I had stopped in to fix Wendy's location when I was looking for a late dinner. I've driven by here many many times whenever I'm in town and this is my go to Wendy's in Ventura. I've always been a fan of the salads here. And it's probably one of the best fast food salads out there hands-down. Sometimes there's different variations but overalls all the same ingredients maybe other than a few ingredients and sometimes a salad dressings are a little bit different but overall the tons be very fresh and it's never wilted like you would get from other places. The drive-through tends to be very popular here but it is also a possible reason it's stuck in here since the flow of traffic isn't necessarily the best. Download the app and make sure you're able to take advantage of some of the different promotions that they may be running here. And I am a big fan of the mobile orders so you don't have to wait in line. read more

I like Wendys burgers. Maybe unpopular opinion but they are better than in n out. Well this location is scam central. I will buy a regular combo and they use all kinds of tricks to get it to large. They will pretend they didn't hear you and then say it back making it large. It happens every time. So it's not a fluke. It's a super shady ass policy. Got a Dave's double combo today. And said double about 3 times. They pulled the large scam on me and I clearly specified NO NOT LARGE. REGULAR. So what did they do? They gave me a triple burger and charged me for it! Scammers! Well i ordered the $5 biggie bag Jr bacon cheeseberger but must of cost xtra dollar for tiny cube of unmelted cheese than another xtra dollar for a small piece of bacon so it cost $7 plus tax. In the day we sweat it out on the streets Of a runaway American dream... OK, I'm peculiar, I admit it. I don't like the food at Wendy's. You couldn't pay me enough to eat a Wendy's hamburger. Nevertheless, I am a huge fan of their Frosty. I never eat them as they serve them, though. I prefer to take them home and freeze them until they're solid. I like to keep a few in the freezer for when I want a little treat after dinner, or when I want to cool off on a hot day. But living in Ventura, we very rarely have hot days. Temperatures here typically range from 46 to 76 degrees F. Only rarely does the temperature here go below 39 or above 82. This last week, however, was insanely hot. Over 100 degrees. Like for a whole damn week. I looked in the freezer for a Frosty and, dammit, there were none to be found. I told myself, as soon as it cools off, I'm gonna stock up on some Frosty. (interesting side note, according to Wendy's twitter account, the plural of Frosty is Frosty, like the plural of deer is deer) About a month ago I saw a commercial on TV that said Wendy's was introducing the Strawberry Frosty. Wow, I thought, I gotta try one of those! So today, it was finally cool enough to go out and do stuff. I headed directly to Wendy's to score a Strawberry Frosty. Only to find out the Strawberry flavor Frosty was a temporary menu item, and it was discontinued a couple days ago. How disappointing! I sure hope they bring it back sometime in the future. I figure they probably will, it seems like nearly all the fast food chains follow that pattern these days (e.g., McRibs at McD's, Fiesta Potatoes [& Mexican Pizza] at Taco Bell). I was just about to order a few Kid's Size Frosty. I didn't see them on the menu, so I asked how much the cost. The sweet employee on the drive thru intercom told me they were a dollar something each, but they had a special deal right now. If you buy a "Boo Book," you get five Junior Frosty for $1 I had never heard of a Boo Book. Sounded like a scam to me. OK, I asked, how much does it cost to buy a Boo Book so I can get the discount. The nice woman said a dollar. She explained the book had 5 coupons, each good for a Jr size Frosty. Five Frosty for a buck? Wow, what a deal! That's what I said to the friendly voice on the intercom, What a deal! Yeah, I'll take one of those Boo Books. She asked me how many Frosty I wanted, I told her four. When I pulled forward to pay I was grinning from ear to ear. And then, you aren't going to believe this, the deal got even better. Get this: the Boo Book costs a dollar, flat. As in no tax added. Wow, wow, wow! I love this deal. I have to admit, just for a second I thought about our Governor, Gavin Newsom. I felt bad about the Big Guy not getting his cut. Gavin gotta eat, too, you know? I briefly considered the financial impact on the state of me for once in my life making a purchase without paying tax. Then I told the cute cashier at the window, give me TWO of those Boo Books! This newer version of the regular and spicy chicken sandwich at Wendy's is an abomination. For most of my adult life the tender whole breast fillet on the regular (or spicy) chicken sandwich overlapped the bun in size and was always perfectly breaded like fried chicken. The best version of a fast food chicken sandwich was Wendys (in my opinion). The new chicken fillet is a glorified processed square chicken nugget-esque patty (in flavor and breading texture). It doesn't even match up with the photo on the menus (still showing the original chicken filet). yuck. One of the biggest fast food downsizing and downgrading disappoints in my memory. Won't be coming again, they forgot two things from my order the first time around, I asked for the food that was missing, got called "una pinche gorda" after they messed up my order. Then the possible manager on duty yelled at the woman who was working on the fryer for not working fast enough, then proceeded to throw my food inside my car which ripped the bag and spilled all over me. I wouldn't suggest eating inside this restaurant alone. I have had no problems in the drive thru however inside the restaurant is another story. The parking lot is dark. I am not impressed with Kailey the manager. On 12/12/2019 at 5:30pm I walked into the restaurant to find a woman sleeping in one of the booths. On the table was a ton of trash with coffee cups from another location. I found this strange but went to order my food. I stood at the register for a few minutes and was finally greeted then ordered my food. As I was waiting I watched and heard one of the employees training a new employee while she made somewhat degrading comments and spoke ill of the district manager. The restaurant also had a portion of the lights either turned off or out. I'm not sure which, but I ate in the dark. At 7:30pm I went through the drive thru and the same trash was still located in the same booth as at 5:30pm and the woman was no longer there. I reported this incident later that evening because my 5:30pm visit left me feeling uneasy and as a manager I would want to know these situations if I wasn't present. On 12/13/19 I received an email from Kailey: Hello, I am reaching out to you via email from the feedback we received this morning from yesterday's visit. I would like to know more information. Time of visit, who the manager was, and what the homeless person looked like. Feel free to call me back at 805-648-7325 ( the restaurant number). Thank you, Kailey I returned a call on 12/13/19 and followed up with Kailey. I asked to speak with the district manager and she questioned my story and said she was there the evening prior and didn't see any of this happening. I reminded her there were cameras in the restaurant and she was free to verify my word. I wasn't impressed with the way she spoke to me but she emailed me saying she would forward my contact information to the dm and he would be calling me. I've always liked this Wendy's, the food is usually good but not this time. We ordered a single burger, a fish sandwich, and 2 orders of chicken nuggets, everything arrived overcooked and sloppily thrown together. Due to health issues, we've had to order delivery, normally the food arrives hot and yummy. The food was not only overcooked but also cold, and the sandwiches looked like they had been tossed together and then sat on, they tasted even worse. The nuggets were overcooked as well and cold but, since they were for the dogs, they didn't care. Since the order was delivered and it takes days to refund the money (and delivery is expensive), we had to settle for pb&j. I'm so disappointed in the lack of quality and customer service this Wendy's has fallen to. The burger and fish are $5 each so $10 for inedible food, get it right. It'll be awhile before I go back And, is it just me or have Wendy's burgers shrank? They seem quite a bit smaller to me. read more

After watching the Wendy's commercial for the new GIANT double bacon cheeseburger, I decided to download the Wendy's app and give it a try today for lunch. We regularly visit Wendy's and love the 4 for $4 deal.... I Proceeded to order the New $5 Giant Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger Meal.. After ordering and opening my meal I was disappointed to a regular jr Bacon Cheeseburger..I walked back inside the store, Where i proceeded to talk to the manger and show her my tiny burger in hand. She looked and my burger and then looked at me and said, "I don't see Nothing is wrong with that burger".. I said this it giant?? She said that is the new giant burger... They were unprepared for the day. I arrived at 10:05am. Door on one side was locked. Had to walk to other side to get in. No big deal except it made me unsure if they were open while walking. I had to ask if they were still serving breakfast. They were but the breakfast menu was not showing. I had to ask them if there was a menu. They put the breakfast menu up. They aren't exactly unfriendly but.....they sure don't show friendliness. I'm thinking about not coming to this location anymore. I had trouble figuring out how to rate this location. I've never had any issues with the food or the accuracy of my orders, and I'm in there once or twice a week. The problem is always the staff, for starters. They all pretty much seem miserable for the most part. Maybe that's the management at this location though, which brings me to my next issue. I've had two problems there: The first was when I began using the Wendy's app and the employee wouldn't allow me to do so. I complained about that through the app's customer service chat and was told I would be contacted by that restaurant's management team. I never was. Interestingly, I've never had any issues using the app there since. My most recent problem was when ordering, I was charged two dollars more than the price on the menu. When I asked why, I was told by the cashier, "That's the price my screen says." I was hungry, so I paid, left and ate. I again contacted customer service, and was again told I would be contacted by management. Guess what? Never was. I'm frequenting the other Ventura location from now on as it's probably more convenient for me during my drive home anyway. read more

I have loved Wendy's hamburgers for over 4 decades. Usually we use the drive thru at the Thompson Rd location and we've noticed food quality going down hill. A week ago we dined inside and now we know why. The place is in horrible condition. The entire restaurant is dirty and in dire need of a remodel. I suspect this location is a franchise as a company store would not be allowed to look this bad. When a restaurant is obviously dirty and broken down you can bet the food safety is in doubt. I will alert the health department and will not return until the place has been remodeled. I came in today on My lunch break and to begin my story. They had me wait 5 min after they took there last order. Nobody else was in the drive thu but me and every one got served before they took my order.finally they decided to talk , I ordered a chicken club and when I get to work getting ready to enjoy my lunch, I didn't get what I ordered. Just left from there after getting too cold orders, the first one had cold fries and a cold sandwich when I returned I received hot fries and another cold sandwich.
