    El Dos Ruedas "Colossal Cortadito"

Hi everybody! So I decided today that I would checkout a local no nonsense lunch spot in the Pinecrest / Palmetto Bay Area that had been recommended. "El Dos Ruedas" was nearby where I was running some errands, so I decided to check them out and I am very happy that I did. As expected they were very busy but in a few minutes I was sitting down and talking to my server. Seeing as this is down home Cuban lunch spot, I opted for the Steak Sandwich, a couple of Croquetas and a cup of their soup of the day, "Ajiaco". All food items were excellent and the service was courteous and fast. Afterwards I ordered the obligatory "Cortadito" aka Cuban Macchiato and outside of being awesome it was huge! Talk about value.... The portion sizes were excellent and their prices were extremely affordable to boot. The most expensive item on the menu was a whole fried snapper for $17 which is unheard of really. Most food items range between $2 and $10 which is great. Normally you would think cheap prices mean bad food but that is not the case at all here guys. Everything is very fresh as I would expect it to be with so much traffic. The restaurant is not large but they do move tables fast from what I could see so no issues there. Additionally, they also have plenty of parking as they are located in a strip mall but it can get a little congested at lunch time. Ambiance was great as well and very welcoming but that is pretty typical for family owned Cuban restaurants. Well I certainly will be coming back whenever I can and if you want to get some great quality affordable no nonsense Cuban food, you should definitely give them a shot. Hey, great opportunity to put those Spanish lessons to use! Just sayin.... LOL! Wishing everyone a great day. Enjoy and Bon Appétit!

This place never disappoints.. every time I go the food is GREAT! The service is great as well.

We just left zoo Miami and we are a family of four. We were craving some authentic Cuban food . We didn't want to drive too far and thankfully this place popped up . We really enjoyed this little gem. The food was delicious. We didn't wait long at all. we are very satisfied.

Super good super cheap cuban food

A great deal for authentic cuban food in the southwest part of the miami area. A good sign - lots of guys sitting at the diner style counter and many locals coming to pick up to go orders. We were seated right away and the menu was extremely reasonable with menu items priced from $4 to just under 8 dollars. Seriously there might have been something over 8 but I dont remember seeing it. They had an extensive breakfast menu and I wish it had been that time of day cuz I do love some breakfast but since it was nighttime I went with the fried pork plate. You get to choose 3 sides with your item and they bring out baskets of buttery garlic bread. Some other items my party got were the creole shrimp, flank steak, seafood soup (a meal in itself) and the rice with squid (and accompanying ink). Everyone liked their dishes and while it looked like our food might take a long time service was pretty quick. The best local food places are in strip malls like this...I highly recommend.

The food is amazing and it's cheap too. The portion is big as well! The servers were really sweet, especially since we didn't speak Spanish.

AMBIANCE Parking: Dedicated lot and surrounding parking options, though it can get busy during peak hours. Seating: Plenty! Large dining rooms capable of accommodating individuals, families, tour groups, and everyone in between. Vibes: Welcome to Little Havana. It's a bit spaced out for you to experience Cuban culture. The restaurant itself gives you that classic, old-school charm with some history of the Cuban community. I dig the Cuban music giving it a nice cultural touch. This spot is no hidden gem. This is a common place for everyone - locals to tourists. FOOD / DRINKS Cubano (Recommend) Ofcourse you have to get a Cubano. Nothing too flashy but definitely gets the job done. Classic pressed bread with a satisfying crunch with a medley of roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard to give it a nice savory and comforting taste. Every bite had a good balance of texture and flavor. CUSTOMER SERVICE Awesome! Efficient and experienced. They know this place serves a lot of people so they know they had to come correct. TL;DR OVERALL 5 Stars. Great selections, fair prices, and a solid cultural experience. Versailles does a great job perserving and celebrating Cuban culture. For those interested for that Cuban-Miami experience, this is the place to be. TIPS * Come hungry--the portions are generous

Our empanada was brought out along with our margaritas. The empanada was absolutely delicious!! So delicious!! The margaritas were ok. Our server then took our dinner order I ordered Media Noche (sloppy joe style). My husband ordered a Frita Cubana. When our food was served my so called Media Noche was a Cuban sandwich no sloppy Joe in any way. It was ok but I had a Cuban sandwich the day before that tasted so much better! Make sure you pay attention and don't add an additional tip. Also a photographer actually sat in my husbands bench seat to take a picture of the diners next to us! Really??? The food is the kind of Cuban cooking that makes you go quiet for a second: a beef and rice bowl with black beans, sweet plantains, and avocado that was rich and deep and comforting, plus a flaky empanada that disappeared in about four bites. Nothing felt like a tourist version of Cuban food. It felt like someone in the kitchen actually cares. Then the live music kicks in and the whole room lifts. A band right in the space, real Cuban son, the bartenders working behind that gorgeous bar like it is a performance of its own. An older waitress served our table. She first brought us calamari that was undercooked, sticky, and raw. She replaced it with octopus, which was more expensive, and we agreed to keep it. We also asked for tap water, but she brought us bottled water instead, which cost $10. The restaurant was very dark, making it difficult to notice these things right away. Before we had a chance to review everything, the food was already served. When the check arrived, she pressured me to pay quickly, so I didn't have enough time to carefully review the bill. Later, I realized we had been charged for additional side dishes that we never ordered, which increased the total significantly. This restaurant is wonderful and doesn't need these kinds of tactics. I only wish they employed more honest waitstaff. My advice is to carefully check your order and your bill before paying so you don't end up spending extra money or dealing with unnecessary stress that could ruin an otherwise enjoyable evening. I truly loved the atmosphere and the food, but I was very disappointed by the service. For me, the ambiance and food deserve 5 stars, while the service deserves only 1 star. That averages out to a 3-star review.
