I stopped early in the morning after a long flight -- it was the only place open near the airport, so I figured I could at least get something simple to eat. The food was horrendous. It had clearly been sitting in the warmer far too long, and the manager on duty couldn't have cared less. He acted like my concerns were a waste of his time. I've managed restaurants before, and I can't imagine ever running an operation this poorly. The place was dirty, bathroom was disgusting, and the few employees working that morning clearly didn't care -- and honestly, why would they, when the manager set that tone himself? I got Uber Eats from here late at night, as I used to love the Hardee's Frisco burger as a kid growing up in the Midwest. They've discontinued it, but you can still piece it together by removing the American cheese, lettuce, and "classic sauce." They missed some order notes, but it was still close to what I remember. Disappointed they don't have curly fries anymore. The new fries were nothing special, as expected. I was also sad to see they've discontinued biscuits and gravy, which I was raised on. Service is fast, efficient, and I've never had a problem, parking lot is usually very busy almost full even late at night but I've always been able to find a parking place so turnover in the lot is good. I often stay at the Hilton a half a block away, I'm a serious traveler. There are few options to ear in the area. This place needs a serious lesson in how to treat customers. The security guard will come harass you and ask you to leave for no reason whatsoever. Waiting to check in to your hotel? Waiting for someone to come pick you up? Waiting for a flight? Don't bother, she will kick you out even if the place is empty, you're just sitting doing nothing, waiting to use the bathroom after your food digests. Oh and she doesn't care if your disabled, wearing a huge back brace and carrying a heavy bag. Just go sit on the sidewalk or something. Ok, so I know this place has low stars by others, but I get why this place struggles and I don't blame the hard workers. The employees here are always very nice to me whenever I have a lunch or breakfast, and even any late dinners. I never had any problems with their drive thru either. They always communicate properly and get my orders correct, from what I've experienced. The BAD? It's not the workers... It's the customers! Not all of them, but many of them are mostly homeless and/or druggies who cause problems to where this Carl's has to have security constantly making sure the other customers are safe. The bad customers tend to mess with some of the nice ones and/or they overstay their welcome in more ways than one. Employees here seem to really care about them and their good customers' well-beings, especially when it's customers who are coming in from LAX....so that in itself, I applaud a ton because it's not easy to deal with all that! The food is always great, they also have a cool digital bottomless soda fountain with a good variety of drinks, the seating and parking is super cool and they keep things clean! This used to be a great place to grab a bite to eat and rest a bit before heading to pick up someone from the airport. Things have really changed now. Sat down to eat for 30 minutes and security comes by to rudely say there's a 1 hour time limit. Okay went to the parking lot to sit in my car for a few minutes and security races out to say you can't be parked here without ordering something. Why don't they do something about the homeless and druggies camping in the restrooms instead of harassing paying customers? This was the only restaurant next to our hotel at LAX, the Hilton, but thank goodness. First, I had never tried Carl's. We had Hardees, but not this brand in our state. Second, because we have seen ads, youtube videos, posts, etc...this had been on my daughter's food bucket list to try, so now I get to check it off the list. Third, unlike where I live, the lobby was open and you can eat in person at fast food, almost zero fast food lobbies are open near me to eat inside a restaurant. Truthfully, this place taste exactly like Burger King. It is good, the meat seems to be flame broiled. The chicken was pretty crispy, the flavors were fine. When you think of fast food restaurants, you don't think of fancy restaurant setup: not well lit, small, not cozy, looks old and dirty bathrooms. This one was different! I enjoy coming here for quick bites because it is a totally different experience! Customer service was also great, food came quick (fast food restaurant, I know ) and was served hot. Not to mention, the seats are clean and spacious, too! The food: - Super star/ Famous star (10/10): Carl's Jr classics but they indubitably taste the best! . Buns are fresh, puffy and chewy, which is my ideal textures when it comes to the buns of burgers! The beef patties are juicy and savory! The lettuce are fresher compared to other fast food restaurants and their grilled onion was like the icing on the cake because the burger smell even better with them. -Fries (10/10): When you taste them, you know the seasoning is unique in a good way! They are also crispy. Chicken Tenders (9.5/10): These are like my must-have sides. They are very juicy and crunchy! Overall, other Carl's Jr branches in LA probably serve the same quality of food. I attempted to contact the restaurant as soon as I could to inform them that night, but I received no answer. The receipt became unreadable due to oil from the food, so I threw it out, but I still had proof of the purchase via my credit card transaction history, but when I entered the drive thru again, they would not accept that and demanded the receipt. I rather enjoyed my Beyond burger and fries. Ordered it at about 1am, so it actually exceeded my expectations for food at that hour. The downside is that they close the dining room at 10pm, and it's drive-in only until closing. The issue was that I was on foot. I stood next to the drive-in microphone for a good couple of minutes and ultimately motioned for the car that was waiting behind me to advance to the microphone. My thinking was that perhaps there is a sensor that I wasn't tripping. Right away the box came to life and I went ahead and ordered. When I got to the window, I was chastised and told that I wasn't going to have my order taken because walk ups are not allowed. I informed the young guy that I had already ordered and was just picking up. Begrudgingly he "allowed" me to pay for the food that was already prepared. Welp, it's been awhile since I've stopped here, no need to use LAX. Yikes the whole area is a giant demolition zone. I didn't pop inside, while the area is generally free of "the unhoused", it didn't look inviting to exit the vehicle. The drive through experience went well though. The mic and speaker worked, the lady taking the other was competent, and it was prepared correctly. No complaints. I looked inside the window as I got my order and nothing odd was going on inside.
