane snacks from the early 2000s... you know back when snacks were actually complimentary on flights. Buy a bag of Lay's or other goodies before getting on! I like that we have the option to bring food on-board and I hope it stays that way, but I dropped the rating 1-star because I think the experience would have been better if we did have the option to purchase food items aboard the ship. Someone crafty and smart should launch a partnership to offer food on this boat - like a traveling chef. I'm thinking at minimum, some delicious burgers are going to be a hot commodity on this ship. Also, I will mention that I did read the reviews of this day cruise in Yelp and TripAdvisor prior to purchasing and the only thing I noticed that was vastly different from my personal experience and the experience of others, was the fact that we had closer to 80 people on our boat. It was a Friday and I was flabbergasted by how crowded it was since I expected a small group of people including myself #misinformed They serve Sprite, Coke, and Diet Coke - so if you want to bring spirits I recommend rum, whiskey, vodka, or that powdered alcohol (if you can acquire some) for mixing. Overall, fun time. Really laid-back vibe and we met a lot of cool people from all over the place. The guys on the Caribbean Spirit are nothing short of professional, fun, and friendly. They are SO accommodating. The crew are laid back and not overly paranoid and "strict," but they definitely keep everyone safe and follow, ya know, the ocean rules or whatever haha. It was just such a chill vibe with them on all three of our trips. We did three different "cruises" with them because we enjoyed it so much. We went on an afternoon snorkeling trip, way out in the ocean, father than where they typically go because they felt we'd find better snorkeling there. It was a beautiful day. My son loved going out to the big float mat thing to chill. The captain took some cool underwater pics of him with his camera and shared them with us via facebook. We also did a nighttime Fourth of July cruise to see the fireworks from off the coastline. That was badass to say the least. This cruise had a lot more people in it, as expected, but the service and fun atmosphere was stellar. Lastly, we did another daytime snorkeling cruise and it was just as fun as the first time. On each cruise there's an open bar, good tunes playing, and just chill people. Loved it. Can't wait to return when I come back to Miami. :) read more

We purchased a Living Social deal for $30 a person, regular price was $70 for the sunset cruise. I can not imagine having to pay $70 for this. The light snacks were pretzels and a bowl of peanuts. We were told there would be appetizers however when we got there (15 minutes before boarding) we were told that the other people ate them all. Huh? There was no actual tour given. We sailed out and sailed back. The staff was nice but we felt a bit deceived from the description and what actually happened. I checked this place out last Saturday and it was the perfect amount of time and tons of fun. We bought the Ski & Splash Half Day Water Sports Adventure package and had a total of 12 people. We made it to the little island, got in the water and waited for the bigger group to do the activities first. There were jet skis, banana boat, HUGE water mat, kayaks, water trampoline, and noodles to float. The crew was very nice and friendly, and took care of the music, too! I booked this trip last minute with a good groupon deal. My only complaint is I felt the site was slightly misleading because I thought you went on the very cool looking red boat that is in the pics. However, you go on a smaller white boat. Loved wild Bill he was nice, kind, and helpful. The captain was nice, but not as helpful he would say Bill will help you. Stellar time out on the water with these guys! Plenty of cruisers and pontoon boats to choose from, but these dudes really turn you on to a fun time! Despite the loud music (I may just be a bit crotchety when it comes to loud mainstream music) and the cloudy-ish day, we still had a blasty blast. The entire boat is decked out with fun items. Paddleboards, kayaks, masks and snorkels, and even a giant blow-up trampoline. The boat is also chalk full of coolers of beer, wine and other beverages. The captain and staff not only help you gallivant around the open water, but they also serve as your bartenders. One aspect that was a little unexpected was the tour of all of the luxury homes along the water. We had the chance to see celebrity homes and crazy houses that have been in popular movies. Something that caters to the tourist in all of us. I'd highly recommend these guys to anyone looking to go out on the water! read more

Let me start off by saying, this same friend was running late (public transportation is not the most efficient in the time of need) and all three guys, Diego, Brian, and the guy we sign-in to, did everything possible to wait for her...and she made it thanks to them! I did a Sun and Splash Cruise on The Caribbean Spirit last week and was absolutely floored by the professionalism and care that Captain Adam and his crew provided during the cruise. The boat is massive with 2 bathrooms, 2 nets up front, bar area under the deck and covered lounge area with bunch of benches to sit or chill on. They offer jet ski and para-sailing as addon's. I enjoyed a nice high up view of Miami skyline. Also on the boat are a water trampoline and a huge floating mat that can hold 10 or more people comfortably once anchored in the bay. Complementary drinks and snacks are a bonus. All in all awesome afternoon adventure. read more

This was the highlight of my very fun vacation in Miami. The crew is laid back yet accommodating and the boat is clean and spacious. There were only six guests on our tour total which made it feel like a private charter. Anyone who is complaining about the peanuts and pretzels really need to put it into perspective. For $50 you are getting some champagne and an amazing cruise and it's a good deal. They'd go under at that price if they were serving seafood and cheese platters. Even better, if you don't like what they have to offer you can bring your own food on board. They have beer and wine for $3 that is drinkable and if you don't like what they have you can again bring your own providing it's not in a glass container. My wife and I had our first trip to Florida scheduled for last March. Due to a family situation we had to cancel our trip. I had bought tickets for our sunset cruise last year as well. Great way to spend some time on the water. We did the 2 hour sunset sail. Beautiful views. Vessel is spacious & clean. Staff (Jeff, Ernesto & Edgar) were friendly & fantastic hosts. We went with our toddler & everyone was accommodating. Lovely experience. read more
