This place is AWESOME! Let me tell you why, there are soo many I'm going to list them in no specific order: 1. Under new family management. The new management team has put much hard work into upgrading the facility. Jenny and John have listened to what customers have suggested and then they delivered! 2. The ball dispensing machines have new card readers that are a big improvement. They are faster and easier to use. 3. New range balls - so nice! 4. Mats - these are the best that I have ever used! Soft but firm, not like the old hard mats that felt like you were hitting off concrete and damaging your clubs. 5. Island Greens - so nice! These targets are priceless and make the range attractive. 6. Two putting greens - 1 is synthetic - take your pick. 7. A sand bunker practice area with real sand, not dirt! 8. Lighted at night to accommodate anyone's schedule. 9. A Golf Mart is on the premises, how convenient. You can demo clubs on a real range and not a simulator. Plus great customer service! 10. Golf Instruction - Awesome! Take your pick, many options to choose from. In closing, the Carlsbad Golf Center is AWESOME! I like this range quiet a lot beside the guy sometimes will yell at you if you step on the grass for a bit to grab your ball that is less than a foot away from you. Other than that, balls are pretty good condition, they added more pins that are less than 80 yards so you can practice your wedge games. It's a spot to hang and hit balls . read more

This place is just easy and fun, whether you're working on your swing or just hitting a bucket of balls for stress relief. You can even bring your dog, which is adorable. If you've never tried out CGC, it's one of the best in North County. Ample slots, lighted for night time use, a full golf center and available instruction. Practice putting and pitching, hitting out of the bunker along with three large greens on the range for 60 - 80 yard pitching. It's all there. read more

What's bad: The appearance of it. Dried grass and dirt, or in the case of post-rain storm, mud. And some of the employees' customer service. They are all golfers first, customer service agents second. What's good: Everything else. Love that they have a Golf Center on site where with an exchange of car keys or credit card, you can hit a huge range of demo clubs. The hitting mats are in decent shape and they have by far the cheapest range balls I THINK in all of San Diego. That's the best thing they have going. read more

This is really just a review of the shop, not the range itself. Everytime I come here the workers in the shop have the most pretentious attitude. Like they don't wanna be at work. Either it's that or they think they are at some luxurious place where they can have an attitude. KID FRIENDLY family friendly driving range! We decided to take our kids to this driving range and they had the most perfect little grass patch set up in the back and right across it was the "adults" area. They even had kid putters available! We were able to hit the balls while keeping an eye on our kid! I do wish they had it a little enclosed or a little wall to stop the balls from rolling into the sidewalks or the adults area. It definitely enticed the little ones to be on the adults side vs just staying in their area. Overall though it was such a great quick place to go for a family outing or even by yourself or with a group. There's a decent amount of spaces but get filled up. We went in the middle of the week at 4pm and it was nearly packed! Bathrooms are very dirty so I'd keep that in mind before coming here! The golf center offers food, classes, fitting, purchasing sets and more! Definitely worth checking out. Staff was also very friendly! read more

I'm new to golf and always drive by this spot. I always thought it would be fun to stop and hit some balls but I didn't have any clubs. Fast forward to yesterday and I have taken 5 lessons and played a few holes on executive courses. I'm not great but I'm better than when I started. We pulled in near the golf mart store and parked. It always looks packed from the freeway but parking wasn't an issue. We walked past the building and looked over the choices for getting buckets of balls. We didn't sign up for a membership this trip but likely willing to the future for the discount it gives and to participate in happy hour. We chose 105 balls for $14.00 used a credit card and were on our way. Then we picked two stalls next to each other and proceeded to hit all of those balls. It was a beautiful warm sunny day and even though they were pretty crowded people were constantly coming and going so no one had to wait for a stall. I can't hit very far yet so the hill that people complain about in other reviews did not affect me. I went through my balls faster so I saved a few and went to the putting green. I need all the practice I can get and one of the putting holes is uphill so I spent some time there. Then I tried the others, I definitely need more practice. If you need help there are staff around but I like not having to interact if I don't need to. I would love to come back and try the night (with my bug spray per reviews and flies in my car when we left) sessions. read more

Carlsbad golf center is one of the best ranges in North county. Reasonable prices and lots of stalls, lights and open til 9pm during summer. Only thing I will mention is they do have event nights (which are awesome with food trucks and drinks), but be sure to check as it does get busy and if all you want to do is hit balls it's good to show up earlier/later than the event. Review to for the shop. Popped in to hit a few balls but checked out the shop first. Wanted to enquire about getting a putter grip blown off and shortened. Dan was the guy that helped. Solid customer service. Warm, friendly and super helpful. He passed my putter to another guy to do the work (which i was told might be able to happen due to the grips time being stuck). 30 mins later I roll back about 5:57 to grab my putter which hadn't been regrouped yet. Could have quite easily of been "we're closing" with how close I was to 6pm. It was no problem for Dan. Got me squared away with solid advice and a new grip to go fix these Y***S Will return. read more

We started taking golf lessons, and I'm now obsessed with getting my golf swing right. Carlsbad Golf Center is easy to get to and has plenty of bays for you to practice your swing. Even when half the area was rained out and closed, we had a minimal wait for a bay to open up. Getting a prepaid range card is the best deal, coupled with happy hours (they change monthly, check their website). Just drive up, grab balls at the machine, and head to an open bay. If it's your first time, they have a guy in a booth to help you too. He was super nice and explained everything thoroughly. read more

No frills, get-down-to-business driving range. I come here regularly because it's relatively close and open the latest compared to other ranges in the surrounding area. There's free parking in their lot, two self-service ball machines, and range cards to get a better value on your buckets. I believe there's also happy hour for range card holders and beers available for purchase. I just wish they stayed open a little bit later than 9PM! Also, there's lots of bugs at night but nothing a little bug spray would solve. read more

I recently had an excellent customer service interaction with Cole at the driving range. After hitting a bucket my driver has a problem with a little plastic piece on the hosel that come unseeded. I was talking to Cole and mentioned my issue with driver, he took a look at it and recommended a quick fix. He heated up the hosel and tried to reseed the piece with no luck, so he cut a piece of black electrical tape and to the hosel and it worked perfectly. Cole's customer service was excellent and he is really friendly and willing to help an old duffer like me. Thanks Cole. read more

I wish I could give no stars for the old gray haired arrogant prick/range worker/manager and the way he talked to my wife and I this morning. He's super lucky it was not the "old school days" I would have knocked him out with one crushing punch to his arrogant face. My wife and I who have been living and golfing in North County and have raised our taught our kids how to golf here for over 40 years now just recently decided [even during these tough financial times] that golf being one our major activities nowadays that we needed to upgrade some of our older clubs. We had a wonderful experience inside the Golf Center store and the club fitting specialist Dan O'Connell was very very intelligent and helpful in guiding us into which clubs we should purchasing to improve our game. I even paid Dan $35 fitting fee and he took me out on the range and gave me some very important pointers which has improved my game. Recently a friend gave me about 500 golf balls that were all top of the line balls and in great shape. I threw some in a pillow case and headed down to Carlsbad Golf Centers driving range to try out just my driver. My wife did not even bring her clubs, we were there to help me work on my driver. I took out a few balls and started hitting them and all of the sudden the gray haired range worker prick came up and said " Hey we are not open yet" even though it was 10am in the morning and the signed and golf center were open. When I looked online later it said they were supposed to be open at 8am. Then if that was not enough, he says "hey were did you get those golf balls?" I said they were mine, and he said " How we gonna make any money if you do not use our golf balls". I should have told him your agency made $1000 recently of income from us buying 3 golf clubs, and why? "Do you own this place buddy". He then said " we are closed to pick up your balls and get out of here!!! He is super lucky he was not picking himself up off of the ground after the way he just treated us. I will never return to hit balls in this mud hole ever again, being situated hitting into a hill you have no way of get a good visualization on your shots or shaping shots its a terrible mud hole layout. My wife says the range came up on about $60 dollars worth of nice golf balls I did hit out there before he so boldly destroyed our morning session. If you get a chance tell that gray haired prick to fuck off from me!!! read more
