    Cuban sandwich
    Jason S.

Got a large cafe con leche, a guava and cheese pastry, and a Cuban sandwich. Cafe con leche = ok Guava and cheese pastry = pretty f-ing good Cuban sandwich = by far the worst Cuban I have ever eaten in my life. It has a...spoiled, medicinal taste to it. Wish I never stopped here

Kick butt empanadas and colada. Out-of-the-way place but out of this world food. Cuban done right.

I had one of their breakfast specials and it was decent, the best part was the pan de bono with coffee. I would eat here again.

Delicious Cuban coffee and the staff is great. That's all I can say about it because that is all I tried. I went to the window.

I had been wanting to try this cafe and realized I was nearby one day and would give it a try. I…read morehave mixed thoughts, so I'll start with the best thing. The food was actually amazing, especially for a casual cafe environment. I had the loaded avocado toast which came with two slices toast with creamy avocado spread across it, cherry tomatoes, a sprinkle of feta cheese, a balsamic vinegar sauce. For my daughter I ordered the waffles with berries. This was slightly smaller than I expected but delicious. So sugary and flavorful. And I had a honey cinnamon latte which I also felt was full of flavor and had lots of cinnamon (I've had this in other places where I felt the flavor and cinnamon were lacking). That being said, it took 24 minutes to get our food which I think is a bit excessive for this environment. There was only one girl working when we were there and lots of people. Also, the bill for all that (plus an apple juice) was $53 and change including tip! (I paid that same amount recently at a cute sit down restaurant where the meal was big enough to have plenty of leftovers). The ambiance had a clean, minimalist aesthetic with pretty decor pieces. It was very quiet too... about halfway through my visit, they turned on some music, but it was still a quiet, calm environment with the music. I prefer a busier, fun type of vibe, but for those who are looking for something very serene and calm this would be an ideal place to relax or get some work done as long as you're willing to wait for your food!

There was of plenty of seating inside either at a table, couch coffee table or even a barstool along the wall. The bacon, ham, egg, and cheese on a croissant was phenomenal and it came out almost straight away. The flan latte took a little longer, but I was ensured it was made with a lot of love...it was true. It was delicious.

The cappuccino was a latte, can't even get a coffee taste. The iced latte was good because I asked for an extra shot. It seemed like the girls working there today did not care at all. My husband said his cortadito was weak, too much milk. I will come back for croissants, not for coffee.

When I first walked into this French inspired bakery cafe, my party of 8 was greeted and seated…read morepromptly. We also were given menus and water swiftly. It took a bit for our waiter to stroll back around to take our order, and for a Sunday morning brunch, I wouldn't have considered this place a "packed" house. When the time came around, I was first to place my order, I wanted something different so I ordered Shakshuka. Of course; I did my quick research of the dish before getting to the restaurant! Shakshuka is suppose to be a one-skillet egg dish, the eggs are basted in this rich, thick red pepper, tomato, onions, and garlic sauce, topped with satueed peppers. I also ordered a French toast and chai latte! Fast forward to when everyone dishes were dropped off, even though I was first to order my dish did not arrive. I waited around for 10-15 minutes, my whole family was pretty much done with their meals. I had to call over our waitress to advise my order was never dropped at the table. After letting her know, my dish was expedited to the table in less than 5 minutes. Could they have been a rush to send out the dish? Possibly. Because that was the worst dish ever and nothing like described. The peppers were not sautéed (or little to nothing) and were just sliced, plated for decor. The tomato/red pepper based sauce seemed like it was just canned tomato sauce, very liquid-y. Simply was not fond of this dish. The french toast were more like hard french toast sticks, I would've liked it to be on the fluffier end, but they were hard/toasted. Nothing that blew my mind. As far as my chai latte, it was divine! The perfect warm hug. The chai to steamed milk ratio was on point, and topped cinnamon. My mom ordered their $42 Entrecöte Frites; man, did that sound delicious. As a true steak connoisseur, she loves a bleeding rare steak! So that was the temperature she ordered, rare. I was excited to snag a bite or two from her plate to be the judge it for myself. The plate dropped the first time, she cut right in the middle of it to see the finishing temperature... it was wrong. Sent it right back. The second time it hit the table, the temperature was correct. A bright red center and a seared exterior, just what she was looking for. However, it was so salty, you just could not get past all the salt, nothing to enjoy. Not edible, unless you wanted clogged arteries right then and there! My wife ordered a caprese sandwich. Yes, I also took a bite of that while waiting my for my order(lol). The baguette bread was airy, delicious, and soft. The mozzarella was fresh and the tomatoes were nice and ripe. I also tried their croissants, almond and chocolate croissant, pistachio croissant, and Nutella croissant. They were buttery, flaky, and all the fillings complimented it well. My conclusion to La Boulangerie is you have to be selective about what you order from here. Maybe they had an off day and we were the unlucky ones, but the more complicated meals turned out to taste the worst. However, you can definitely enjoy light bites here... you can't go wrong with a baguette sandwich, coffee, or a pastry. I think baking and light fare is where their true expertise lies.

I enjoyed the overnight oats which had pumpkin seeds, coconut flakes and some dried banana chips. It was very healthy and filling. My brother had the waffles which had berries and a vanilla bean creme! We obviously were too excited and didn't get a chance to take a pic prior to eating. Overall, we had a nice time here and will probably be back but on a different day where it's not too busy. Not to mention the amazing looking pastries and coffees when you first walk in. I ordered the steak sandwich and have no complaints. The vegetables were roasted perfectly, the bread had a great toasted crunch to it, and there was a good amount of steak in my sandwich. In addition, the sauce that they put on the bread was so good! The portion size was great and I find the price point here to be pretty fair (~$21 after tip). It was really busy when we came in but there was still some seating open for us and we were seated right away. The food came out quickly and the staff is very friendly. I love how the food both looks delicious and tastes amazing as well! You don't have to sacrifice on flavor or price to get the aesthetic Instagram picture! Interior is clean and very welcoming. A great place to come with a smaller group to catch up and get a reasonably priced lunch that doesn't cut corners on quality or taste.
