Sweet/dry flight on the left. All dry on the right.

What a wonderful spot. Came here on a whim and did not regret it. Such a lovely place and they have three super sweet cats that hang around and come say hi to you. The wine was very good. I like that they have different flights to choose from like all dry wines, all sweet or a mixture of both.

This was another stop on our fun wine-tasting day in Palisade. We were chatting with some folks at another vineyard who had just been here, and they insisted we give it a try! It was definitely very worth it. They had a free tasting, which was nice since a lot of them are paid. I liked their gewurztraminer, and even that they had it! They had a dry version and a sweeter one, and I very much enjoyed the dryer one. They also had some fruit wines, which I'm not usually a fan of, but they were making a hot wine with their peach wine that, true to what they advertised, tasted just like peach cobbler. So we left with the bottle and the recipe! Another note - they do have cats, which was just another reason for me to love this place! And, this seems really silly, but their bathroom was really cute, with comics and printouts hung up around the place.

I can not say enough good things about this winery! The staff are so friendly, the patio is amazing! The wine flight glasses are so cute as well and a flight of 5 tasters is only $10! Let alone the wine was so tasty! We bought a bottle of the Gewürztraminer to bring home but honestly liked all the ones I tasted! The 365 rose and 365 red being two other favorites! Make this a stop in any palisade trip!

    I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. Hands down, one of my favorite wineries we visited this past weekend. WHY? STAR #1 = The staff is incredible. Literally. All nine of us were able to sample the various fruity and dry wines together, with two different staff members! Both ladies were extremely animated, full of information and gave excellent suggestions! STAR #2 = The wine itself! YUM! I found myself obsessing over the Rose' and the peach wine! Normally I find myself more of a dry white/red fan, but the fruity wines had me at hello! I opted to take home a few bottles of wine for myself! The wines had the most unique names too! Many liquor stores throughout the state have Carlson inventory in stock - check locally! STAR #3 = The tasting room looks as if it was right out of a story book. Country kitchen, meets gorgeous outdoor seating area! The lush trees, gorgeous view of the vineyard and cottage like feel, made me totally fall in love with this gem! STAR #4 = Kitty inspired! Many of the wine's were named after the family's animals - and the labels feature them as well! The tasting room even featured two family cats - Gunny (named after the Gunnison River) and Hank! Both were insanely friendly and created a comfortable space - making us right at home! STAR #5 = Unlimited samples! In fact, the staff said "you are all adults, i assume you know when to cut yourself off! We happily sampled all 15 wines - as sample sizes were small! mmmm! I loved this winery and can't wait to return!

This vineyard came recommended by others when tasting elsewhere. It has a very laid back vibe and those running the tastings are the people who make the wine and know all there is to know about it. It was nice to hear how it is made and where the fruit comes from (all local - like right around them!). I totally missed they had a seating area and I never saw one of their famous felines, that probably would have bumped it to 5 stars. Still it was a nice place and they had a lot of fruit wines to choose from. Oh, and the cat nip was a big hit at my house with my own (not so) famous felines

Disgusting wines. Very rude tasting room staff on the phone and in person. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.

The wines were tasty and the grounds were beautiful, but we didn't get a very welcoming vibe from the folks working.

Bookcliff, Vineyards…read more We found that there is a correlation between wine, lovers and dog lovers.. This is another dog friendly winery, although they will be opening up food in the tasting room, and it will cease to be available for dogs. They have a nice big gazebo outside for people to enjoy their wine. Viognier -- beautiful florals, citrus peaches notes on the nose, citrus, grapefruit. green apples, on the pallet, balanced, acidity, rich minerality with fruit. Muscat has the most beautiful nose a that can keep you smelling the aromas of lemons or for minutes before you even want to put any in your mouth. Again, nice acid and fruit balance picking up the beautiful minerality of the sedimentary rock in book cliff region. Beautiful fruit of green, apple, lemon, grapefruit. Only out sourced grape. Viognier died in 1991. So they outsource grapes to fill in the void of the white. Completely lost Cabernet Sauvignon. All the other grapes revived the next year. Albarino -- a lot different than the Albarino in Spain. So there is a little bit of seabreeze on the nose, not like in spain. . Beautiful, citrus lightly on the nose. Crisp fresh fruit , staff by nice asses on the pallet. Chardonnay-- beautiful dark, yellow color. A nice rounded citrus on the palate. Not a particularly big oak. Taste of the typical Oak because Jon put soak into teabags to give those kinds of nuances. The malolactic, fermentation, brings out a bit of butteriness. Again, high acidity balance by fruit Rosé made from cab Frank sits on the skins for an hour or two, providing a very light and orange color. Beautiful, effervescent, peachy aromas. Subtle peachy. beautiful black fruit Malbec Big lush blackberries on the palate do you know when older women have a lot to teach younger men while you're my age probably I was like older women when I was younger. I have a younger wife tell me when you get on the nose I'm gonna try the reserve. Malbec reserve, grapes, grow very close to the river, the aromas are mellow, and beautiful black fridge on the pallet. Velvety at a young age. The assets are pleasantly high because of the area of growth.Grown at hawk ridge a beautiful high minerality 2020 before the great loss of the Cabernet Sauvignon due to a winter freeze. Nice florals of roses and Cassis on the nose. $24 The ensemble This Bordeaux blend used to be a blend of Cabernet, Savignon, Merlot, Cab, Franc, and Malbec. It's beautifully emulated a Bordeaux blend. Since then they have removed the cab, Frank and it has lost that earthiness that made the blend so beautiful. It is still a lovely wine. It displays blackberries on the nose in the palate. Taste it not really I'm not picking that up. Not the chocolate I would have expected from a Merlot. It seems intentionally to be more of a New World wine that appeals to the American palate. 2022 Syrah 22.95 Just won the Governors cup as number one wine Colorado. They weren't supposed to open this, but John, the owner, said that it was good to open it for us. So Chris told me that I had to ask her to open it. Deep rich purple back. Beautiful blackberry and raspberry fruit and acids blended in such a way that they just permeate the palate twisting all around the tongue. Deeply rich. You have to try this wine. You will buy cases. We ended our tasting with a beautiful Muscato. Peaches and candied lemons on their nose. It's beautiful desert wind like the Muscato from Samos island in Greece. When you are done tasting all these wines, and you end with a Moscato, you've had the best experience of your life. Well, at least among the best.

3.5 stars. Great service, decent wine. Rosé was good, as was the sparkling rosé. Reds were ok, a…read morelittle light for the varietals, whites were good.
