The tenders were a great size, great flavor and seasoning and they were perfectly crispy. Their fries were fresh crispy and made with real potatoes. I also ordered a hibiscus lemonade which I loved but it would be great if it came in a bigger size option and more lemon. I called around 5:35 to make sure they were still taking orders and they were so we came down and ordered a 3 piece chicken and a shrimp basket both orders came with fries. The guy taking the order was really helpful and kind, I really wanted to love this place and have had my eye on it for 6 months but my 3 piece chicken fell short - I don't know if the oil was old , but it was not breaded well breaded bc It fell apart - the chicken inside was good tho. This place has an great idea and it's working. Food: I ordered the 4 piece chicken tenders combo it comes with fries or onion rings or you can go half & half and a soft drink. The tenders are massive when say massive its basically a whole chicken breast. The Batter is light and has flavor and the tenders stay hot. I had a tender sitting there for a good 20 minutes and bit into it and steam was still coming out. It was on point my guy. The fries are seasoned and the onions rings were perfect. Light Batter crunchy but not over cooked. (1). The strips come plain and you get to choose your dipping sauce. That's what I meant when I said they have a great idea. Your flavors come in a separate container which means you can dip the same strip in different sauces giving you options on each bite. It's AMAZING!!! They have some really good sauce flavors. My favorite is the Jerk Ranch, and the Nashville Hot. Service: The staff is great. There patient, polite, helpful, attentive, and it makes you feel good to be there. Great job team. They even swing by your table and pick up your Trays or trash. It was great. Atmosphere: You can dine indoors, it's a small but nice spot. They have TV's but it mostly plays news or talk television. Sports would be nice to watch and appreciated. They also have a patio sliding glass door that opens to the market street sidewalk but they don't use it. In fact it's used for storage and the items block the glass doors which is a waste because it could be such a great way to enjoy your food. This is a missed opportunity in my opinion. Price: It's about $16 for a 4 piece tender combo and it's worth every cent. I've been here twice and have yet to finish the whole combo. Location: Its in Inglewood CA on market street if you know you know. Its a small sign so be sure to look for it. Parking: Parking can be tough, you have to pay for street parking by meters but there is a garage you can park at and walk. It's about a 5-7 minute walk. Don't be lazy. They don't have the full menu available for the soul food part. We received spoiled pork chops. We ordered hot Buffalo chicken strips they gave me just regular fried chicken strips fried in bad oil when you open the container you could smell the bad cooking oil and spoiled pork chops. The ranch spilled all in the bag before we even made it home. When we went get our money back the lady tells me she usually don't give money back. She tries to redo your food. Everything about this place is a 10/10. We came for Sunday brunch and the food HIT THE SPOT! There's big screen TVs inside, perfect to watch the games. They are known for their chicken strips and various dips, so we had to give that a try. The chicken strips were cooked and seasoned to perfection! They have a variety of flavored lemonade, and I got the hibiscus lemonade which was really good. For my entree I got the breakfast sampler since I wanted to try a little bit of everything. Overall my experience was meh. With the expense of fast food increasing because of the COVID and inflation bumps I am more discerning how I spend my money. That being said I'll give S&D an 'A' for effort. Located in Downtown Inglewood, this area is experiencing a gentrification renaissance. Now to the review. The ambience is nice, no change from the previous restaurant. The service was great. The employees took my order over the phone and it was ready when I got. All with a smile. But my biggest letdown is the food. While the portion is nice I think there needs to be more development of the menu items. They only serve chicken, fish and vegetables strips with fries or onion rings and drinks. There are various dips you can get for your order. I tried the chicken sandwich with half fries, half onion rings and an Arnold Palmer. The fries and rings were ok. The chicken sandwich was 2 large strips on a Brioche bun. The bun was soft and delicious. It would love a little more toasted to mine but maybe that's something I should ask for. The strips were a nice size probably about 3 oz each. The seasoning was good but I tasted a raw flour aftertaste. Need to add more seasoning to the dusting. My favorite was the Arnold Palmer 10/10. In the end, I would try them again to see if any tweaks have been done and ask for toasted bun. read more
