We ordered the Tri tip and lamb pork chops and it was very delicious. The salad was fresh and tasty. Excellent customer service and clean.

Amazing Mediterranean food. Looks like a small hole in the wall, but quite large. Order at the counter and be seated. Ladies working at the counter were super sweet. Will definitely be back!

It's all Greek to me..and that's a good thing. I never made it here after Chuys closed. We wanted something late for lunch and this was the perfect place to come. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very good assortment of Greek food and a nice look inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You order at the counter they give you a number and then you get ongoing service even after your meal is dropped off. Dee came to our table several times asking if we needed anything and even bringing us some extra tzatziki. Later, she came by and apologized for not coming sooner to clear my plate. Incredible customer service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was clean and the lamb gyro, salad and rice plate was on point.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Really good. If you haven't been here, you definitely need to stop by at some point.

I came in for lunch on my way back from LA and it never disappoints here. The Greek salad with gyro -- which I totally took a chance on -- was absolutely incredible. Best gyro I've ever had. Did I say ever? I did. I did... Husband had the classic gyro plate with amazing fries and salads.

It's been a while since I last reviewed this place but my feelings remain the same - best lamb burger ever! Everything pairs so well together and the lamb is not gamey tasting. It is such a filling meal and so tasty. I am so tempted to try other entrees on the menu that also sound amazing, such as the poached salmon or pastichio, but I always find myself getting this juicy lamb burger. The side of tzatziki that came with the lamb burger was also super fresh and the fries were perfect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Friendly staff and a lovely front dining room, though I have only dined in on one occasion.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a separate room with a lot of baked goodies as well as pantry items on display for purchase.

A Greek client recommended this spot in Ventura, and I'm glad I took their advice! The fries seem to be a crowd favorite, so I paired them with a lamb gyro (pronounced yee-roh). The lamb gyro definitely lives up to the hype -- it was flavorful and tender, with none of the gamey taste you might expect. If you're deciding what to order, I suggest going with the lamb. In addition to the food, there's a small market featuring Greek goods, as well as a bakery section with delicious pastries and sweets. As for parking, it's plentiful, so no worries there. One thing to note is that the prices can be a bit on the higher side for a casual, order-at-the-register type of spot. A chicken or lamb gyro will cost about $15 which is reasonable these days.

Went here for lunch. The place is massive, you can't appreciate how big it is from the outside. The place is clean and the employees are extremely friendly. I had a chicken gyro with fries and salad - the portion size is MASSIVE. Everything was very good - the fries, the salad, the gyro. My only small complaint was that there was too much sauce on the gyro. I would recommend having it on the side. Also, a little bit of heat would have added to the flavor - maybe have some hot sauce available. I would highly recommend this place!

Sooo disappointed. I hyped this restaurant up to my boyfriend and was excited to have him try one of my favorite gyros. We just got the oldest, crusty food you can imagine and now he doesn't trust my judgement in food. Haha. We ordered several lamb gyros, with fries, and salads to go. We didn't see the food until we got home. Unfortunately, we were not free to go return it. The pita that is typically super soft and fluffy was stale, kind of broke a bit from being folded. The meat was greasy enough to make the cardboard container transparent, soaking my fingers in grease from holding the bottom of the container. The fries were room temperature, if that. Also greasy, but the consistency of almost raw potato. The fries were for sure left over from lunch time. The least they could've done was throw them in the microwave for a few seconds to give the illusion thay they were cooked within the last few hours. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm wondering if the emptiness of the restaurant is due to the decline in quality.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We could've saved a lot of money by getting fast food and it would've been better quality.

While visiting a nearby chocolate shop, Dear Hubby and I first learned about Stephens Market & Grill. We will definitely need to come back when we are in the mood for Greek / Mediterranean food. We did pick up some of their mixed olives, which made for a yummy snack. While checking out the interior, I was intrigued by the various dining spaces, the imported Greek treats from biscuits/cookies, to all manner of gourmet specialty foods, wines, gift items, and so much more. Murals grace the walls in all the public rooms, including the very large open dining room. When weather cooperates, they also have a good-sized outdoor patio, too. Free parking is available out back, and you can enter that way. We had initially walked in off Main Street, and passed through the restaurant on the way to the parking lot. The main food to-go section and cold cases are to the front / Main Street side. Two of the women at the main counter were gracious in answering our questions about the menu. We were made to feel welcome, even though we only made a small purchase and weren't staying for a meal. All these factors made it a place that I've bookmarked for a future visit to spend more time.

Amazing lamb and dolmas! Stopped by on our way home for a trip and was not disappointed by the quality and delicious taste of the food here. Portion sizes are great and staff is friendly. I would love to come back. The market had some essentials and wines great for souvenirs too.

My biggest issue is the wait time and the overall organization of getting orders out. Even when it doesn't seem very busy, it can still take a long time. I've even called ahead before and still ended up waiting after arriving. I completely understand that a popular sandwich shop gets busy, but I do think the ordering and pickup system could be improved. Today was especially frustrating. I waited about 45-50 minutes for my order, only to find out my sandwiches had accidentally been given to an older gentleman who had only ordered pickles. He apparently heard me say my name and ended up taking my sandwiches. Mistakes happen, and I'm not mad at anyone personally, but after waiting that long, it was definitely disappointing. My main issue isn't even the mistake itself. It's the amount of time lost. Time is money, but more importantly, time is a resource we can never get back. I basically lost close to an hour because the pickup process wasn't organized enough to make sure the right order went to the right person. I'll absolutely be back because the food is that good. I just hope they can tighten up the system for taking orders and handing them out. Amazing sandwiches, but the delivery and pickup process definitely needs some work.

I had actually bookmarked Mastro's years ago and forgot all about it. This is a very no frills space located right on the corner - no inside seating but a couple round tables outside. Plenty of available street parking. There only appeared to be one woman working - she was a bit slow to greet me initially but had her back turned and I think may not have noticed I was there. She was happy to answer my questions and accommodating when making my sandwich. I opted for the italian sub but didn't want something very bread heavy so got the rye bread instead. While the rye bread was tasty, it was just Orowheat, which was disappointing to see all the breads were just sandwich bread you'd get in the store rather than home made or made by someone local. The sandwich itself had cheddar, provolone, bologna, salami, and capitola ham - all of which was very fresh. However, the amount of meat/cheese felt a bit minimal, especially when looking back at previous photos. For the very reasonable price though, l understand why maybe they cut down the amount of meat/cheese vs raise prices. Maybe add an option for double meat/cheese for an extra fee? It comes traditionally with mayo, mustard, italian dressing, lettuce, tomato, onion, peppercini but I just got lettuce, mayo, and italian dressing. Avocado was an optional add on for a reasonable $1 but because I had avocado at home I just added it at home. The sandwich itself was very tasty and enjoyable - I wish though instead of mayo and italian dressing they had used olive oil, vinegar, and oregano, which is more traditional and healthier. They also had potato salad and macaroni salad for only $2 - I got half and half and while they were both fine, nothing necessarily stood out about them. It was a nice little add on if you don't want chips. Speaking of chips, they had a very large selection of chips and bottle drinks. This wouldn't necessarily be my first stop if I am feeling very hungry, given that the sandwich felt pretty small (although I imagine on the sub roll it wouldve been a lot more filling). However, I will definitely be back if I am craving an inexpensive deli sandwich - it is hard to find lunch anywhere for under $10 and I appreciate that they keep the prices affordable. Seeing as they have been around for what appears to be 10+ years, I imagine they know their demographic and cater to that.
