Horrible experience. I first saw Dr Suman and was pleased. And my next appointment I expected her but got Dr Chen and he was great but the next appointment to finish the root canal I get Gwo and she's mediocre in every regard and I wished I could run away. Chats with the assistant about her upcoming vacation on and on (in contrast Dr Chen was quiet and focused on doing the work). She communicates horribly like she hasn't the first clue about what she should be doing, asking me questions I can't answer with a mouth full of stuff, like she still hasn't learned how to communicate with a patient. Disorganized. I'm deeply regretful she worked on me. I regret ever going there. They seem profoundly unorganized and lacking in professionalism. read more

I felt like my hygienist was in training. There was no small talk. She got polish grit all over my face water all over my face. She got floss stuck between my teeth and left it there. I had to tell her that there's something between my teeth and she said, "it's was just floss." OK so do I wanna walk around with dental floss stuck between my teeth?! The dentist did my cleaning and he was rough. He kept pushing the sun glasses down hard on my face. He wasn't very personable either. When he was finished cleaning my teeth, he told the hygienist to put fluoride on my teeth. She went and got the fluoride and came back and started painting my teeth, but she kept watching the office staff behind me and I was watching her watching them as she was painting fluoride all over my lips the inside of my cheek and then she looked down and she goes oh! she didn't even put it on all of my teeth. I arrived at 1:30 for my 2 o'clock appointment. I was called back at two and I was done with x-rays and cleaning and everything back in my car by 150. So they are fast if that's what you want. I was just very disappointed in the experience. And I like going to the dentist so I will not be going back to this office.. read more

I had multiple fillings done at this dental office last month. The dentist working on me (don't remember her name) had to repeatedly go back and adjust my bite and fix the filling multiple times. My mouth was stretched open for what felt like an eternity while they re-did the filling over and over, and my jaw was aching by the end of it. A couple of days later, I started experiencing pretty bad pain when I bit down, and I couldn't chew at all on the left side of my mouth. I went back in and they took X-rays, told me there was nothing of concern, applied a laser to my tooth, and informed me it might be several weeks before I saw relief. I was skeptical as I had never had this level of pain after a filling before, but I accepted their diagnosis and went on my way. This was 2 weeks ago, and I have had pain and discomfort in my tooth ever since. Last night I woke up with the most horrific tooth pain I have ever had and was up all night wailing in pain. I ended up going to an emergency dentist who told me that my symptoms are consistent with irreversible pulpitis and immediately got me in to see a specialist for what will likely be a root canal. In addition to receiving substandard care at this clinic, my complaints of pain--which were a direct result of the fillings they gave me--were completely dismissed. I will not be returning to this clinic, and I urge you to look elsewhere if you are looking for a new dentist. read more

If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. My family and I have been coming here for the past 10 years and in a matter of 2 min Stephanie completely ruined that. I drive 45 min from Bellevue to Everett to go to my dentist here. I was about 10 min late for my appt and I got a call from the dentist, I let them know id be there in 4 min. When I walked in, Stephanie (front desk) didn't acknowledge me. I won't waste my breath on the rest of the tragic story but I will Inform you that Stephanie was talking about me w her colleague as I was sitting in the waiting room and could hear everything. Friendly front desk were able to answer all our questions about insurance coverage and more. Me and my sister were scare of dentist ever since we were little especially my younger sister. Very kid friendly also because on a recent trip, I had my 4 year old grandson and 20month granddaughter thinking I would have to be creative with entertaining them and right away, they were on the table with game controllers and playing video games which was a relief. I come from a dental family background overseas, in the great Seattle area. This is the greatest clinic that I have been. Great receptionist with great explanation on insurance and everything. The dentists are also full of patients and they take a lot of time on after treatment check. Strongly recommend, if you are living around the area. I had a great dentist. But my insurance plan changed so I had to find another one. My husband had been going to a dentist in Kirkland, and he had one crown done and then at the next cleaning, another crown recommended. Too Expensive! His coworker had recommended Caring Family Denistry, as a new crown there was about $200 less. My husband went in for a second opinion. Nope, turns out his old crown was okay. So he switched over to Caring Family. My husband was happy with this dentst office, so I switched over, along with my two kids who were getting too old for a pediatric dentist. To be fair, we've always had great service with scheduling appointments and insurance, and the hygenists were fine. But this last time, after the hygenist cleaned my teeth, the dentist looked at the xrays with her. Sat down with me for less than one minute, told me that I have a cavity and then walked away. Didnt look at my gums, or check my teeth. Just held the mirror in my mouth, and didnt see anything out of the ordinary, so that was it. this was a different dentist than I saw the last couple of times. I'm switching - this office is okay, but not great. read more

Before I go any further I want to premise this with that some the events I describe happened over a period of several years and not all in one visit. I started going here in 2008 because a co-worker had recommended it and his wife was the hygienist at the the time. It was great and I couldnt have found a complaint. Eventually the hygienist I mentioned previously left. The practice has two doctors listed, but for several visits I never saw either one and saw a temp or a sub - all different ones. There were also a few instances where the office called me to cancel and/or reschedule me on different days - this was frustrating because I would have often taken a day off or scheduled meetings so I could go in the middle of the day, etc. The office does have a policy that if you cancel within 24 hours they can still charge you - I was never affected by this but found it to be ridiculous that they can cancel without any consequence. I have continued to go here, but these past few weeks was the last straw. I went in for my general cleaning - everything checks out except for a few things. The dentist (again one whose name is not on the office door - but in my opinion is better that the two whose names are posted) tells me the crown they did last year has shifted and they need to replace it at no cost and also I need a filling. Crown at not cost? OK. Filling, really? One of the dentist earlier told me I had the cleanest teeth she had ever seen and now a filling?...whatever, let's do it. I go in to have the crown and the filling done at once. Filling goes OK. A different dentist does the crown replacement. He starts drilling and about a minute into it asks me why are we doing this again? Uhhh because your temp told me to? Isn't that your job to know? He gets all up in arms about how he doesnt think this will solve anything (at this point there is a noticeable hole I can feel) and leaves and comes back with a form for me to sign waving all my claims to the procedure. I just thought this was ridiculous. It has been a few weeks - the crown he eventually did finish still bothers me when I eat crunchy food - they have referred me to specialist. The filling they did is worse than it was before they touched it. They had it too high so I had to go in and have it shaved down. It still bothers me when I eat or drink cold things and they told me to just wait a few more weeks. Once this is all over with I dont plan on returning here. read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING HERE This was the ABSOLUTE most traumatic experience I have ever had at the dentist! I left crying hysterically because I was in so much pain, which is big because I am pretty tough. Like I got my wisdom teeth out, while I was fully awake and I didn't shed one tear. And they didn't seem to care at all that they were causing me this harm! My dad warned me about this place because they were super rough with him, that is why he stopped going but I figured that I would try them out since it was convenient with insurance and everything. The first time I went there I had to get my wisdom teeth out. I had requested nitrous, because they don't automatically provide that anymore. And they called two days before saying it wouldn't get there in time, which was annoying but whatever. I still went that experience was fine I guess. I powered through, while I was fully awake. This next time I went which was 6/21, I had to get three cavities filled, I know I know I should floss more, but this was MORE painful then getting my 4 wisdom teeth out while I was awake. I sat down on the chair, while the assistant, who was a temp so I cut her some slack, shoved a stick in my mouth to "numb" the gums I think, I am not sure exactly what it does, but she did it so rough I screamed in pain. Later the dentist comes, sits down, and lays me back, next thing I know he is jabbing a needle in my gums WITHOUT explaining to me first what he was doing. I started getting teary eyed. He was done with that first one, and I asked what he was doing, his response was, "Its to numb your tooth, no one told you what it was?" Umm no, and you should've before you start sticking needles into your patients. My boyfriend and best friend are in the medical field and both explained to me with great emphasis that the doctor should have told me what he was doing. Moving forward he starts drilling, besides him yanking my head around during the procedure, I am not sure why he didn't just put in rubber thing to keep my mouth open, and the temp dropping tools on me, it was loud and just unpleasant. I also didn't appreciate his snide comment about, "this is why you always need to floss" but whatever. He starts doing the other side, I asked him to numb it, which he didn't because of what I can only assume he didn't want to wait the 10 minutes. They were super busy, which I was informed of at the beginning of the appointment. He said that it wouldn't hurt, which was a lie. He told me to raise my hand if I am uncomfortable, which I did within the first 10 seconds. He asked then if I can just make it through since it would be quick. I reluctantly said yes, I honestly was just in so much shock that this was happening, I felt like I froze and that is why I let him continue He was done, at this point I couldn't stop crying because I was in so much pain, then he goes to floss He literally was so rough that when he pushed down I screamed because it hurt so bad and my neck jolted. He later left, not telling me ANYTHING about what I need to, if I need to wait before I eat, or anything. I asked the receptionist and she had to ask an assistant to give me answers For the next two days I couldn't chew, my jaw, my neck and my gums were super sore, it felt like I got hit by a truck. FROM GETTING CAVITIES FILLED!! WTF?!?!? Its ridiculous. I looked up what would qualify as malpractice because it was that traumatizing, but unfortunately I didn't have any visible bruising, just swelling and sore. People shouldn't be able to handle their business like that, and doctors shouldn't be able to have the authority to be that rough. I am never going back there again and I truly hope people read this before going there, needless to say I am going to start checking up on dentist before they work on me, I have never been one of those people to be scared to go to the dentist, as like I said I am pretty tough, but now I will make sure that I do my research. I work in the service industry and has become very sensitive to a bad service and just don't want to tolerate anyone who gives me an attitude. Dr. Hsieh gets it and like a true business owner he cares for his clients and his employees wellbeing. Have been a patient there for over 7 years. So far, I have been pretty happy with Dr Hsieh and his staff. I had a few fillings done there, most were done pretty well, one needed adjustment, they were able to get me back quickly and adjusted accordingly. The front desk person and hygienist are the same since I started going, so always its nice to have same person handles my billing and does my cleaning. This office has to be one of the best ones I have been to yet. Staff was knowledgeable and willing to find the answer when not known. With other offices, I have been lied to or not told the full truth. This office just says it how it is. Truth is all we are ever looking for, right?! Normally I am one to be a little nervous, but was cared for quite well and made the visits much more pleasant. Having just lost my insurance they were quite accommodating toward a cash only customer. Price was well within my means toward getting all four of my wisdom teeth pulled. I would recommend this office not just for the cash accommodations, but also the staff & doctor. They were wonderful with my two young children (2 and 4). The dentist who saw her was a woman which was probably helpful in them relaxing. Both of the dental assistants were very good with children. I think they jumped the gun a little in that they were already talking about a filling for my four year old (for a slight mark of decay on her baby tooth?). The teeth cleaning is good enough, but they're unprofessional because after the brace treatment of two years, they didn't do it well, because the teeth on my lower jaw were splayed out (they weren't beforehand) and they didn't know what to do other than to do it for TWO MORE years! But I understand because they don't do this professionally. But all in all, I don't recommend people to do their braces there. (They really messed them up.) read more

I took my family here last weekend and would not recommend it. The staff was friendly, but it is set up for no privacy. It felt like a dental assembly line... get people in and out as fast as possible. The dental tech was nice but the dentist spent less than one minute looking at my teeth and pronounced I needed three fillings. He told my husband he needed 5 fillings. We get regular dental care and find his prognosis questionable. I believe is more interested in tapping out insurance than providing well thought, personalized care. Cannot recommend. First we'll start off with my own experience-I've always had great teeth-I only go every couple years for deep cleanings, had one cavity when I was pregnant & no other issues. So go in for checkup-they split your deep cleaning appointment into 2 visits (most insurance only covers 1 annually-sneaky way to up your cost-they did it with my mom too), 2nd issue-I needed a filling (2nd cavity w/ second child) & the dentist hit a nerve he drilled so far in. Now onto my daughter-she was intimidated by men as a toddler so I explained to the receptionist & specifically asked for a female hygienist for her. Did they accommodate that? No. So my daughter's first visit was with 2 men, she was terrified, crying & freaking out. No one likes going to the dentist & being that was her first visit she still 6 years later has horrible memories. Onto my husband...he's got horrible teeth so we knew his visits would probably be very involved. Couple cavities & a crown...ok made through that hefty bill except for within a year his crown broke-like literally broke into chunks. He wasn't even eating anything! Go back, they fix it...and a year after that it breaks again!!! Really?! I will never take my family there ever again. I will never recommend them. My mom had more issues but those are for her to review. read more

Let me start out by saying I've always had anxiety with doctors and dentists, especially when it involves needles, so I've never had a "spectacular" trip to the dentist. That being said, this place has made that anxiety even worse. I've had to remind the doctor every single time that I have a (pretty bad) fear of needles, but every single time I've gotten novacaine they don't seem to understand why I start shaking and freaking out. When I remind them they don't do anything to help soothe that fear and simply proceed which brings my stress levels up pretty high. Keeping my fear of needles in mind, I had to get a root canal done. I pressed pretty hard and they ensured me that they would be able to give me nitrous treatment so I'd be calm during the procedure. When I arrived on the day of the root canal, they told me they had "forgot" and scheduled me with a doctor that couldn't administer the nitrous. They also said they "meant to call and prescribe me Valium instead" but forgot that as well. I had already taken time off work and I was travelling soon, so I couldn't reschedule with what they had available. So while I show up optimistic, at the last minute I go into this procedure in tears and stressed beyond belief because they "forgot" things that they guaranteed me. Not only that, but THREE HOURS of tears and stress later, they tell me they can't finish the root canal for whatever reason and have to refer me somewhere else. So not only did I go through all that, but I went through it for nothing because of their incompetence. I now have to repeat this process at a referred location. I'm not setting foot in this office again. read more

I too have visited this office. Yes, everyone was nice, but the quick over view by the dentist is suspect. My regular dentist had retired so I tried Caring Family twice. It's okay but not the best. I am a retired dental assistant I know good dentistry and great dentistry this is not that good. If you really want the best try someone else. Saving a little money is not worth it in the long run. How can I describe my complete satisfaction with this BE-autiful office in relatable terms? Dr. Mike Hsieh is like the Michael Jordan of dentistry. He is always scoring points with me and it seems like he doesnt even try! As if its second nature. I love this doctor and his outstanding team of professionals that I will (in a heartbeat) commute from OLYMPIA to be seen should I have a problem or even for just a routine check up. I havent had good experiences with dentists in the past, so when I found Dr. Hsieh and his team, I refuse to go anywhere else. Call it high maintenance if you want but really its just a matter of good taste. They always make me feel fancy and the treatment I consistently recieve more than makes up for the not so pleasant time I spend on WAshington's major freeways. True story! Okay I have finally made a yelp account and I'm going to speak up about my previous visits here. Its been awhile since I've been in and I'm due to go back but I DO NOT want to return here for every previous visit was dreadful and I didn't know how to speak up for myself. The staff here is all very friendly but the last few visits were to fill in quite a few cavities that I had on each side of my mouth so they divided a few appointments by that. I always felt rushed to get out with that being said I barely got numbed for the pain of that drilling of each tooth since I actually had a few on each side but they never once asked if I was okay. I laid there with tears rolling down my face :( Same thing with other visits just kept feeling rushed to get out. my teeth for weeks felt so uneven and they said it just needed a little bit more time but they never really even fixed the pain I had from the cavities, But again I didn't know how to speak up and especially because I did not want to return to that chair where there wasnt even any privacy from other patients where you could hear every other dentist working and chattin with patients oh and not to mention the screaming children. Get some rooms! Definitely do not recommend going here! read more
