Stopped here at 7:40 to grab food to go since it's the first thing we have come across for 100 miles. We walked in, sign says lobby closes at 8pm. We were kicked out and told lobby is closed and would have to use the drive thru. We are towing a u-haul and there is no way for us to fit through their oddly shaped drive thru. We walked out and they immediately locked the door. There were about 10 people sitting inside when we were kicked out. The owner of this place needs to fire everyone working there and start with new employees. The employees were arguing with each other the whole time we were there. They were using the f-bomb and talking loudly about going back to jail. They seemed annoyed while we were ordering our food and lacked any kind of customer service skills. Then there's the food. The burgers were disgusting. The meat was burned and had zero flavor and we are certain the buns were expired, they fell apart like they were super old and they tasted old and terrible. Half of my bun was dry and falling apart like it was very old and the other half was soggy like it had been sitting in water. When my family came here the restaurant was 5 minutes until closing. And when I went to the bathroom and came back the gate closed, separating me and my family I had to ask an employee to open it. Worst customer service of any place I've been. We confirmed our order with the cashier multiple times and they assured us that we had ordered the correct sandwich. When we got our order it was the wrong sandwich and when we went up to them to get the correct food, they blatantly ignored us and continued to talk in the back, before having no choice but to speak to us. I've been here a couple of times, being local, and all I have to say is watch what you order. Any slight change will cost you, and the sides are very expensive for what you get. The place is clean, the service barely adequate, typical of fast food today with young kids only there because their parents insist they get a job. Enthusiasm lacking. Today I ordered a side of fried zucchini, thinking a side would be larger than the tiny portion coming with a combo meal. It wasn't. This place is our regular stop on our way to Colorado from L.A. every year. Food is served fresh and hot, great service with a smile too! This year I had the unfortunate experience of losing my wallet in their parking lot. Another traveler found it and brought it into Carl's Jr. for them to hold it in their lost and found. I didn't realize I'd lost it until I was already close to home about an 8 hour drive away! Sheldon the General Manager at this location said he had it and would mail it to me. I offered to compensate him for his honesty and kindness and he wouldn't accept my money. I grew up in the big city where it's sometimes hard to find such commendable acts of kindness. The world would be a much better place with more people like Sheldon and his crew at this Carl's Jr. I write this review so others will stop and meet these amazing people and get something great to eat too! I got two breakfast burgers, and it sent me into a blast from happy childhood past. The bread was toasted, and the cheese was melted just right, flanked by crispy tater tots and a fluffy folded egg. I was on a long, all day journey home. I had already gotten screwed at a Denny's in Grand Junction and wasted 30 minutes there. I was starving and needed gas by the time I was going by Salina and I was thanking my lucky stars when I saw Carl's Jr. in one of the gas stations there. Plus, who we think was the manager, was super friendly to every single customer.
