I just left this Carl's Jr. here on Thompson Boulevard here in Ventura. It was kind of a weird scenario where I had mobile ordered my food a few minutes prior to arriving. Chances are the food wasn't ready. So when I get inside, I was standing by the counter but my presence was never acknowledged. It must have been a shift change because one of the girls was counting the money from the register and then everyone looked really busy. I didn't want to be the rude person to interrupt them, but after a while when one of the girls looked somewhat free I had to proactively ask about the status of my order and acknowledge that I might be early. Turns out that it was there ready and waiting there. Oh well, what a weird situation. The store is actually really neatly decorated. They just built this place up from the ground up within the last year and I'm glad to see the inside now that it is operating. It's got a modern look inside with the concrete feel to it, but they did a great job. I'm assuming this is more of a one off but hopefully my next visit is a little bit better instead of being ignored by the 3 people working the front. read more

It looks very modernized and the staff are pretty friendly. I would recommend it here. Usual Prices now are fairly high, so look for the coupon flyers that are usually sent out. Grandkids wanted Carl's Jr. Took them for a quick lunch which was cold, soggy and sloppy. Looks like the "cooks" literally threw the burgers together. Counter help is rude and seems they hate their life. Restaurant is disgusting inside with vagrants hanging out. I've been to this carls a few times without any issues. I don't know what the issue is today though. Ordering food was a struggle, asked for ranch and ketchup for 2 combos and received one packet of ketchup and one packet of ranch. Great service, went in there with a friend and had a great experience. The staff was extremely friendly super nice I didn't get their names but I was there in 11/10/23 at 9:40 pm, it was a women and a young man! Lazy, uncaring staff at this location in Ventura on Thompson Blvd. I ordered at the drive through, and when an item was missing, I went inside to let them know and get my item. While I was waiting for them to make it, an older gentleman, who already had his food, came to the counter and asked for some pepper. One of the two young 20ish ladies working seemed annoyed with the request and gave him what looked like 3 packets of those small paper packets of pepper. Again he said, is there more? I really love pepper. She said no, we don't have any more pepper. He asked again, very nicely, do you perhaps have any in back, when the 2nd young lady rudely snapped at him that no, they are all out of pepper. Neither bothered to look in back, and it seems highly unlikely that a restaurant chain would be out of pepper. These fast food workers $20/hour now... for that kind of money, there's no excuse for being lazy. We came here because the AWFUL Carl's Jr. on Victoria wouldn't honor the advertised special on the website. Well worth the drive across town. Restaurant was clean; restrooms were clean. Carl's Jr. is my favorite fast food restaurant. This location can be super busy when VHS has their lunch break. I like the Chicken Club Sandwich and a Large Brewed Iced tea. I give it three for service but they ruined the chicken bacon Swiss sandwich the patty used to fill the whole piece of bun now it's like a chicken finger you would need two or three to fill it in. This happened right after they reopened must be trying to save money it's really sad because it was a bomb sandwich. I ordered it two times after the reopen and half was pure bites of bread. Love the new building and new generation eating spaces, but 1 cook when your drive thru and inside is pretty busy NO poor guy was keeping up but drive thru got priority and us inside were left waiting for over 20 min and there was someone waiting before us and we left before him. You spend all your money on the superficial stuff but you forgot the building isn't making you the money your customer and employees are. Also upon exiting towards the drive thru exit we were almost ran over by a car leaving the drive thru. There are no signs handicap or crosswalk markings on the asphalt. I promised myself I wouldn't return here 4 years ago after they left me waiting in the parking lot for 15 minutes for a breakfast sandwich. I had to get to work so I walked in. They were not hostile, but overly skeptical even though I had a receipt. Today, 4 years later I decided to grab Carl's on the way home. I'd been there recently and it was fine. I'm not that into fast-food but my mom and brother wanted Western Bacon Cheeseburgers. I got home was missing my sandwich. I called the location 5 times with no answer. I called corporate complaint and no answer. After everyone ate I drove back to ask for my sandwich. They treated me like someone trying to scam them. I told them that I'll just buy a burger. Eventually they gave me a burger. No sorry. I know they work hard but I get 1 day off. I don't want to spend it at Carl's. Just look at their Yelp rating. I've had a wrong order twice in a row now at this location. Currently they are training a new staff so be sure and check your orders. To make things more fun they also have run out of receipt paper. I was able to call them but the number they have on Yelp is incorrect. The correct number is +1 (805) 641-0401 When I reached them, after calling twice, the manager did take care of the problem. I am grateful she did so but be wary when you go through the the drive thru, especially their salads. If you order a salad make sure it's right. They got the taco salad mixed up with another one. Would not recommend this place to anyone, even if this was the last place open during Armegeddon! The food tastes like cardboard, which means completely flavorless and looks old. For special orders like the French Fries that come with bacon, sour cream and all that jazz- DONT order it, the order DOES NOT look like the picture and will be missing certain toppings. Last time I drove through (and the last time) after waiting in a 25 minute line of two cars I finally got to the front and the guy working the window guy was talking to his friends with his back to me holding my drink hostage while he finished his conversation with his friends. I just left there from the drive-through and was attended by Yanelly (I believe is how you spell her name) she was very rude when we asked questions. There was a sign up saying that there was a sourdough sandwich and yet it was not available until the next day. When I asked her about it she shrugged and said I don't know and turned away. When we continued to ask questions about prices about other food items such as fries, she also just shrugged and very rudely said let me check and when she gave us the price number her attitude was not pleasant. The only reason I'm giving a second star is because another worker there, which I forgot to ask his name, politely apologized for her. He said that it was time for her break which might've been the reason she was not acting nice and took the blame for her. Either way that is no excuse to act so rude to a customer. We asked him to talk to the manager and he told us that she was also busy which does not seem right because everyone there should be serving a customer whether they like it or not. Today's date is August 3 the time I went there was around 6:30-40pm. There's only so much one can say about a Fast Food Restaurant. Back in the day this was one of the nicer fast food places to go in Midtown Ventura, but over the years due to the rise of vagrancy and the lack of upkeep, this location can appear to be a little seedy. All that being said, its a midtown staple and it's an easy go to, for those early morning coffee runs, or late night cravings for a Western Bacon Cheeseburger. Don't expect the food to be piping hot (unless it's Coffee) as this location has the reputation of serving up tepid... and nothing tastes worse than tepid or cold french fries. I prefer the location on Johnson Drive to this one. But again, when you are in need of fast food Carl's fix in midtown and don't want to drive To the East end, you either take your chances or forgo the famous star. read more

Ok, so I stopped here for a quick bite for work lunch. I have been seeing commercials for their new guacamole double cheeseburger, so I decided to try it. First impression, super small and hardly any guacamole. It is only $2.99, so I guess I should of known it was smaller than their regular sized burgers. Took a bite, and it was actually very tasty and good. Didn't look like it, but full of flavor and had that home style char to it. I really enjoyed it, even though it left me hungry. I also paired this cheeseburger with onion rings. They packed my little box full of onion rings this time, as opposed to the last few times where they only put in like 3-4 big rings. I combined with their buttermilk ranch and it ended up being a very tasty, affordable, quick lunch. I was surprised. Dining room was super clean and the workers were very polite. $1 fee for using my debit card with no notification on any sign or on the card terminal. This ex-customer won't spend another dime at Carl's Jr. or Green Burrito regardless of whether I have cash or card. Jacking your customers is a real bad thing to do even if you think they're suckers who're all gaga over the supermodels in your commercials. Really bad move CKE. Someone should drive up to Carpinteria and tell them to get their heads out of there rear-ends. The guy said, "That'll be $8.15." So I ran my card, selected debit, put in my PIN and the total said $9.15. I had to ask if the extra buck was for using my debit card and he told me yes. I accepted the fee in order to keep the mob behind me from getting PO'd. I understand card convenience fees are called-for in many companies as a way to keep prices down for cash paying customers. However, Carl's Jr. is one of the most expensive fast food joints out there and I don't believe the quality is that much better than most of the others, so fees shouldn't be assessed, or at least a minimal fee should be charged. A $1 fee is not reasonable on an $8.15 meal (12.22%) when I even use my debit card and PIN number. read more
