We checked in around 1:30 AM, and the room was ready. I always inspect the beds for spots, hair, or anything questionable, and they were clean though everything, including the towels, smelled strongly of Clorox, which was a bit overpowering. Unfortunately, the carpet was extremely dirty and even left marks on my beige socks. The tub also had visible dirt, and the drain was slow, making it difficult to rinse it out. The room was listed as two queen beds, but they were clearly two doubles, which makes a difference when you're used to sleeping in a queen with your spouse. The grounds are nice but the beach has been eroding and the color of the water compared to the rest of the island is not that nice. Breakfast at Lola's buffet was also disappointing. The milk container looked like it had been refilled repeatedly without being properly cleaned, with visible residue inside, so we asked for a fresh one. As a Hilton Honors member, I was a bit disappointed. Overall, the hotel rooms need updating and attention to detail. It's fine if you're just sleeping and showering, but at over $350 a night, those details matter especially compared with other Hilton stays like DoubleTree by Hilton, where standards tend to be more consistent. This was my second time staying here and unfortunately will be my last.

The resort is beautiful! Positioned on the top of San Juan it offers a beautiful view of the beach, perfect little swimming lagoon with calm waters and crystal clear swimming or snorkeling. The location is within minutes of great local restaurants, coffee and pizza shops for a fantastic local meal. The resort offered amazing restaurants and a little ice cream/cookie shop. Our favorite was Morton's Steakhouse (pricey but worth it), and the Ice Cream shops delicious sandwiches and avocado toast. The crew here is phenomenal - shoutout to David, Hiram and Jose for being great servers and bartenders. The rooms were just okay: 7/10 overall. Views 8/10: we were on top of the room area, 5th floor. The pillows were so flat, you need 3 of them to get comfortable. The drains in the bathroom take a while to drain (but I've heard this is an island thing as well so I'm not sure if it's normal). The beds were not comfortable whatsoever, I slept awful the entire time as we could feel the springs coming up. The walls were dusty, but otherwise the room was clean. Housekeeping was kind and always generous. The Caribar menu was fantastic 10/10! My favorite is having the menu available whether you're sitting on the beach or at the pool bar, or at the dining tables outside on the patio. The options were plentiful and the food was great. Bracelets allowed us access to our room, and everything in the resort was able to be a room charge. That was ideal and very convenient. Overall, we loved it here! We can't wait to come back.

Caribe is a classic beach resort opened in 1949 as the first Hilton outside the continental US. Fun fact it is where the Pina Colada was invented. The hotel sits on 17 acres that are maintained. The pool and beach areas are very nice. The rest of the property is in ok shape. For example, there was garbage at the entrance at the base of the signage which is a poor reflection of the management. Front desk staff is not very pleasant and just getting through another day. The rooms are about the same as a Hilton Garden Inn with small balcony and five star view. Would we stay here again, if the price is right, for the beach, pool, & swim up bar. The outside staff is much nicer than the front desk. Our housekeeper was also very good. As a 10 year plus Hilton Diamond, this was my last hurrah as Diamond, as I switched brands in 2025. Hilton's loyalty program is not very good. They really don't do anything for their best customers except free water and awful powder egg and stale bread breakfast.

I stayed here recently for 3 days and as this was my first time in Puerto Rico, it's a bit difficult to exactly say the value, since I have nothing to compare it to. However, I'm quite familiar with Hilton properties, so I can say this one was a little rough around the edges as far as maintenance (see pictures pain chip). That said, the location is super convenient and the staff were lovely. I'll pro/con my experience here! Pros: - Staff is kind and bilingual - Dining options onsite (see cons) - Pools + beach access - Easy valet for bags checking in/out - Good WiFi - Cute lobby with programming and occasionally live music at night - Plenty of chairs and seating outside Cons: - Check in can take forever. They say they'll text you when your room is ready but they did not, I had to go and ask to find out it was, almost missing an excursion because of this. - Outdated rooms/facilities (chipping paint, exposed rusty hardware in bathroom, etc.) - Family resort so expect tourist prices ($$$ for food), American radio music 90% of the time, children everywhere, etc. - Rideshare pick up can be strange (walk down street, not always at circle driveway) - No poolside beverage/food service that I could tell - Limited room amenities (can likely ask for more but expected at least robes and slippers there) Would I return? Probably not, as I'd want to try another hotel to compare. However, this is a great location and is close to the airport, so I would recommend this for traveling families who aren't expecting a super luxe experience, but still want a resort feel.

I really don't get the hype around the Caribe Hilton. Our stay just didn't live up to the expectations at all. The check-in was unbelievably slow, and it set the tone for the rest of the trip. The location isn't great either, unless you're ready to spend a lot on Uber or Lyft, it's not the most convenient spot. I also didn't enjoy the food at the resort. The only place worth spending money on for us was the little ice cream/baked goods café, which actually had good options. The beach was just okay, there were soooo many seaweeds everywhere, and I don't understand why they don't clean it up more often since it really takes away from the experience. You see those little flies around all the seaweed and it really gross me out. The pools are nice, I'll give them that. When we visited, the regular breakfast area was closed, so they moved breakfast into a conference room, and the food selection looked extremely average. To top it off, they charged $40 per person for that setup, which felt insane to me. We just decided to eat outside of the resort for all our meals. Overall, not impressed. With the price and the reputation, I expected so much more.

Close to old San Juan and has a small private beach. The room was underwhelming and the shower didn't work very well, but the staff was very nice. Self parking was somewhat stressful.

I didn't stay here, but I did come visit someone who was. We ended up getting small bites and ordering some drinks and walked around the hotel grounds at night with live music playing. We ordered some loaded nachos and piña coladas. I didn't care for the nachos, but the piña coladas were tasty (as they should be since they claim that it was invented here). The employees that did check on us while we ate and drank were all hospitable and kind. After dining, we did a stroll through the grounds and it was so nice out there. Since it was later at night, there weren't many guests out, so you could hear the sounds of the water and it was so relaxing.

My "Go-To" hotel whenever I'm in San Juan. This place checks all the boxes. Great location, right off the shore, comfy beds for a good night sleep, balcony, fitness center, personal care/spa, multiple restaurants, shops, bar, awesome views and helpful staff/customer service. It is here the Pina Colada was created in 954 by Ramon Merrero. Each visit has been a good experience. Though there was a visit when attempted to book me in Room 666...but other than that....

I love this hotel and despite 3 out of 4 pools not working. I was looking forward to the swim up bar pool but that was a no go. And the lagoon. But the jacuzzi and the pool that was available great and amazing. And the beach part I love it!!! Had a little thing that looked like a mattress kind of in the middle so you can swim up to it jump off it was fun!! Plenty of things to get to eat around and coffee. They have a Starbucks inside. Parking for each day was 25$ a night self parking in garage or 33$ for valet per night. I would come back and hope everything is up and running by then. Room was good too!!!

A decent place to relax and get away from it all. Check-in was somewhat slow, even for Hilton Gold Card holders, but the accommodations were good. They gave you two free bottles of water per day, which is good, if you're not a fan of tap water. Secret hack is a hotel has a gym, which this one does, you can get filtered water there. Our water shower head was terrible, spewed low-pressured water all over the place, and after informing the front desk, nothing changed. Also the bathroom shower leaked water where the door was. Again, no fix, after telling the front desk either. Room was OK. Carpet was kind of worn-out green, but the most important thing was that the AC worked great. They have a fitness area too, which was decent. No free weights, except for dumbbells and they had one cross-trainer and the rest were just machines. But you can get a decent pump while you're on vacation and if you want to show up that beach bod. You can valet your car for $30 a day, or self-park for $10 cheaper. The parking garage is about a 5-min walk, and if you don't mind that, then I would go with that. Our hotel key didn't work to get in/out of the garage, which we were warned, so grab a paper ticket instead on the way in. The bad part is that every time you want out, you have to go to the parking garage office to get it validated. So that takes a few extra minutes to do. Hotel itself, is near a pizza place. Other than that, nothing is really around this hotel, so get a rental car. Main attractions are only about 10-minutes away or so.

I really enjoyed our stay at the Caribe Hilton. We came to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. It's a beautiful hotel with lovely amenities. The room was comfortable and clean. Our absolute favorite part was the snorkeling right at the hotel beach. We saw so many tropical fish and conch. The view from our room was beautiful. The piña coladas were icing on the cake.

Review of Caribe Hilton (Stayed April 16-19) 2026 I wanted to like this place--the location, beach, and overall property are beautiful--but the condition of the rooms and overall experience fell well short of what you'd expect from a Hilton. From the moment we got into the room, cleanliness and upkeep were an issue. The bathroom had visible buildup and mildew in the tile and corners, and the shower looked worn and not properly cleaned. Grout lines and edges had grime that clearly hadn't been addressed in a while. The problems extended throughout the room: * Dust and buildup in vents and fixtures * Rust and corrosion on metal parts * Dirty windows and surrounding areas * Stained walls and worn furniture The bed was also extremely uncomfortable--honestly one of the worst we've ever slept on, which made it hard to get proper rest during the stay. Outside the room didn't improve things. The balcony/pergola area showed clear signs of neglect--rust, rotting wood, cracks, and buildup that looked like mold or long-term dirt accumulation. Some structural areas looked poorly maintained, which is concerning. On top of that, both hot tubs were cold the entire time, which was disappointing since that's a key amenity at a resort like this. To their credit, the staff did try to make it right--they moved us to a better room and reimbursed one night, which we appreciated. That said, the issues we experienced shouldn't have happened in the first place. The photos I've included show exactly what we experienced--this goes beyond normal wear and tear and points to a lack of consistent maintenance and deep cleaning. To be fair: * The beach and pool area are very nice * The property layout and views are great * Staff were friendly and tried to accommodate us Final verdict: Great location with a lot of potential, but poor room conditions, uncomfortable beds, and non-functioning amenities made this stay disappointing. While the staff did try to resolve the situation, the overall experience didn't meet expectations. I wouldn't stay here again unless major improvements are made.

Beach wing review: Pros: 1- Beautiful property and its distance from the crowd makes it feel exclusive. 2- Bar and Lounge food: Such a delight! The pina colada at the poolside bar wasn't as enticing but the drinks at the private beach bar, was EVERYTHING! There is also a cute bar inside the hotel with some of the most delicious desserts. I highly recommend food from the beach bar, BEST ceviche! 3- Real resort feel: as mentioned, this place is far away from everything, but close enough to enjoy great restaurants and nightlife. It of course does not include drinks and food as a normal resort will but you're sure to enjoy your stay, the beach and pool were so relaxing! 4- lots of activities to engage in! If you choose to stay indoors, know that they offer everything from sunrise yoga on the beach, to cocktails sampling. It's definitely great for anyone hoping to balance time exploring the island and time at the resort. Cons: 1- The hotel can use some renovations because our floor had a strong rotten egg smell some mornings. 2- Some of the appliances were broken and one of them was the light fixture in the bathroom. I reported this 4 times in total and we never received any support, even after the "front manager" answered and gave a generic response. This broken light made it so difficult to see in the bathroom. This of course, added to the poor lighting in the entire suite. 3- Air Conditioning quality is subject to randomly dropping low at night so prepare to be greeted by unbearable heat. 4- Some of the surrounding areas can use more cleaning attention.

They recommended so many amazing places to eat and shop, in and out of the property. The prices for food on the property were reasonable and there were a lot of different options for food choices. The big Concha restaurant on the property is absolutely gorgeous at night but it is a bit pricier than the other food options on the property. There are 4 pool ameneties you can choose from, with one being adults only. I loved that you have the different pool options. However, I wish the pools were bigger. I felt like it made more sense to have fewer pools but, bigger to fit more people but, we were comfortable in each. The beach is beautiful and every day there were plenty of surfers riding the high tide waves. It wasn't the best beach for swimming since the tide was so high and waves were really strong but, lifeguards are on the property to help those who have trouble getting in and out. We stayed close to shore to prevent any accidents and enjoyed watching surfers ride the waves each day.

We booked an "ocean view" room, which was really more of a nice 45-degree angle looking down the length of the beach. Still enjoyable, just something to keep in mind when booking. Some reviews mentioned dirty rooms, but our experience on the 8th floor was the complete opposite. Our room was spotless when we arrived, and housekeeping returned it to that same condition every day. Honestly, it was probably the best housekeeping service I can remember at a hotel. On the other hand, we had the same A/C issues others have mentioned. The room simply wouldn't get cool enough the first two nights, but the engineering team fixed it when we finally inquired. The room itself worked really well for a family. The pullout sofa was surprisingly nice, the shower was very spacious, having the toilet behind its own separate door made getting everyone ready much easier, and the room key is a wristband, so it's easy to keep with you all the time. Unlike some of the other places we visited, it's also removable if you'd rather not wear it. The only other area I'd mention that could be improved is the front desk and concierge. There were a few times they seemed unmanned when we walked through the lobby, and while everyone was friendly, we didn't get the sense they had enough firsthand knowledge of the area to tailor recommendations to different interests, ages, or travel styles. The hotel definitely has a nightlife vibe. Every evening the lobby filled with people heading out in club attire, and the casino is a nice little bonus if that's your thing. The lobby itself is large, clean, and often had a good balance of customers being served and available space for others. The pools were nice, though I'd like to see the third pool reopened before maybe considering it a four-star stay. The beach is pleasant, with plenty of room to relax in the sun, but be warned that the hotel advises against swimming, and multiple locals elsewhere told us the same thing because of the currents. Plenty of people were wading well out or swimming close to shore, but I'd be nervous if I had kids venturing out very far or swimming alone. If swimming is your goal, there are safer beaches just a short Uber, taxi ride, or even a reasonable walk away. (I think the closest one recommended to us was about a half mile to the west.) The location is another big plus. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, Old San Juan is just a quick Uber away, and the sushi bar in the hotel was surprisingly affordable and much better than I expected for hotel sushi. Overall, I'd probably stay here again if visiting that area. It has a great location, comfortable rooms, excellent housekeeping, and enough amenities to keep most people happy. Just go in expecting a lively atmosphere, and hopefully get a room with an A/C unit that's already behaving itself.

The only logical explanation is that this policy makes the room prices appear to cost about $200 a night less than the real charges. Otherwise, why not just raise the advertised price by 20%? There is no doubt the property is in a gorgeous location, sitting directly on the ocean. The buildings are in good condition and the staff is courteous. But, I experienced several shortfalls compared to my expectations for this price point. The suites are provided a "butler," but the available hours are 10am to 6pm. The service would be more accurately described as a concierge. Bringing coffee in the morning is not on the list of duties, nor assisting with unpacking or packing or other typical butler activities. Sending out laundry the day before my departure, I asked to have it folded so it would be easier to pack. Everything came back on hangers. My room did not receive turn-down service and fresh towels during the third night of my stay. I asked to have a car booked to the airport from the hotel. The butler got it backwards and booked it from the airport to the hotel. Good thing that I took a close look at the confirmation and noticed the routing was backwards. The breakfast restaurant, Ola, is extremely crowded in the morning with a 30 to 60 minute wait being typical in my experience. The front of the property is in a skeevy neighborhood so walking somewhere else for breakfast isn't a realistic option. It's not bad, but also not a top tier. property.

**Workers Entered Our Private Balcony and Saw My Wife Changing**…read more We paid about $5,000 for a penthouse at The Condado Plaza Hotel expecting a relaxing, private, and comfortable stay. Instead, we experienced a series of serious issues that made our visit stressful and unacceptable, including flooding, ants, constant construction noise, and a major invasion of privacy that should never happen at any hotel, especially one at this price point. On the first night, the air-conditioning unit flooded the room, leaving water on the floor and creating an uncomfortable and unsafe environment. On the second night, ants appeared throughout the space, adding to the frustration and making it difficult to relax. Each morning, we were woken up by loud drilling and construction noise directly outside our bedroom, making it impossible to rest or enjoy the room we had paid so much for. The most alarming issue involved our "private" balcony. Construction workers entered the balcony without any notice or permission. They knocked and then proceeded to look directly into our bedroom. After the first incident, we contacted hotel staff and the police were called. We were assured that this would not happen again and that our privacy would be respected moving forward. Unfortunately, it did happen again. During the second incident, my wife was in the bedroom changing clothes, and the workers could clearly see inside. This was deeply humiliating, frightening, and a complete violation of our privacy and sense of safety. We reported these incidents multiple times to hotel staff, including security and the front desk, but no manager took meaningful responsibility or provided a proper resolution. At checkout, we were promised that our entire stay would be fully comped due to the severity of the issues. That promise was never honored. We followed up with Hilton Corporate several times through calls and emails, but we never received a response or any form of accountability. This experience represents a complete failure of safety, privacy, customer service, and basic hospitality standards. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting a secure, respectful, and professionally managed stay.

We were originally planning on staying here in December 2024 for a friends birthday and New Year's celebration, however, those plans were ruined. I appreciate the intentionality and beauty behind the aesthetic they design for ocean club to be a boutique arm of the Condado hotel family. It is a completely different vibe from that of the Vanderbilt, which exudes a traditional European brand. Ocean club is the cool, vibey, minimalistic and modern cousin that you know you can count on to have a good time! CHECK IN: Check-in was a breeze, and we were luckily able to check into our room earlier than expected, which was a huge win after a very early flight. Upon check-in, you receive a wristband which will operate as your key to access your floor and your room. You feel the ocean vibes right away and the lovely fragrance piped in throughout the hotel is delightful (I forgot to ask what it was!). BEACH IS NOT FOR SWIMMING MAJOR TIP: If you are planning on swimming in the ocean, the beach right outside of the hotel is not intended for that. The waters are very choppy, and there are a lot of large rocks on the shoreline and the hotel specifically advises us not to swim there. There are a number of really great swimming beaches within walking distance which we had the pleasure of exploring multiple times. ROOMS: Walk in and paradise is before you whether you have the lagoon or ocean view. We always came back to a super clean and fresh room which meant a lot - especially since sand gets everywhere! The bathroom layout was nice and I liked the "ladder style" towel rack which provided space to hang wet swimwear. However - it was really difficult to dry anything without a balcony. VIEW: With the lagoon view, be mindful that you can see the lagoon, however the room does face busy Avenida Ashford and a parking lot (which is also where water sports tours and kayaks depart from). POOL & AMENITIES: From the lobby you're able to access the restaurant, Social, which is open for all meals but definitely check the specific hours. The infinity pool is a really nice touch because it really does feel like you're almost one with the ocean. A little disappointing that we couldn't directly walk in to the ocean and swim from there but it's really not far. We really enjoyed spending time by the pool and really helpful that they also had sunscreen and aloe vera outside in case you forgot your own. There is a small gift shop in the lobby with some really gorgeous and unique pieces from clothing, but where jewelry bags and accessories. The hotel is pretty serene but hosts special events, so be mindful of what is on the schedule when you visit. There was a DJ residency during our stay (and for 3 more weeks), which was a nice energy boost during the day on Saturday. But for someone looking for quiet that day, they might have been frustrated. Non hotel guests pay admission to attend these events. VALET / PARKING: Since we rented a car, we were able to ballet it with the hotel, Diego was awesome! Just note that although you are a guest of the hotel, there is still a $30 ballet charge every night we parked there the first two nights, and then continued to find street parking in the area, which is successful if you have a little bit of patience! RESEARCH = MUST: As with any location, do your research to ensure you're getting the experience you are looking for! This hotel was wonderful despite a few minor hiccups. Plus, of course, if you're looking to walk out and swim in the ocean - this may not be the spot for you. Overall -- both of us said we'd be back! Hasta la proxima, ocean club!

We stayed at the Condado Ocean Club the day before our cruise. The Uber to it and check in was…read moresuper easy. One negative was the "resort fee", which is the reason why I've reduced a star. When people stay at your hotel, they want to book at a price and for you to charge them that specific price. Condado decides to add a random "resort fee" when you check in, in order to squeeze more out of their guests without stating it on the front end. That is shady, and it removes a full star for that unethical business practice. However, that is really where the negativ w s end. The facility is beautiful, and very welcoming. The location couldn't be more perfect, and the amenities of the facility were exactly what we were looking for. The rooms were clean and minimalistic, without being dated. We were able to walk to a wide variety of attractions to see San Juan without needing to get an Uber. The restaurant was excellent, with unique dishes and drinks to sample. We really had a fantastic time here, and we can't wait to visit San Juan again in the near future!
