Carl delivers results. I called Carl because my AC wasn't cooling my house properly. It would only reach down to 77 degrees. First call with Carl his question was "Are you down hard?". It's easy to tell apart a technician and a salesperson during conversations. I could tell this person was more concerned on technical details than making the next cash. When they arrived they immediately went to work, gathered data, and took actions. He told me that in a short while I would notice some difference in our house. And it sure did cooled the house to levels we hadn't felt before. One of the things that I appreciated the most was when he said he was on the conservative side when troubleshooting things. Although there were some things he mentioned that could need replacements like some valve, he instead waited and analyzed the data he was getting from his gadgets. I wish I could give Carl more than 5 stars! Our AC went out on July 4th of last year and it was miserable because Austin in July is no joke. My husband called Carl first thing the morning of the 5th and Carl came over a few hours later. Not only did Carl fix our AC but he educated my husband on different things to look at/try as well as completely re-did the line that runs from our AC as much to our disappoint what the builder had put in at the house was ineffective and not doing the job it was supposed to do. Fast forward a year and our AC started acting funny again and thanks to the extra time that Carl spent with my husband educating him, my husband was able to figure out the issue and resolve it on his own. Carl did it again. He's always been a "cool" guy when it comes to our a/c-heater needs. He did it again and QUICKLY!! AC went out (after 24 years) late last week. I can't say enough positive things about Carl and his work ethic. Late Sunday, around 6:30pm, we noticed that it was 80deg in my 19-month-old son's room. We then noticed that the AC was no longer blowing in the whole house. Normally so late on a Sunday my wife and I would've just waited till Monday to have someone come out, but we can't let our toddler sleep in a hot house with no AC. My wife and son went to have dinner with her family while I frantically called AC people around town. First person I tried said they were too tired, second people wouldn't return my call. Finally I found Carl and he was here in 15 minutes. ON A SUNDAY. I later found out he came after getting home from a long day of working all across town. When my AC went out I called a large company to fix the issue. They told me it was impossible to fix the issue and I would need to replace the whole AC system. I immediately questioned this as the technician only looked at the unit for five minutes before coming to this conclusion. I decided to seek a second opinion and was lucky enough to find Carl on yelp. I sent Carl a text and he responded within ten minutes. He took the time to diagnose the issue over the phone and was out the very next morning fixing my AC. Jay from Remedy Air & Appliance couldn't make it back out to finish the job due to scheduling so he called Carl. Carl was amazing! He came in with all the necessary parts and equipment. We had to have our fan motor replaced. He dismantled the necessary parts and took them to the porch to install the new motor to limit the mess before bringing the parts back in to reinstall. I've worked with Carl twice this year. Obviously, I would prefer not to require his services, since it means our A/C broke (late summer) and our heat did, too (early winter, but super-cold outside). Carl is a true professional. He did a full replacement of our downstairs A/C unit in July, and it was great work, completed within 24 hours of our call. Today, when I called about the heat (because it was literally freezing outside and 59 degrees in our bedroom), he was here within a couple of hours, found the problem, then returned within a few hours with a part to get it taken care of. He did all of this while suffering from the aftereffects of a torn rotator cuff and wearing a sling on his arm. Later, when the heat stopped working yet again, he came back at 7:45pm or thereabouts to work on it. He was here until after 9pm, and it's working well (there was a really dirty sensor of some sort). Keep in mind - he was still injured with rotator cuff issues! Carl is pleasant, prompt, and reasonably-priced. As a real estate broker, I've dealt with a solid number of HVAC contractors and repair people, and I would recommend Carl without any reservations. Well done, Carl! read more
