Love a good hometown burger joint and this one did not disappoint! Always a good sign when the restaurant is full. Tables turned over quickly so we were seated in about 5 minutes. It's not a fancy place...but great burgers and fries. We waited about 25 minutes for our food which is what they quoted those who asked. We all got the Bacon Cheeseburger and Fries. Well, there claim is pretty legit. Very legit. It's an unassuming place with unassuming prices that buy you great food and friendly service. Seriously, like way back when friendly service and prices. We had the hand cut fries, a patty melt and bacon jalapeño burger--both with side salads--and a drink...all for $35. The burgers and fries were great. Good burgers at a great price! Stopped here on our way back home from Park City. The gal who worked the register and served was very sweet. She gave us menus and directed us to sit anywhere we'd like. The burger menus is quite extensive, and they all come with fries, soup or salad. 3 of us ordered cheeseburgers and 1 got the loaded burger, all with fries on the side. Food is cooked to order, which took about 15 minutes. Our 3 cheeseburgers came out first with the loaded burger just a couple minutes behind. Fries were hot and plentiful, and we all enjoyed our burgers. Hubby noted that the guac on his burger was on the lemony/limey side, so that's good for patrons to know. Also ordered the ribeye steak sandwich. The steak was way too cooked that it could have been jerky! No flavor or seasoning to it. Had to ask for mayo and mustard hoping that would help. Nope! Salted the heck out of it to give it a little bit of flavor. Someone needs to tell the cook to time the burgers and especially the steak on the griddle. The restaurant was also very chilly. While passing through Beaver, Utah, we stopped for lunch at Arshel's Loaded Burger. It had gotten great reviews, so we decided to check it out. And it did not disappoint. I went with the Japaleno Bacon Burger, and my wife got a chicken sandwich. I believe it was the Chicken Bacon Ranch. Both our sammiches were great. Tasty, full of flavor, not too messy, and a good, hearty size. I got a side of the corn chowder soup, which was absolutely magnificent. I love me some fries, and theirs were great, but if you get an opportunity to get that soup, I would definitely recommend it. Get a side of fries if you must, just TRY THE SOUP! My wife got the fries, so I enjoyed some of hers. They were crispy golden, and well seasoned. The service was fast and friendly, the place was clean, and it had quite a few customers, so I'm guessing it's a favorite with the locals as well. Definitely worth a stop if you're hungry and in the area. A couple things of note: Bring cash if you can. They do charge to use an ATM or credit card. Visiting Utah from New Jersey. Was driving to SLC from Hurricane when my girlfriend and I decided it's time for lunch and we found this spot. We were blown away with the burgers. So amazing that we kept saying "oh yea this was a good choice." Lots of food for the price. We got loaded steak fries, the Zion burger and the Tahoe burger. Easily the best burger I've ever had! I had the Big "B" burger, did not disappoint. My wife had the regular cheeseburger and daughter had the patty melt ... fastest I've ever seen them down their food. Prices are very affordable and it's worth the wait, as everything including the fries are made fresh when you order. Other comments about the wait don't consider that there are only 3 spots to eat in Beaver and, in our case, the other 2 were closed. The Burger came with guacamole on top, there was plenty, and it was really good! It came with bacon, and it was just OK. The loaded burger came with Swiss cheese, guacamole, and bacon. It was good. The french fries were good, hand cut from a real potato. When we received our fries, they were a little soggy. They still tasted OK, and enjoyed them. It just would've been nice to have them fresh out of the fryer! The first service was good, friendly, nice staff. When we sat down, we were advised that our food would take about 10 minutes. Which was nice to hear how much time it would take. The restaurant is small. One side of the restaurant has two booths, and the other side has table and chairs. The restaurant was clean and decorated with cute signs. We thought that they had pie, but the day we went, the owner was not there, so pie wasn't available! This is a great find on the road between SLC and St. George. Be aware that there is no signage other than a big, neon "Arshel's" sign on the north side of the building. Serious burgers with a lot of options. Presentation is on a wood slab. Well-crafted burger, what looks and tastes like hand-cut fries. Or you may opt for a simple salad. We chose the Loaded burger. And it was loaded. Meaty mushrooms, chunky guacamole, onions, cheese. Two of us chose without a bun and the burger came ready to wrap in lettuce. Be aware that their fryer fries everything, including battered cod, so not gluten free. But bunkers burger with a side salad was satisfying. We didn't try the homemade pies, but they looked delicious. There are also a lot of drinks to choose from. Drinks are brought to you in a very large cup. Clean establishment. Found this place off the beaten path. The Yelp reviews don't lie. It is very fresh. Takes a minute as the food is staggered coming out but it is definitely all home made. We also appreciate they bring the food out as it is ready so we get hot food instead of waiting for the rest to be done. We came 15 minutes before closing and they sat us with no issue. A lot of places when you come in so close to closing you can tell they aren't happy, but this was NOT the case. They were friendly. We got 3 different burgers, tried the potato soup and the fries. It was truly all very tasty. Here's the breakdown - the soup could have been more hot, it was just warm (I do like piping hot soup), the cheese on the burgers could have been more melted. They were just a bit warmed as well, definitely not melted. We all LOVED the burgers. The lettuce was so fresh and green. The pickle ls and tomatoes were fresh and crisp. The fries won us over the soup. But we will try another kind of soup next time. All this being said we know we came pretty much at closing time and we did feel a bit bad, but they provided great service. HUGE plus, the bathroom is SUPER clean!!! We travel through multiple times a year. 8 to 10 times. Please know there is no option for tipping on the credit card machine so bring CASH to tip. They deserve it. Absolutely excellent! I had the Big B without the bun and it was perfect, so juicy and flavorful. And they serve it with three huge pieces of lettuce to wrap it in, something most places Simply overlook. Hubs had the Zion burger which he said was fantastic. Dinner salad not much to carry on about but the ranch dressing was very good. Fries seemed fresh cut and we got them crispy. They were great. Even the fry sauce, something I'm usually not wild about, was perfect. They do everything right here including the service. It's a little divey, locals place on the main street of Beaver. Easy to miss during the day as there is no real signage. At night there is a great big Arshel's neon sign on the side of the building. Large selection of sandwiches and burgers with homemade pies for desert. We did not get a chance to try the pies but wished we had. As I said, it's a locals place. The main server was a hoot, knew everyone and yelled at the boys for not finishing their lunch. I had a patty melt with fries and the wife had a Moab burger (bacon, onion rings) and fries. All the burgers come with lettuce and tomato on the side along with ketchup and fry sauce. Service was fast and fun, food was filling and tasty. What more do you want from a roadside joint. When we do Vegas to SLC (and vice versa) it's usually Cedar City for lunch but Beaver is now on the list places to go. read more
