Excellence is the hallmark of her service. Carla is so warm and non-judgemental that I've never felt uncomfortable getting treatments stripped down to my underwear. As a black woman, laser hair removal was not really recommended for us, due to the challenges of our darker skin tones. However, Carla was trained by the doctor who pioneered the technique to safely remove hair with lasers on darker skin. I've never been burned with that technique. But was immediately burnt by a very high priced doctor in Manhattan. It was bad enough that I probably could have won a lawsuit against him, since the rectangular shape of the laser was clearly visible on my cheek for months! I've moved to WA state and was not happy with the two places that claimed knowledge of laser hair removal on dark skin. Carla even got on the phone with one aesthetian and tried to teach her the technique over the phone! Now, I only trust Carla. I fly to N.Y. every summer to see Carla. So, I get treatments once a year, and I am okay with that. I don't want risk getting burnt again, because I may not be so lucky to have complete removal of the hyperpigmentation, again. Smooth touch laser is one of the best laser places in Long Island. Carla is one of the best in the business. She knows exactly what kind of laser to use on the different skin tones of people from different ethnicities. I have been to some other laser clinics all over Long Island who used different techniques, different approaches but were not as effective and were pretty painful. As a woman with PCOS and hormonal imbalance, I struggle with excessive hair growth which has considerably come down since I have been getting treated by Carla.
