I was recently…read moretasked with the overwhelming responsibility of helping my cousin transition home from a rehabilitation center following a stroke. Since I live in another state, I was incredibly worried about how we would manage everything from a distance. Pat and his staff truly went above and beyond to ease that burden. They didn't just provide care; they made sure every detail of my cousin's home was safe and that every single one of his needs was met before he even walked through the door. What touched me the most was Pat's communication and selflessness. He kept me in the loop every step of the way, so I never felt 'in the dark' despite being miles away. He even gave up his own personal time to help, knowing I couldn't be there physically. If you are looking for a team that treats your family like their own, look no further than Gentle Touch. They are professional, reliable, and most importantly, deeply compassionate."

After 4+ years of making it work, my mother became sick to the point that she needed more care and supervision than I was able to provide due to my work responsibilities. A friend recommended Kelly from Helping Hearts and she was wonderful. She came to my office for a meeting to explain all of my options for care, was immediately available by phone whenever I had a question about the program. Kelly constantly took care to make sure the aid watching my mother was the right fit for her. She accompanied the aid on the first day to supervise everything to make sure it was to mine and my mother's satisfaction. Very professional, courteous, kind, and understanding.

I had a family member who stayed here for two weeks following a hip replacement. During that time they developed a stage 4 bedsore that never healed up until they passed a year later. Whether the problem is the facility being understaffed, neglectful, or spread too thin, my main point is that you cannot leave anyone you care about here with peace of mind. We were there every day in shifts because we had multiple family members take turns since we all work and it was always a struggle to get a staff member in the room to help the patient stand up. For a bed sore to form that quickly, they probably didn't get to stand up at all aside from the times we flagged staff down. I wouldn't recommend anyone to have a loved one stay here unless they can have someone there with them 24/7 and make sure they get attended to.

We contacted Home Care Assistance who came and met with us to assess the level of care required and to find a caregiver with the required skill set to appropriately take care of my mother. They found 2 caregivers within a day and reviewed their qualifications and experience with us. We requested an interview with one of the caregivers which was immediately set up. After selecting the caregiver, our Client Manager accompanied her on the first day and stayed a while to ensure a smooth transition. Our Client Manager keeps in contact with us regularly to make sure things are going well and if there is anything additional she and the team can do to assist. It's hard enough deciding it's time to get a loved one some help, so choosing a home care provider is a very important decision. We are very happy with the care and interest Home Care Assistance staff and personnel have supplied with the care of my mother. In a fast moving world with numerous responsibilities to attend to daily, it's very comforting to know that there is someone there taking good care of my mother and to ensure she has everything she needs. In addition to finding qualified help, it was very reassuring to discover the honesty of our caregiver as well. With my mother's dementia and confusion that comes with it, she paid her caregiver $50 cash her first day. The caregiver brought it to my attention and handed me the money. I was so grateful for her honesty as many people these days could have easily kept it.
