I was just there not long ago and I just got off a closing shift so I'm tired, I don't wanna make a mess in the kitchen, I just want something ready to eat. Plus in my kitchen/living room someone sleeps on the couch so I don't want to make so much noise. I asked for no cheese on my burger and they said okay, when to the window payed and I will say bad on my part was not checking my receipt but I expect you to be paying full attention to me talking about my order to you. I didn't check the bag until I got home but once I did I was really annoyed. I'm lactose intolerant so I can't have cheese, I'm not a fan of it either. I'm sad I have to waste this food, I'm annoyed I payed for this and it's not what I asked for at all. I only went through the drive through so keep that in mind. Drive up and they take your order right away. The menu is bright and clear. The speaker is clear and loud. The building is old but it stands alone which is cool. More and more rare nowadays. The parking lot is huge. I saw a kids okay area which is also rare, though I can't vouch it's open for use. Took about 10 minutes to get food with no one in line in front of me. Which tells me they probably don't have many workers and also they don't have stuff ready and waiting which I guess that's good in a way. Fresher food. I for the California Classic Double Cheeseburger and it was pretty good! And according to the menu only 420 calories. Also had a grilled chicken sandwich. Also pretty good. Shoutout to Martin!! He provides great customer service, is always friendly with us, and makes sure our order is correct. He's always there during the night shifts, even on weekends and holidays. We've seen him working on Christmas and New Year's! He's often juggling multiple jobs, sometimes even cooking while handling the cashier because they're short-staffed. Great dude! I wasn't much of a fast food person until my boyfriend and his family introduced me to Carl's Jr. Now, I'm hooked! Our go-to order is the Double western bacon cheeseburger and fried zucchini. Perfect for those late night munchies. Our orders are always perfect--hot and ready on time. I've tried other Carl's Jr. locations, but this one never disappoints. Please be patient with the staff. It's surprising to see negative reviews, especially for a place that's open 24/7. So you can imagine what the employees deal with everyday, especially at night time--everything from rowdy customers to unexpected situations. If you want respect, give it back. It's a little embarrassing how often I come by late night, but I'm a healthcare worker that gets off anywhere from 11pm--3am sometimes, and every time I've come by my food is hot, fresh, and HELLA GOOD! My go-to order is a guacamole bacon burger, loaded bacon guacamole fries, and jalapeño poppers. Shout-out to Edgar for putting the fast in fast-food, always being polite, and getting my order correct, no matter how many cars there are in line. I started going here when I met my wife. Whenever we would be driving to Evergreen Valley College for morning classes back in 2014, we would always stop by to grab a quick breakfast since it was on the way. Every now and then we would sneak out of the house when everyone is asleep to grab a burger and watch Netflix or Hulu on the phone as we eat in their parking lot. They haven't let us down yet, well nothing memorable. Maybe missing fries here and there but the food is always good. Great customer service as well, never had a BAD experience. The roommate eats dinner late in SJ because he works at a restaurant. Since I was running around all day on Friday, September 25th, we grabbed dinner together. It was around 10pm and we used the drive through. I believe it's open 24 hours. I got a Famous star with cheese, Crisscut fries and a Diet coke. I rarely eat fast food on my own, so being in SJ typically means a late night food run when eating with the roommate. There aren't many Carl's Jr's by my place in SF, so this was a treat. I ate my whole burger sans bun. Realized I probably should have gotten it protein style or low carb or whatever they call it here, but it was a decent burger. Meatier than the burgers at other fast food joints. The drive through was pretty packed, but it went by quickly. Probably about 8 mins from the time we got in line until we got our food. This is my favorite Carl's Jr. I see a lot of mixed reviews but I've always had good service and fresh food at this location. The Western Bacon Cheeseburger is my usual sandwich. The chicken stars area fried fresh here and are usually steaming hot when I get them. The line can get pretty long during the dinner rush but it's does move pretty fast. If had to get fastfood, I'd go here over the two mcdonalds and wendys nearby. In N Out is about 2 miles away but Carl's location is more convenient... He flips around shaking his head at me. I said excuse me sir why are you sbaking your head at me? Please go look at your menu and you will see the coffee shake, theres also a picture of a coffee shake, a mocha shake and a cold brew in the drive thru menu board. He refused. I tried pulling up their menu on my phone to show him but had sketchy reception and page wouldn't display. I said forget it just give me a coke. I will call the manager tomorrow to file a complaints I am so tired of people not doing their job and want to blame the customer when they are at fault. Cold fries, sloppily made burger and sketchy dark lot deserve 2 stars. Decided to grab a burger and fries via drive- thru on the way home from the East Bay to suppress my hunger. Ordered large fries and their Classic Cheeseburger- it's name I've entirely forgotten because it was lacking. Got the food way too quickly, but checked my bag and hey- no missing food so I headed home. Now, if you're any bit human or not OCD about cleanliness in your car you already know the first thing you do when there's a bag of fries in your car is to eat them whilst driving. To my surprise as I popped a few in my mouth, it was lukewarm and tasted stale. No crunch, crisp or warm ... gross. The burger was sloppily made, buns thrown on this so called burger with half a pickle and random slices of lettuce. Took a couple bites and gave up. It's a fast food restaurant. Big deal. :) I've only ordered food to go in the middle of the night by drive-thru, and it's usually just an order of chili cheese fries. I mean i can really rate them on it, It's quick, as there's usually no lines at night. (1am) I've always ordered a shake, when they had the orange shake :) delicious, but right now it's the oreo shakes, and it's also hand-scooped ice cream going in the milkshake. I usually don't order a meal for myself, but I would order a meal for Andrew, he seems to like his star cut nuggets and fries just fine. The size of a small fries is like the amount you would get as a medium fries order at McD. No lie, when Andrew had an order of small fries I thought it was too much for a little kid. I have had their chocolate chip cookies :) It's soft, I don't know if it's fresh or pre-made, it's still pretty yummie. Playground for the children has mats everywhere, it's safe, although with multiple children running around, someone is bound to get hurt. It's nice to still have a playground around for children to play, most fast food chains got rid of theirs. But the punching bags in their was kinda funny to me, because some of the kids looks smaller than the bags itself. read more

I used to go to this place regularly as I lived close by. I was in the area and hungry, so I decided to stoop in for a Jalapeño burger, onion rings, and a shake. Got the food and headed to lake Cunningham to eat it. Took a bite of the burger and put it back in the box, it just tasted wrong, like it had been cooke in months old fat. The onion rings were stale and hard, but tasted OK so I ate them (I was hungry!) and the shake was passable. But the service I received last Thursday night (Oct 11th) was so terrible that it mandates a negative review. After my daughter's high school sporting event, I went to this local Carls Jr in order to get items for the family rather than eating a home-cooked meal around 9:30 - 10:00pm. I went through the drive thru, ordered, paid, got my bags & drinks, and headed home. Then I find out that I'm minus 2 bags of fries and the green burrito taco salad I order without meat for our house vegetarian (my daughter) contained meat. Now it's getting late, and the Carls Jr in question is over 2 1/2 miles back. So I'm not in the mood to drive back for a correction to a salad and a couple side dishes. But my wife insists the best thing to do is call a manager to sing a little of the complaint chorus. I'm thinking this is a conversation that will end with a representative of that location saying a sincere apology for the inconvenience, and the whole thing is over. Not so. Some smart ass answers the phone and just sets it down on the counter - going on with business-as-usual and joking with co-workers about jerking-around an unhappy customer on the phone. Now, I'm pissed, and 2 1/2 miles suddenly isn't too far. I drive back over, get the night manager in a death-stare that screams "don't even think about asking to see my receipt to verify my claim," and proceed to tell her exactly what she's going to do to make this little visit straight. She makes all the food I was missing "fresh" and offers me the obligatory free drink - which I flatly refuse. I want her to see plainly that this horrible customer service is a real pisser, and somehow calls to the corporate 800 number always fall on def ears. Better to take this message directly to the source. To sum-up, the vegetarian got her proper dinner, and we ate a couple bags of fries. I'm not going to kid myself into thinking I'll never be back to this location. It's just too convenient at times. This place has gone to crap. I used to run down here from work when I would really get a lot of work done. I'd reward myself with a cheeseburger (welcome to being in my 30's). Here's the problem, getting them to give me a cheeseburger. I went in there on my brief 30 minute lunch, stood in an empty line area for 10 minutes and watched employees talk and enjoy themselves. It was until I was walking out the door a woman noticed I was there and began to ask if I wanted anything. I had burned up too much of my lunch to stay. The place came under new management, and since then I will drive over 3x the distance to get my lunch rather than attempt to get lunch here again.
