How does this place stay in business? This location has been here for decades. Other big chains like applebees couldnt hold up. The powerhouse "Sizzler" couldn't make it. Everything else closes. Only a couple blocks from California's pride, In N Out burgers. They are still standing. I've been here many times and I've never seen it busy here. Is it because they never remodel. The menu board is still from the 90's. The front signs are showing huge wear and the letters are fading. The furniture and plastic booths have never changed. Due to work, I had to come here the last 2 days. both days were excellent. The service was phonemal. The care and attention they gave me was excellent. The food was OK. It was what is expected. I ordered a small chicken bacon Swiss combo. I was shocked to find out the total was $16 bucks. I don't know about you all but seems pricey to me for 1 fast food combo meal. It was ok. This evening as I was driving home on my Long Ass commute home to Newark (Hate fricking Facebook and dumbarton bridge) I was craving same combo meal. Time for a positive review! I swing by here more than I care to admit in the mornings for a biscuit and literally every time it comes out hot and fresh. Hats off to this fast food joint for excellent service as most fast food places in the Bay Area are disgusting and the food comes out like garbage. This place never fails to provide a good biscuit sandwich and the customer service is on point. I went inside onetime expecting a dirty interior given the building is super old looking, but to my surprise it's extremely well kept and clean given its age. It's clear a great team works here and they should be a model for other Carl's Jr. as well as the Wendy's, McDs, Taco Bell's, and others in the area should shadow the employees. Went though the drive through. Pre-covid, I'd go to this Carl's Jr. every once in awhile and it was fine. Your standard Carl Jr that occasionally may mishear but they were good. Since covid this was my first time going back. In the world of Covid masks should at least be standard. Wasn't here. I saw one person wearing a mask, another had theirs below their chin walking around, and the worst, the drive through attendant didn't have a mask at all. No mask. No gloves. And he was damn near falling out the drive through window, leaning over, no mask and all. Doubt he was cleaning hands between customers as hand sanitizer wasn't in site. I've been attempting to eat low carb--that's wear Carl's Junior comes in. All of their burger can be made low carb (i.e. without the bun and lettuce wrapped). You just have to ask for a lettuce wrapped burger. I've never been inside this location because drive thru has been the easiest for me. The employees are courteous and have gotten my order right nearly every time. No complaints from me. read more

However, if I had to choose my favorite fast foods, it will be Carl's Jr hands down. How much do I love Carl's Jr? Anyways, the main reason why I visit this location most is simply because this is the closest to where I live in Redwood City. The second reason is because there is hardly ever a line there at the drive through. This place has gone down hill. I dont know how they are still in business. I grew up in Redwood City and over the years it has always served up my burgers and fries the way I like it. Recently from 2014 to 2018 they cant seem to get anything right. The criscut fries taste like they have been made before and sat on heating pan for hours. By the time you order them and have them it tastes like your eating cardboard. My husband has recently gotten sick twice from eating there. My daughter who is 10 years old also got sick from eating there. We went there last week and when she ordered her food she asked for NO ONIONS. The cashier an older woman was suprised because my daughter is young but very articulate and capable of ordering her own meals. When she got her burger it was loaded with onions. This place is disgusting. While we waited for our food inside a drive thru customer came in very upset to return something she ordered and expressed how disgusted she was. She expressed that she asked for this burger to be made with specific ingredients and they couldnt even do that for her so she asked for a refund. I went through the drive thru and I gave them my credit card to pay for my food, they gave me my food and the lady said that's it. I was in a rush so I forgot my drinks and my CREDIT CARD! I called them like 10 times and noone answered, finally the manager answered and said you didn't leave anything here and she hang up. This morning, I was in Redwood City and was a little hungry for breakfast. Since I'm not from the area, I just drove around to see what's available. Lo and behold, I arrived at this Carl's Jr. For the record, I normally do not review fast food chains unless something REALLY sticks out and I just have to. I ordered the Big Country breakfast combo, which comes with a burrito (loaded with pretty much a little bit of everything off their breakfast menu) with tater tot sides and coffee. The side order of tots tasted... weird. VERY weird. Like, not simply under/overcooked or under/over salted, but, weird, like, there's a very distinct aftertaste similar to what Windex smells like as it evaporates off windows. I know something is wrong because there are tots in the burrito which tasted fine (and by fine, I mean government-approved ingredients and flavorants which won't kill me but will probably give me diarrhea). I don't like throwing away uneaten food but I have nothing against throwing away uneaten poison. On a side note, I'm the second customer of the day and when I pushed the coffee canister lever, it ran out of coffee when my cup was only half-way full. Hmm.... Btw, the primary purpose for this review is documentation of what I ate earlier today, just in case I am admitted to the hospital later. read more

I decided to try the Carl's Jr Monday night and wow was I impressed! I tried the new 1/2 pound version of the original six dollar burger. The burger was really good for fast food. Taste/Quality: It had a artisan bun which was really large and capable of handling all the juices from the meat and sauce, plus the sweet pickle enhanced the flavor. The patty was really large and pretty close to a 1/2 lbs. Price: For the meal, it ran about $10.50 (after tax) Service: Friendly and nice. But this is a hit and miss with this location, it all depends on who is working that day. Some of the staff needs an attitude adjustment. Overall, I LOVE the new original six dollar burger, but I'm also a fan of the 1/3 lb regular version of the six dollar burger too. I'll be coming here more often. Bye bye McDonalds .... read more

Carl's is kind of a go-to place when Hubster and I are hungry, cranky and can't make up our minds about what to eat. The service at this one is pretty good (and bilingual) and it's pretty clean inside considering it's a fast food joint that probably sees a lot of kids. +1 star b/c they always get it right when I tell them no onion rings on my western bacon cheeseburger. This is also a Green Burrito location but I've never tried that side of the menu. I think their drive thru is open 24 hours. read more
