Busy coffee shop in Little Canada. I'm actually not a coffee drinker, but I was getting some work done on my car at a nearby shop (MN Rust Prevention-- look them up!) so I needed someplace warm to spend a couple hours. I got a breakfast sandwich instead of a beverage, their maple waffle. It was a little expensive (almost $8) but I figured I'd treat myself. It was ready quite quickly and smelled amazing; the actual consistency and taste however didn't live up to the smell. Oh well. I did get a nice cozy spot to sit and relax near their fake fireplace in one of the plush armchairs, along with a coffee table to set down my items (I'd brought a book to pass the time). There seemed to be ample seating, though it was also needed, as many spots filled up with folks while I was there. I noticed two additional rooms off from the main lobby, but these were by "reservation only"... strange, imo. Used the restroom while I was here, of course. If I happen to be in the area, this is my favorite Caribou to stop at. The interior space is big and has lots of seating, or the drive-thru is super convenient. Staff always are fast and friendly here. As far as food and drink go, they have all the standard 'Bou items, including the hot breakfast and lunch items. read more

Great news! This Caribou location has two large conference rooms with white boards to rent out which is what my review will be about. NOTE: neither room has a projector nor monitor which is an important call out. With my work office permanently closing, I was in a pinch to locate something like this and was so glad to stumble across the Rice Street Caribou. To rent, you simply have to purchase $25 in coffee or beans which was very easy to do with the group I was hosting. The service to ensure everything was setup was seamless and all taken care of over the phone. I recommend buying the gift card in advance so that when your guests arrive, you can treat them (I went in person the day prior to my big meeting just to ensure everything was still set and it was nice to do in advance so that I could better understand the space). The parking lot is abundant and there are lots of large open windows with allow for great natural lighting. The bathrooms are very clean as well as the entire interior. During the virus they didn't have any apple fritters understandably so now they do offer apple fritters but they forgot to put the apple in the fritter and added extra dryness hard pass. I'm sure the designer coffee is about the same for four dollars it better be. My bad, coffee was bitter and tired kinda like an old shoe. I'm changing my 2 to a 1. Won't be driving thru any time ever again. I learned my lesson, if it's over priced it's over rated. Moving on. As I sit here on this Memorial Day , I said to myself, "self, I'm glad these folks are working today. I had past 4 coffee shops and they were all closed." After that I further said " this is a nice Caribou. Very large, comfortable, nice - peppy workers, and a drive thru if I was in a hurry." Ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel and it had the limpest, coldest, cheapest looking bacon. I couldn't even eat it. I asked them to heat the bacon up a little or something and they "couldn't". It was seriously barely warm. No one offered to comp it or replace it. It was pretty sick. read more

One of the better locations I have been to. Staff all are great, fast, and prompt. And a good community get together location.

While this is a just a chain coffee shop, it gets high praise from me just due to its size. Back in the day, this was a Hardee's restaurant. It's totally remodeled and has at least twenty tables of varying size, leather chairs, and 2 huge private rooms. The private rooms usually need to be reserved and are typically used for business meetings. A lot of the time they are empty and a good place to relax and get work done. The staff are generally friendly and always get my order right. Nothing special on the coffee and specialty drink front but it smells wonderful when you walk in and it's always warm and inviting. They even have a fireplace to sit by on those cold winter days. Most importantly, nobody bothers me when I'm working, staff included. I can do my work in a relaxed environment and have something tasty to drink in the process. read more

I've been coming here every Tuesday morning for a couple years now and have never had a bad experience. The staff is always friendly and cheerful, the coffee's delicious, and the trivia is fun. They have lots of comfy seating along with two large private rooms that can be reserved or just used when empty. They also give free refills of regular coffee as long as you stay. read more

I'm a regular at my local caribou's in the Wayzata area and normally love the warm and inviting environment. Although when I was in the area and stopped at this caribou my experience was awful. The customer service was lacking greatly. The employee helping me was snappy and got annoyed with me when I asked for soy milk and they didn't have it. I switched to almond milk for my drink. My mother with me ordered a hot cocoa and specified that she wanted skim milk. Her drink was made with almond milk instead which she obviously didn't want since she ordered skim. The baristas are as peppy as peppy gets, which is occasionally hard to bear before I've had a cup of coffee, but I mostly appreciate the positivity. They're super efficient and quick to fix you up with something great so that you don't leave unsatisfied. Today I was handed a hot beverage when I was looking for something blended (a cooler) so they insisted on whipping me up what I wanted and I left with two drinks. There's nothing wrong with that if you ask me. There is a conference room that anyone can use when it's not reserved, if he or she needs a secluded place to get some work done (this place is usually packed). Just ask a barista to look up when the next reservation is and they'll let you go back there. read more

I have never been disrespected at a Caribou before but holy crap when it rains it pours. I work right down the street and frequent this location. The workers are usually pretty standoff-ish but WOW if they weren't pulling out all the stops. I work in a customer focused field so I know how easy it is to fix an issue but these girls were the rudist people I've incountered in a long while. I order the same thing Every. Single. Day A milk chocolate crafted press. The price is $3.74. It is even stated on the menu board. This day, there were cars lined up around the block. I pulled up to the window and they asked me to pay $5. I corrected them that my drink is usually $3.74. The girl at the window called another girl over who berated me for a good minute about how my order is correct and its my fault for not specific about how much milk chocolate I wanted. I've never been told this before in my 3 years of having Caribou. She told me she could remake the drink and I could wait for it if I wanted. There were about 10 cars behind me. I asked if I could just pay $3.74 and be done with it. She then screamed "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO, YOU'RE HOLDING UP THE LINE" I haven't been talked to that way ever by someone at Caribou. I started to cry. I handed her my credit card and she tossed my drink at me. I got to work. Took my first sip. There was no chocolate in the crafted press...... This is insane. Love the coffee, love the environment, but am shocked at the customer service. It was not very busy and there were at least three staff working. I waited at the empty counter for 4-5 min before being acknowledged. One was 10 feet in front of me playing on their phone while 2 employees were in the "back" chatting with each other. When I finally received some service, it was like they were doing me an extra favor. Probably will not return. read more

This is my regular coffee place. The staff is friendly and pretty efficient. Also, there is a lot of comfortable seating and great work/study space. The restaurant and bathrooms also have always been clean. Not to mention, Caribou is a MN company, which is awesome! I come here pretty often and highly recommend it. read more

The staff was a little bit behind on a Saturday mid afternoon which I thought was a little odd. What really sells this place and bumps up the score is that it has meeting space that is often-used and you can check out. It is good for a study-session or an interview. On a hot summer Thursday night at 8:55PM, I pulled up to the drive-thru to quench my thirst with a refreshing Caribou Cooler. I was so excited to finally get my hands on this delicious drink, about which I had been dreaming the entire day as I sat through a long day at the office. To my dismay, when I pulled up to the window to pay for my drink, I was rudely met by an employee (blond gal in her 30s or so, and something tells me that she may have even been the manager on duty) who immediately informed me, "We close at 9:00. So for you to have ordered this type of drink only 5 minutes before closing time is really cutting it close. Next time, come sooner!" No greeting first or anything. She just went right into her rant. Sorry for the inconvenience, dear, but what type of drink WOULD have been convenient to make in 5 minutes? She was too busy ranting to even take my Caribou Perks card. I understand that it may have been a long day at work for her that day too, but there is no reason that I should have been treated that way. I'm a very loyal Caribou customer. If it was too much trouble to make my drink at that time, then they should make their closing time be before 8:55PM, not 9:00PM. Otherwise, post a sign that reads "Only water and pre-packaged items are available for purchase up to (insert number) minutes before closing." I had been looking forward to this moment the entire day, but it was completely ruined by the rude service I received by this lady. Well, guess what? We really like this Caribou's atmosphere but they seem to always forget one thing or another. My boyfriend orders a simple, large, dark roast coffee every time and they always forget to get it for him. The baristas are nice but sometimes seem a little flighty. They need more baristas working. It's frustrating to sit and watch the one person working make someone's coffee while you wait to even put your order in. We will continue trying this place in hopes that things will get better read more

I am a very loyal Caribou customer and I normally have great experiences. Today my husband and I stopped at this location for the first time on our way to a class we signed up for. We stopped in at 915 am with plenty of time to get to our appointment time. The ordering process was ok, just a little disorganized. After waiting for 10 minutes we noticed a few people getting the wrong drinks and they had to remake a few. Then we started noticing people getting their drinks who ordered after us. At this point we had been there for 20 minutes. I finally asked when our order was going to be ready. They switched through their order board not able to find ours. They finally figured out that the orders were put on the drive through table. I'm not sure how long our coffees were sitting there but they were no as hot as they could have been. When I went to drink mine, it was not made right. I ordered a Soy chai latte because I can not have regular milk. My drink was made with regular milk so I couldn't even enjoy my semi hot drink that I waited 25 minutes for. read more
