Groovy Duck Bakery was a completely random find, but I'm so glad I stopped in. I ordered their vanilla chai latte and an Amish muffin, and both were excellent. The latte was made exactly the way I asked -- perfectly balanced and full of flavor. The Amish muffin was fresh, tasty, and the perfect pairing. The place has a warm, welcoming vibe, and the service was great. I'd definitely love to visit again whenever I'm in the area. Highly recommend!

Uh, yes, yum, 10/10, can't wait to come again. We got a strawberry peach cobbler muffin, a cinnamon pumpkin muffin, a double chocolate Oreo cookie and then a chocolate chip cookie and they were all delicious! The muffin had actual peach chunks in it. Pumpkin muffin was my fav. The only thing we could've done without was the chocolate chip cookie, but everything else sent us to another universe. I didn't know they had coffee but they have a full coffee bar with syrups and all. I'll be back!

I am absolutely obsessed with Groovy Duck Bakery! I first discovered it when I was googling places with german chocolate cupcakes for my mom's birthday back in March. I showed up thinking I would just get one large german chocolate cupcake, and I ended up leaving with 4 flavors of cupcakes, as well as a few delicious muffins. When I was thinking about doing a gender reveal cake, I knew this is where I would go! I brought in the envelope with my baby's sex on Wednesday afternoon and they had the cake ready for me on Saturday morning! I called multiple times to make some edits to the cake, and they were so incredibly accommodating. Of course I got cookies when I dropped off the sex envelope AND when I picked up the cake. Their chunky cookies are unbelievably good - I usually inhale them in the parking lot. Everyone that works here is fabulous, so welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. My favorite Raleigh bakery!

I'm a big fan of Groovy Duck Bakery for custom cakes. My husband ordered my birthday cake here and it was as beautiful as it was delicious. His feedback to them for decorating was "make it fancy." They understood the assignment it had cute flowers, gold detail, and all around was just pretty. It was a chocolate hazelnut cake with buttercream. Their buttercream was so freaking good, it wasn't too sweet, and it was super smooth and light. The cake itself was moist and flavorful. I would definitely order a cake from them again. Their custom cake prices are also very reasonable. I also appreciate when Hanukkah rolls around they do all sorts of speciality cookies to celebrate and it's not just all about Christmas. I'm looking forward to heading in again soon to try more of the bakery items!

Clean, well-lit, welcoming, and friendly staff. Chocolate chip Cheesecake is good but something about the texture was different for me. Maybe it was the chocolate chips. The buttermilk biscuit square is delicious. A very soft and buttery flavor that I love. No complaints here. A great gem for desserts and pastries. A variety of options here! I do recommend Groovy Duck Bakery for that sweet tooth cure or a comforting biscuit to pair with breakfast sausage and eggs for non-bakers. Even if you bake it's worth a try.

Quaint little bakery and coffee shop that I popped into because it came up on my GPS headed home from the mall. Atmosphere is really relaxing and clean, the one person working you could tell she was overwhelmed but was definitely making sure everyone received what they needed and apologized for the small wait. I only got a latte which was ok, temp was luke warm. The baked goods looked amazing and everyone was coming in to pick up a cake so I'll definitely stop back in.

Another coffee shop tried out with my visiting friend and was sorely disappointed. Bought two coffees. Iced mocha and iced lavender latte as those were what we were testing at other shops. Staff was friendly but coffee was just ok. We got a raspberry white chocolate bar that was delicious. The peach muffin we had was not great. The crumb topping was nice and crispy but the muffin lacked flavor. I'd buy the raspberry bar again in a heartbeat but would skip the coffee. Pretty disappointed.

I saw this bakery when we were visiting another business close to the area and decided to check it out. My mom and I both got a cupcake, we tried the carrot cake and chocolate. Both were good but the carrot cake is a must. If you are around the area, check this spot out.

Would recommend! Custom cake for a friends birthday turned out amazing just what I asked for! Also it was delicious. Super friendly staff, I will deff be coming back again!

A Truly Artisanal Bakery…read more I rarely leave reviews on yelp anymore, but this bakery is so impressive, it inspired me to type this down. I'm from the Bay Area and loved going to all kinds of bakery when I travel. I did not have much expectations when I came to Raleigh. I tried Paul and Jack and couple other bakeries, they were all good, but not impressive. The first thing I noticed was their Mill Room, and second I noticed that they have 100 score on hygiene. Not that I care about the score that much but still impressive. Then We got a bunch of pastries, the shortbread was the first one we tried and wow, it was so simple yet so flavorful, truly malted tasting shortbread, it has so much depth in taste. Then I had a had a ham and cheese croissant, it was on the salty side but I kept eating it when I'm not even hungry. The true winner though, is the plain croissant I got which traveled with me for 72 hours back home. I got it out of my bag, slightly flattened by all my stuff, I expect it to taste flat and meh. I put it in the oven for 6 minutes and it turned out to be the best croissant I've had. It was flaky, soft and soo flavorful. Now I cannot stop thinking about it. Lastly, I want to say that with so many pop ups, new bakeries coming up in different cities, often times we were chasing that unique flavors, that special toppings on croissants, but Boulted Bread stayed true to bread, and perfected the craft without focusing on "exotic" or "special" flavors. I truly respect this.

A bialy (bee-AH-lee) is a traditional Polish-Jewish bread roll, similar to a bagel but with key differences: it is baked, not boiled, has a dimpled center filled with onion bits and poppy seeds, and is generally softer and less dense. Originating in Białystok, Poland, these rolls are traditionally served plain or toasted with toppings like butter or schmear. 2. Rye shortbread. Not too sweet. Just perfection! 3. Bran biscotti. I like the idea of a high-fiber bran biscotti over a refined flour one. 4. Buchi Tepache. I got the mango-pineapple flavor. This is a local NC brand. It's a mildly fermented drink that originated in Mexico. I got the ingredients from their website (drinkbuchi.com): Organic Tibicos (Water, Organic Fair Trade Certified™* Cane Sugar, Organic Kefir Culture), Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic Mango Puree, Organic Pineapple Juice Concentrate, Organic Whole Lemon Puree, Organic Mango Natural Flavor, Organic Pineapple Natural Flavor, Organic Monk Fruit Extract. 5. The baguette. Unlike a refined flour white bread baguette at La Farm Bakery, this one is made of a red wheat flour. Turkey Red flour is an heirloom, organic hard red winter wheat brought to Kansas in 1873 by Mennonite immigrants. Prized for its rich, nutty flavor and superior baking qualities, it is often used for artisan bread, sourdough, and pasta due to its unique, sometimes more digestible, gluten profile. It is commonly stone-ground and available from local Kansas millers. 6. The star of the show was the Everything Croissant. Like the Everything Bagel but soft and buttery. Topped with all the sesame seeds and seasonings with a cream cheese interior. So good! I do plan on returning!

The chocolate brownie is thick and rich, but not too sweet, and the marshmallow cream is divine, especially with the ice cream.
