The level of care for my trauma was well taken cared for by the whole staff. I got into an accident and messed up my front teeth. I was observed and helped by Doctor Tatyana, Tatiana, and Amit. Overdiagnose, overcharge. Who in the right mind would strongly insist on a pregnant patient getting an x-ray done for a simple scaling? I had no dental pain, no problem, just needed a simple cleaning done. And the female dentist scared me into getting all these labs and x-rays done - WHEN I'M PREGNANT!! I had crowns placed that, in hindsight, may have been premature. Next, one chipped only weeks later and they had to redo it. I now have a sharp spot left on my most recent crown. Despite the dentist emphasizing the importance of getting a properly fitting mouth guard, especially since my current one was worsening my symptoms, they declined to schedule me for one. I also had to repeatedly dispute a charge I was initially told I wouldn't owe, which was eventually dropped -- but afterward, I was dismissed as a patient. I now feel stuck in the middle of an unresolved issue that started in their care, and all that's left is smoothing the spot they left and getting a proper mouthguard so it prevents future harm. I'd honestly rather not go back here, but my insurance provider change doesn't kick in until August, and I'm caught with difficulty sleeping my mouthguard hurts me so much. I haven't been able to sleep in 2 days and am in such horrible, severe pain. :( I've never had an experience like this with a dental provider before. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this office. If you're considering them, especially through an HMO plan, I strongly suggest doing thorough research first. read more

I would give less if I could. They over diagnose and over charge: they will not give me a copy of my x rays for a second opinion. They took me back 20 mins late, the exam was 20 mins and then I waited an hour for them to tell me how much all of the "necessary " procedures would cost. Do not go. Go some place else. While everyone was polite, the actual facility is not that great. Very generic and looks cheap, which is crazy for how much they want to charge. Dr. Chu and Jessica the tech were such a delight to have during my crown procedure. My gums refused to accept numbing injections which required several more injections, making this visit last much longer than anticipated. Dr. Chu showed both empathy towards my gums being the way it is and me being horrified with embarrassment. She gave additional injections while thoroughly testing if I can feel the sharp pain before she began the procedure. This clinic 3D prints their patient tooth/model right on the spot. The process of printing and cooling takes a bit before it can be placed in your mouth but it's extremely convenient to not have a temporary filling in you for 2 weeks. What impressed me was her bedside manner. I was at fault for not absorbing the numbing at the same rate as general population but that is no excuse to have a provider run behind on her schedule for other patients. As much as she came to check up on my progress, she moved onto her next patient and so on to work me in while still seeing her scheduled patients. This matters to me because today I may be the one causing the issue but tomorrow I could be in for a simple visit. Tomorrow could put me in a spot where others patients were that day yet I'm confident that Dr. Chu will handle it with much grace and efficiency. read more

This review shares my experiences after two dental appointments. It had been roughly 3-4 years since my last dental appointment. I knew my dental hygiene could use improvement and my once confident smile had deteriorated. Ever since I was a child (I'm 28 now), I dreaded going to the dentist because I was always shamed for not taking better care of my teeth. My girlfriend recently recommended this dental office to me because she could not stop raving about the amazing service they provided her and so I finally booked my appointment. The Office Manager, Carly, did an outstanding job over the phone. She answered all my questions regarding my insurance and upon entering the office, greeted me with a welcoming smile which helped ease my anxiety. She also addressed any immediate concerns promptly. I brought up a slight issue I had after my appointment and was seen by another dentist in less than 5 minutes! Trong, the Dental Assistant, was also very helpful and friendly. He polished my teeth with the utmost care and was a great conversationalist. My appointment was 7 hours long and although he wasn't necessarily there for every minute of it, he made the time I spent there as enjoyable as can be! My dentist was Dr. Esther Ra, and she has easily become my favorite dentist of all time! Her personality and energy that she brings to the environment is contagious. I remember sitting in the chair, hearing the staff crack jokes and sharing laughs...they seem to have an outstanding work relationship and it definitely shows in their teamwork. Dr. Ra was very informative and thorough about all the services she had recommended for me - which was appreciated as she talked me through the steps she was taking while caring for my teeth. After the not so long 7-hour appointment, I was finally done! Carly and Dr. Ra answered my questions about after care, scheduled me for my root canal with Dr. James Lin and I was out the door as happy as I could be. Dr. Lin was just as thorough as Dr. Ra. During my root canal therapy, I couldn't feel a thing! I couldn't be more thankful because I had watched a few YouTube videos about the root canal procedure and being the patient does not look fun. Thank God for local anesthesia and modern medicine! To those of you looking for a new dental office, I cannot recommend this one enough! They WILL take care of you. To the Dentists of Mukilteo, thank you for collectively restoring my smile back to its confident glory and ridding my fears of the dentists. I will be returning for a very long time. :) read more

This is not a dental clinic, these are fraudulent traders. I went for a simple teeth cleaning, but after a long wait, they handed me a bill for 5 appointments, each costing over $700! They added laser and extra chemical charges to the bill. I told them numerous times that I only wanted a cleaning and couldn't have any chemicals due to my immune condition and thyroid issues. Still, Dr. Susan, I believe her name was, insisted that she wouldn't clean my teeth unless I paid for the laser and chemicals. When I asked if the laser was necessary, she said no, only for sterilization after deep cleaning. It's extra stuff and chemicals I don't need. She kept insisting I come for 5 appointments! I usually get my teeth cleaned every 6 months in a half-hour session at other clinics. They took $250 from my insurance and didn't even clean my teeth. What a waste of time! read more

I do not recommend this place at all. My husband went here the other day and when he showed me his treatment plan, I could see the fraud all over it. I am a retired dental assistant from offices other than this place and know full well that my husband doesn't need most of the treatments that were put into his treatment plan. I used to work for several dishonest dentists and I saw the shady crap that happens behind the scenes. They will try to fool patients into thinking they need all kinds of treatment that they don't and line their pockets with your money. My husband will not be returning. They had an appointment opening very quickly and got me set up swiftly. But I sort of felt uneasy with this place but decides to give it a shot with all the 5 star reviews on the internet. First red flag: They called 2 hours before my first appointment here to see if I could come in earlier and I said I could get there 30 mins earlier and they said sure. Second red flag: Similar to some reviews on here, the dentists kind of feel like car salesmen, trying to get you get all kinds of services that most other dentists wouldn't recommend. I don't think I really needed some of the treatments but hey, trust the doctor right? They didn't explain why I needed a mouth guard but I could've asked I guess. Third red flag: After offering me a bunch of services, the reception came in quickly to explain the costs. This was around 5:15. They asked if I wanted to do it all in one day or reschedule some treatments for another time, and said all of it should take an hour. I said sure, I'll do it all today. Fourth Red Flag: I waited till around 5:55 and only the doctor came in to check on me once at around 5:30 and told me they'll be coming in soon to start the services. Honestly 45 minutes waiting around was a bit too long for me, especially if I had an appointment scheduled too. Perhaps this dentistry is for some folks but it wasn't the right fit for me and gave me a bad gut feeling. Appreciate the xray services done today though. read more

I rarely write reviews, and never write them when they're solicited. It had been 7 years since I'd seen a dentist due to several factors (panic/anxiety disorder, self-conscious, previous bad experiences, sensory issues). I decided to give Dr. Ra a try though, after receiving so many recommendations from those around me in the area. Dr. Ra is one of the best things to happen to me, medically speaking. She took her time to listen to my concerns, no matter how irrational they were, talked through what she was doing as she was doing it, reassured me every step of the way, and had a calm demeanor the entire time. She even took time later in the evening to personally call and check on me. That meant the world. I know I wasn't the easiest patient, but she made me feel like I truly mattered in a world where that's difficult to come by these days. She has me on a path to great oral care and I will travel as far as I need to see her every 4 months for my regular cleanings. Do yourself a favor and go to this office if you can. The staff are amazing and there's no replacement for Dr. Ra. I'm forever grateful. read more

Avoid this office. Most of the good reviews are because they offer a discount if you leave a review. However they act like car sales man. I came because my normal dentist was months and months out. I was told I needed 5,000 worth of work. And I had periodontist(gum disease and bone loss) Along with a bunch of other issues. I was so upset I started crying. Anyways ended up going to 2 other offices including my main dentist when he had time. Both of the other dentist offices said I had no gum disease at all and needed just a normal cleaning. Along with 1 filling and 1 crown to replace my old metal fillings that have fractured 1 tooth which is 1,700 compared to the 5,000 mukilteo quoted) On top of all that they wanted 500 that day to do a "deep clean" Do not go here avoid it. BEWARE: every bills has multiple line items that are not covered by insurance. Every customer ends up with gum disease according to the exams and unecessary surgery that is expensive. Dr Chu leaves "unexpectedly one day" and staff doesn't know why. So many red flags. Stay far away from this place. Carly is nice - one good thing to say about this place. I was leaving the country for a year, when 4 days prior at my regular dentist I learned that I might need a crown. I had no symptoms however, and wanted a second opinion. I called DOM (the only place I called) and they told me it would be $499 for a same day crown, but would be less since I had insurance. At the time of this call, I asked that DOM obtain xrays from the dentist I'd seen 4 days prior. They politely said they would. When I arrived at DOM, they hadn't requested the xrays and said it would have been my responsibility to have them sent. They also told me I must have talked to someone else (theirs was the only number in my phone) but it would be $850, not less than $499 as I'd been quoted. I waited for awhile, and was told I would need to repeat the xrays. I specifically asked that we not do extensive x-rays considering my concern about radiation and the fact that I had just had x-rays taken. After taking x-rays of the tooth that needed a crown (which I was fine with), they called Dr. Ra in who told me I was required to have full mouth x-rays to proceed. She told me I could get more radiation from other minor daily things. Turns out, I was to find out later, that she did a full CT, which carries a significant amount of radiation. I was also to find out from the manager later, that she didn't even review this CT until end of the day, long AFTER the crown had been done. Next, I saw Dr. Ra for the second opinion on whether I needed a crown. She told me it needed done. I then asked how long the same day crown would last. She said 2 to 40 years. I got a lot of other nonspecific answers to the questions I asked and was confused. However, going out of the country made me think I didn't have a lot of options. The crown proceeded without a lot of complications. However, at the end of the procedure, Dr. Ra mentioned that I had a "50/50" chance of having to have a root canal. That also felt nonspecific like the other information so I didn't think much of it, but the next day (and every day since), I've had pain with any chewing on the L side (something I never had previously). I told the manager, but she didn't put me in touch with Dr. Ra. Since I already can't chew on my right side due to TMJ, not being able to chew on both sides of my mouth has been a big problem. I will always regret having proceeded when my gut was saying something was wrong (bait and switch, being told I was required to have xrays that weren't reviewed with me, not having adequate informed consent prior to the procedure, such as explaining the risk of needing a root canal, etc). PS, Keep in mind that the office gives out prizes for those who will leave a positive review. No prize offered to me. read more

My previous dentist was removed from my coverage plan and then the pandemic hit. I wasn't able to see someone for two years. I was able to get an appointment and the dr found a few issues but was able to take care of them quickly. It was my first crown and I was a bit freaked out because I heard of a lot of crowns cracking or falling off. She assured me that older crowns could have these issues but newer crowns were much better. It's been a few months and so far so good. read more

Very clean office. I have been in the dental field for over 10 years and I know how people feel about going to the dentist in the first place and this office does not have that dentisty vibe but definitely a healthcare office. Very sweet staff and knowledgeable about insurance and general dental questions. My dentist was super sweet and answered all my questions. When I called for my initial visit they had appointment close by. And even when I had to schedule my dental work I was able to schedule the following week. With my insurance my copay wasn't too high, I have paid less but not more then what I paid here. Overall a very nice dental office read more

I came to this place due to so many good reviews. However, though the front desk is awesome, I am VERY dissatisfied with the dentist I have. Here is the reason why: - The dentist seems more than like a car salesman. She tried to sell all kinds of services that other dentists won't typically recommend. - While doing the gum measuring, she wan't attentive at all that the needle hurt me so bad. I had to scream out to stop it. - Unprofessionalism: while doing the deep cleaning, she didn't provide me the earplugs which I normally got from other dentists. I said the sound was too sharp that I was in need of a pair of earplugs, she and the dental assistant seemed unknown what type of the earplugs to provide. They obviously didn't care to provide a good patient's experience. - I have done the deep cleaning and the teeth filling. The dentist said I should feel normal after 2-3 days. I had a toothache several hours after the procedure but didn't worry too much about it as I thought it will be gone soon. However, it has been 11 days and it still persists. I have done the deep cleaning before, and felt nothing afterwards. I am now really concerned about it. - I sent a message to the doctor asking why through MyChart. The system says I should receive a response in 48 hours. I sent the message on Sept 21st, it's Sept 27th and I still didn't receive any reply. There are probably good dentists in this office, but definitely not mine. What a disappointment! read more
