Located on Main Street, Mooresville, there is parking in the rear, a handicapped entrance ramp and a very friendly welcoming group of veterans. Veterans are asked to sign into their book, are given a key ring and a free cup of coffee. Any veterans there at the time come up to meet and talk with you. It certainly is a good welcome home. This former store is divided into area displays for each of the military conflicts in which the USA has taken part. In addition, there is a lot of militaria displayed. There are photos, uniforms, models, equipment and historical mementos. A very nice experience. You are immersed into American military history. And for those of us who are veterans it is a warm feeling to reconnect to the years we served, whether in combat or not. With the veterans there you are living history through their stories or general conversation. They serve coffee and light snacks. Thursdays is free coffee. There are light snacks available and I think breakfast, but it might not be regularly served. Very good for grandchildren and children. Living history, making military service real. A great occasion.
