Her at home studio is personal, peaceful and full of positive energy. Received this groupon for my birthday. When I got back from an active vacation followed by some workouts, my sore muscles decided it was the perfect time to book it! Carina works out of her home. The atmosphere is professional and serene. She takes her time in explaining her history and process. This was unlike any swedish massage I've ever had, and by a real Swede! Her ankle shaking machine was a nice surprise / intro to a very relaxing massage session. As another reviewer mentioned, the pressure was perfect - gentle but strong at the same time. After doing the full body massage to soothing music, she'll give you an evaluation of your body tension areas and probable causes. Water and snacks are also provided and a nice treat before/after. I felt great immediately after, she is very skilled, caring and knowledgeable. Although her rates are a bit higher than what I'm used to, you pay for amazing attention and quality from experience and education (and honestly the cost is comparable to getting an hour massage downtown). This was my first time with Carina and it won't be my last. Carina was easy to contact and scheduling an appointment was easy. The location is 7 minutes from my home which made it super convenient for me to get to and there is plenty of parking on her street. Just be careful with street cleaning times. Carina was very welcoming and professional. She explained her background and techniques before starting and asked what my issues were. I felt comfortable and confident with her. The massage was excellent. She also used the Chinese machine and did a small rose water facial. Her hands are so gentle, yet they go very deep. It really felt like a current of water was just gliding over my body. So very relaxing and made me feel wonderful. Carina explains her techniques during parts of the massage and seems to really care about helping you feel better. She gave me tips on what to do on a regular basis myself. There are an assortment of massage packages offered and I will be looking into them as soon as possible. I went here for my first ever massage and it did not disappoint. Carina is so kind and knowledgeable. Her massage parlor is a room in the back of her house. She starts off having you lay down with a heating pad underneath you. Your feet go in a machine that rocks them back and forth for 10-15 minutes and when it's done, it makes your entire body tingle. Then she gives you a moment to undress and lay on the table. She pointed out the different areas/muscles in your back that hold certain types of stress. Then she did a nice full body massage. I found Carina through groupon and have been going to her ever since. I had some really tight muscles and pain around my neck and shoulder area that wouldn't go away and she recommended scheduling a massage once a week for 6 weeks and told me the pain would go away. I gave it a shot and sure enough by week 4 I felt good as new! I'm now taking my mother to Carina so she can work her magic on her pain too. What a great, peaceful and relaxing massage! This was my first massage that didn't involve elbows and other techniques that usual end up being painful during or after. I purchased a 60 minute massage on Groupon and had no problem scheduling an appointment. There is only street parking so get there a little bit early to find a spot. So the massage started with Carina explaining her background and techniques, then went into 15 minutes with the Chinese machine which was interesting. It kinda gets the blood moving. Next, the full body massage began and wow, it was so smooth and relaxing. It ended with a short rose water facial massage which I thoroughly enjoyed.
