Food was good very nice and easy staff, seems like they ran out of budget for actual napkins and gave us some random paper rolls instead but no biggie on that. I have lower standards for fast food but will still rate it compared to restaurants Santa fe chicken sandwich: I'll admit, I got this for free because of my coupon. My first time trying this burger (and one of my very few times trying carls jr in general). Surprisingly juicy and moist chicken breast. After finishing, there was just a pool of juice on the tray. With minimal ingredients, bun, chicken, cheese, sauce and lettuce, it lacked flavor. What flavor there was was good, it wasnt depriving of flavor but I wouldve preferred more. The lettuce flavor was too strong, kinda annoying. I usually like lettuce but I think the placement of it being below the chicken was annoying. Cheese wasnt fully melted. Most of the price is definitely from the chicken. Fries: shape, size, and texture similar to mcdonalds. The big difference is flavor. Not bad but less flavor than mcdonalds. Also for being small fries, lots of them are pretty long Buffalo sauce: Buffalo sauce surprisingly liquidy. Reminds me of franks red hot. I wouldnt get it again Overall got pretty full so cant complain. Kinda a healthy burger which isnt what im looking for. I wouldnt get this again. I'll say the chicken was moist and tender but thats about it. Extra Wait time surprisingly long for an empty restaurant. Drive thru was busy, it wasnt that long but I expected faster for an empty fast food restaurant. Idk if im in the wrong, told the cashier I wanted to use my coupon, she asked me what burger, I said santa fe chicken sandwich, she added it and then in a kinda condescending way, explained to me I needed a purchase of 1$ or more. I already knew that, I then waited for her to finish talking so I could say small fries. I was sitting when the same lady walked to me to serve me my meal, restaurant style. And was generally really nice and polite. Way nicer than our last interaction The same lady was also doing the drive thru when I was waiting to order During my time, saw 2-3 people coming in. I was gonna rate it 3 stars but actually comparing to other restaurants, it is a 4 star. The food was good and actually better than some other places ive been to. I had a coupon to use so I pulled up. There was no one in line. I ordered my combo and arrived at the window. The experience was super speedy and the gentleman was polite at the window. He handed me my food and said "have a great day". I sat there waiting for my drink. He then asked me if I needed anything, I told him "my drink". Came here to order some food. At least 5 combo meals we were from out of town and it was the only thing open near our hotel. By the time we tried to pay to get our food the worker says we were being racist and talking crap to the car in front of us. Like how??? We never came out of our car at all. We were in the car waiting in line. I could not believe what I heard from the worker. I was livid when they would not let us get our order. Honestly felt like it was a race issue they had against us. When we left the manager answered after the 4th time I called and tried to tell us we were in the wrong. That is insane! We had to wait 15 minutes for them to take her order at the drive-through and then 20 minutes after that to and get our food they complained of being slammed with two tables in the diner in one car behind us and one in front of us there were three other cars in the parking lot waiting for over 20 minutes for their food as well!!! I rarely review fast food, but this location has become consistently bad I felt the need. It seems almost the entire staff have issues listening and completing orders correctly, especially for things like no mayo, no veggies, etc. My son is picky so I always order hamburgers plain and specifically say " just meat and cheese". My most recent experience, the drive thru staff actually repeated my order back to me...still got it wrong. My son's burger was loaded with mayo and veggies. I highly recommend customers to check their food to make sure their orders are right before they leave the drive thru window. Carl Jr's show some appreciation to your customers by getting it right. My dogs enjoyed my son's Really Big Carl cheeseburger after I scraped off the mayo and veggies. read more

I have always had a great experience at this location until today. Not only did we receive our food cold and not cooked well done as we asked (and our receipt reflected this request), but we witnessed the shift manager (Angelique) throw someone out for the store's own inadequacies. This poor gentleman waited in line for 10 minutes to ask to have his burger remade (because it too was made incorrectly), and the store manager said they would fix it. He patiently waited and then noticed that staff, including the shift manager, were busy working on all other orders instead of ensuring their error was promptly corrected. At this point, the gentleman spoke up to ask why they weren't preparing his replacement burger. She told him he had to be patient even though he'd been waiting for a while. He was upset and threw his receipt on the floor and walked out. The shift manager proceeded to yell at him that he was no longer welcome at this location. Needless to say, I refuse to patronize an establishment that is so disrespectful to the people paying for such crappy service. read more

What has happened to Carl's fried zucchini? There is only a hint of zucchini inside the soggy breading. There used to be a slice of zucchini and now it's as thin as a potato peel. I also ordered the Star burger. It had fresh vegetables and a giant fluffy bun but the patty was pathetic. Supposed to be "charbroiled" and it was anemic looking, gray, and barely warm. The BEST of the two Carl's Jr. restaurants here in Chico. Food always smells and tastes fresh, is accurately prepared, and consistently delicious. Having been a vegetarian for the past 12 years, I highly recommend the Beyond Famous Star veggie burger with cheese, as it is both nutritious and amazingly tasty. I also recommend the fried zucchini, which I always substitute for fries, since it is more calorie-friendly and nutritious compared to fries. Good job Carl's Jr.! read more

Very dirty outside, lots of garbage outside for 9am. We initially wanted to sit down to eat but discovered there was not a clean table in the whole place, lots of crumbs and grease smears on the tables. Big soda spill stain in front of the trash cans inside that looks like it had been there for more than a day. This is in full view upon walking into the restaurant. The drink station was a disaster, with food and garbage stains in full view near the trash opening of the station. We changed our order to-go as a result and the food was surprisingly good. Usually Carl's Jr is pretty good, but the one in front of Chico Mall was not very appetizing. The food came as soon as me and my boyfriend sat down. Our burgers were very dry, barely any sauce and the burgers tasted old. The fries were tasteless. No salt or grease to them. I came to get greasy fast food not food that's been sitting on the counter for the whole day! The cinnamon pull-aparts were gross. I got a stomach ache from the not fully cooked bread. The icing was dry and hard, and it was not sweet at all. Also, any kind of soda- or lemonade- you would get out of the machine, would be mixed with water. Now I've seen this before at gas stations, but there was more water than usual. I told the cashier that the soda machine might be broken, and she said "no it's not." Okay then! ATTENTION! This Carl's Jr. is a joke, the manager here is a joke. I never seen someone careless about there job or customers . I went to this establishment to buy my friend and I a meal. We order the new angus burger. I'm well aware of the covid-19 regulations, because of that we enjoyed our food in the parking lot. Conveniently right in front of the entrance door, close to a trash can so we could throw away our garbage and not in the parking lot. I happen to notice a man ( not wear a mask, or Carl's Jr. uniform exiting the Carl's Jr. with a fresh soda). So I thought I could grab a soda refill inside. After I was finished with my meal, i put on my mask, threw away my food and entered the building to get a refill. When I asked for a refill nicely, the lady manager wearing a grey shirt denied me of a refill. When I asked why she said because of covid and they can't take back cups. When I asked for a new cup she told me no. I reminded here I payed over 30$ for my meals and asked nicely for a refill. She said no, then I said I seen some one just walk out of here with out a mask and a soda and she responded to me with "that's none of my business and to get out". I thought that was the rudest heartless response ever. I'm evacuated from my house because of the bear fire, my whole neighbor hood burnt down. This whole county is suffing from a catastrophic disaster, on top of covid! For a manger to treat a costumer like that is absurd and heartless! Elisa was very rude we asked for warm chocolate chip cookies and she said there is no way we can warm them up for you. Another worker politely said we can warm them up on the stove, Elisa then under her breath said " I'm not warming them up". We stand there confused and she goes to the other worker who suggested warming the cookies for us upset because he had offered us that option. It would take a minute longer to just warm up cookies. This was the second time they've given me the wrong order in four trips. I was stoked Carl's had a veggie burger finally and two out of four trips when I actually got one it was actually pretty good. Ordered a lettuce wrap bacon guacamole burger with American instead of pepper jack and only received one piece of bacon with no guacamole, pepper jack cheese with this nasty yellow sauce that caked the whole thing. Went on a drive to grab some food and hadn't had Carl's Jr. in a long time, so I decided to swing through the drive through. The lady that took my order was rude and rushing me when no one was in line. I settled on a $5 box and it was as delicious as fast food could get, until I went for the last of the fries at the bottom of the box and discovered a nice little friend who enjoyed my lunch with me. I called the manager and let him know I was absolutely nauseous at the thought of if I just ate more bugs, not wanting anything out of it, and the managers response was that he didn't know who boxed it but he'd "tell the team". I came in here because I wanted fried zucchini. Somehow I remembered it as being good. Today not so much tasted freezer burnished. Plus it was $1 extra with the combo not told about until I paid. After I asked. I asked about a senior discount and receive that. The hamburger was good at least I could taste the hamburger. The young gal that took my order had the personality of a snail not very friendly and kind of condescending when I asked for the senior discount. Ordered my food through the drive thru. The man that took my order didn't even greet me. He said, "Want to try the Mile High Bacon Burger?" Me, "Yeah, let's do that. Low carb style please" Employee "What size?" Me: "Uh?" Employee: Single, double, 1/2 or 1/3. Me: I guess I'll go with the 1/2 Mind you this entire time I am caught off guard by the employee's voice and lack of professionalism. Employee: What size? Me: 1/2 Employee: No what size for the fries and drink. Me: Oh. Small I guess. Employee: What to drink? Me:Diet soda. You got that Low carb style right? Employee: Yes. Anything else? Me: Can I get the Jalapeno Thick Burger 1/3 pound with a Dr. Pepper Employee: So you want the combo? By this time I am thinking the employee sounds sluggish to me and I start thinking he is high. Me: Yes. Employee: Anything else? Me: No thank you. Employee: Your total is $18.25. Please pull forward to the second window. At least he said please. When I pull up to the window my curiosity got the better of me. I asked the employee at the window if the employee that took my order was high? BIG MISTAKE. The employee said, " I don't know. Then, the employee that is a shift leader who took my order stuck his head out the window as he is handing me my food and said," I was multitasking and you know, you don't ask my employees those type of questions. This is my voice and how it sounds. Maybe, I wouldn't have sounded high if you would have had your order ready and organized." My response, "Dude, why are you giving me attitude? I'm sorry that my question offended you, but you do sound high." " Well, I don't appreciate your attitude. I'm a shift leader and I don't do that stuff." Me: "If you keep on giving me attitude, your going to have to give my money back." He stopped with the attitude, but said, "Next time just be more organize." Me: That's it! I'm writing a review on Yelp. I was actually afraid to go home and eat my food... The employee did sound high and it was an honest mistake and from the reviews I have read I am probably not the first or the last to ask that question. Carl's Jr. you may want to drug test your employee's at least once a year... P.S. The food was good. Also, I worked in fast food and the majority of the time the "Shift leaders" were high.
