Caribou has been and always will be my favorite coffee chain. No matter how busy they are, you will always be met with the friendliest service. Giving a certain chicken fast food chain a run for their money... On top of that, my order has always been correct and the consistency is unmatched. It's not just their drink menu that keeps me coming back, though! I've had their food items a handful of times now and it has all been fantastic! Not hot enough. Lukewarm by the time I get home (about a five minute drive away). The caribu in Cary is better! So hot the double cup the coffee and it's hot for the entire time I drink it. Unlike this location it's warm first few sips right away but then lukewarm by the time it's halfway gone and entirely cold at the last sips but it's not the employees fault. It's January 1st. I sit down with my coffee. The place was recommended by a friend in seminary. Does God suggest good coffee shops to him? I open my laptop. Calculus. Limits. Derivatives. A normal, serious activity. I am so fun. Then walks in a man who looks like a football player - Massive - Eye catching. When he speaks, it's deep and booming--radio host energy. The kind of voice that makes you stop writing mid-equation. What's over his shoulder, a toddler? No, he pulls out a little blue Muppet. His voice shoots up into this wildly high-pitched squeak as he talks as the Muppet to a child who spilled her drink. So emotionally supportive and without hesitation. He pivots next to a random couple on a very obvious "not-date" and the Muppet starts chatting with them too. One of them looked endlessly confused, the other endlessly uncomfortable. I pause mid-calculation, pencil hovering, because my brain refuses to process what my eyes are seeing. I am absolutely not listening. I am also listening very closely. Apparently, he's a LOCAL MUPPET INFLUENCER, discussing algorithms with his friends like this is an ordinary career path. Turns out he trained his voice through singing, which somehow makes this all make sense but no less insane. I go back to calculus. Second derivatives. Concavity. In the background, a giant man seamlessly alternates between NFL narrator and sentient felt being. At some point I think:This man should be my new friend. How does one become this iconic? I like this coffee place and was getting good consistent service for a while but then started giving me a medium ice drink when I ordered a large... I'd even ask to make sure and they are like gaslighting me and saying that their 20z cup is a large. Go to the one down the street and get the right size so I know it's not true. After climbing at the Triangle Rock Club nearby, I was craving a caffeine fix. Since I was covered with chalk and sweat I was hoping I wouldn't need to walk inside. Thankfully Caribou has a drive thru! The drive thru did take longer than anticipated, but was worth it. I ordered an iced matcha latte made with oat milk, iced black coffee, and a chocolate croissant. The iced matcha latte was good, but sadly tasted more like oat milk than matcha. The croissant was warmed up and had an excellent, flaky crust with soft chocolate on the inside. Overall, a positive experience and we would visit here again. read more

Dont go there after 3:00 because the manager has the employees doing closing prep. They focus a bit too much on getting out of there on-time instead of servicing customers. Granted, it slows down in the mid-afternoon but the number of employees that stay until close is limited. The food and drink is good but they only serve one type of coffee in the afternoon rather that the three they start the day with. And again this is because they are closing things down. The manager doesn't have an inside voice so she can be heard all over the store which ruins the quiet vibe. But overall a nice place to hang out and work. read more

whoever was the barista yesterday morning should be fired. I ordered two regular hot latte and I could've just get away with ordering warm milk because it literally taste just like warm milk no coffee taste at all. It's sad and pathetic.. I also ordered one chocolate croissant and a blueberry muffin, and it comes down to $20. I went back up and asked him for a knife. He said:"we're out of knives." And offered no other reply. I said: " How are oeople to spread the cream cheese on our your bagels?" "I don't know he said; we've been out of knives for days.." I asked for the manager. He went in the back, and never returned. I used the handle of a plastic spoon to spread the cream cheese. First of all if you order an Americano, you expect espresso but I didn't see any espresso machines so I don't think it's real coffee. Second, I took my boy there because he's gluten free and they have on their menu board gluten free options and when we got there, quite hungry, the two women at the cash register said they didn't have any of the gluten free options (at 9:30 am) I ordered an everything bagel and they said they would have to SUB that b/c they were out of Everything bagels (at 9:30 am) really?? I find this place to not be ready to serve people and I find it insensitive that they have options on the menu that they did not have and they were not at all apologetic. With so many cool coffee shops serving REAL coffee and actually having what they advertise-go elsewhere, the customer service and the fake coffee is not worth the trip. read more

If you see Kat, it's going to be a good day. She is hard working, vigilant, and keeps her team going/afloat with all of the demands. I have had mixed results here but I see how busy they are. If they get an order wrong, just ask for the corrected item. I would not suggest the drive thru, I have gotten wrong items this way. I love the lumberjack sandwich along with a crafted press hot or iced style drink. It's very smooth and tasty. The seating areas are clean enough, and the cabin style ambiance is a treat especially in this area. There's definitely long shifts and hours for employees with ups and downs in business so try and catch them at a slow time. Awesome establishment; I prefer the Raleigh location vs Cary, there's more parking. read more

This is my go-to "chain" coffee shop. The customer service is excellent every single time I visit. I normally come in at peak times and I never wait long or feel like an inconvenience. Grab a comfy, leather chair in the back if you have time to stay for awhile. If you prefer a table, there is a decent amount of small and large tables. Pros: - Dog friendly patio area! - Discount on your order by answering a trivia question correctly inside. The question is on a chalkboard in the middle of their menu. Breakfast food has gone way downhill unfortunately; I used to like their bagel sandwiches. Now it's just pre-packaged egg sandwiches on a plain rubbery bagel, no options other than plain bagel (and they ask you to tip for heating up a pre-assembled sandwich!). I have been here a number of times now. It's nice storefront and a decent place to come in and hang out. The staff are also OK. Unfortunately, the positives end there. The quality of the coffee is inconsistent. Also don't order bagels: the lady who makes them often messes up the orders and always gyps on the cream cheese. The service is pretty slow, so I would go elsewhere if you're in a rush. The parking situation can also be a little dicey. It has a busy drive-thru and is situated off Duraleigh which makes for difficult entry and exit. read more

As one of the lucky people who can work from home as easily as in the office, I don't have to frequent a coffee shop every single day. When I do brave I-440 to drive to the office however, the day is helped along by a trip to Caribou. Yes, I'm one of those people who love the specialty lattes as opposed to your standard cup o' joe. And Caribou beats Starbucks hands down, any day of the week. The people at this location are consistently friendly and Caribou has the best Pumpkin Spice latte, bar none. Heard customer in front ask if more honey grain and employee said no, they had no more dough. When my turn, there was no plain bagels. So I'm giving a coffee shop a 4* rating in spite of not really liking their brew, which makes me realize that cafes aren't so much about coffee anymore. More than anything else, this location is an _excellent_ place to hang out and study/work in. Access and parking are easy, and there are plenty of large tables with nearby power outlets. Plus, the coffee isn't terrible, it's just inconsistent. A couple of negatives, though: First, the wifi is pretty spotty here. If that doesn't get worked out I'll be back to downgrade my review. Also, the food isn't anything special. Aside from the usual assortment of muffins and other pastries there are a few sandwiches on offer, but they're not of the healthy variety, so I usually hit the Subway across the street before coming here. read more

We made a special trip to see this updated Caribou. I was looking forward to checking it out and by the looks of the parking lot, so were a lot of other people! It looks brand new inside and there was barely a place to sit. I quickly counted at least eight people behind the counter in various places so figured it would move pretty quickly. It did, but not without glitches. We just wanted to get regular old coffee, nothing fancy, but couldn't find it on the board above. In the midst of feeling rushed to keep things moving, the cashier really offered little help. After finally getting the point across that we just wanted two plain cups of coffee and paying for it, we saw a small sign next to the cashier showing what we were looking for. Now why don't they have that posted up on the board with all the other coffees? Who knows, but it didn't feel like things were off to a great start. The coffee was good, typical good Caribou, so no complaints there. We looked for a place to sit and all that was available was a long table for about 8-10 people. There were only two of us and we felt a little silly being the only ones taking up space at it, but there was no where else to sit. This table is pretty much right when you come in the joint, which seems a little out of place to me. Yes, they offer Bruegger's bagels, which you see when initially approaching the counter. It doesn't look like as many choices as your typical stand alone, but at least they have them. You have to continue down the rest of the counter to order coffee. Have to say I liked the setup at the Caribou/Bruegger's combo that was in Cary off High House & Cary Parkway better, but unfortunately they closed the Caribou side. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to visit this location again, but if I was in the neighborhood and wanted coffee I would. As big as it seems inside, there doesn't seem to be as much seating as it could hold. I think ditching that huge table would help. read more

My friends met here for coffee and board games on a Tuesday morning. This location worked well for our gathering. I prefer Caribou to Starbucks. This location has a mini Einstein bagel shop. I liked my bagel with lox and there were good breakfast sandwich and lunch style bagels. The staff was helpful, kind and the location was clean. I had a regular coffee which was good. Next time.
