We had a great visit to Bookcliff Vineyards! We each did a wine tasting--one red flight and one white flight. I'm not a fan of Chardonnay, and the staff was happy to substitute a rosé instead, which I really appreciated. The outdoor seating area is beautiful, with gorgeous mountain and vineyard views. We visited on a 95-degree day, so a few more umbrellas for shade would have made the experience even better. After our tastings, we each ordered a glass of our favorite wine and spent some time enjoying the scenery. There were quite a few flies outside, but that's to be expected at a vineyard during the summer and didn't take away from the experience. The wines were good, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the views were absolutely worth the visit. We'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're exploring Palisade wine country. read more

We stopped here while visiting some of the wineries in Palisades, CO and this one was our favorite! It has the best views on the outskirt of where all the wineries are putting it right next to a perfect view of the mesas. We got the white wine flight and wanted the charcuterie board but was bummed when they said they were out. A little while later the server came to our table and mentioned they had got some delivered while we were there and offered us one which was really nice. The wine flight was reasonably priced with unique flavors. Our favorite was the chardonnay. The only thing i wish you could do is mix the red and white wines for a tasting. It was odd you could only do a flight of red or white wines. The charcuterie board had the perfect amount of meat, cheese, nuts and fruit for a small snack. Although there could have been more crackers with it. Overall this winery has the best views out of them all! Would highly recommend stopping here if you are in town. read more

We did the east cruiser (yellow/5 mile) and west cruiser (green/7 mile) bike loops on the fruit & wine byway and got a flight at each winery along the way. BookCliff's cab franc stole the show for me -- best wine of the day! Loved the covered outdoor space to enjoy our wine and the beautiful scenery. The women helping us were also incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about all of the wines on the menu. read more

Members in BookCliff Boulder, so we are familiar with their wines and it's what brought us here. Palisade is an interesting place. You look around at the mountains and you think there is no way anything can grow out here. Somehow it produces amazing peaches, produce and evidently grapes. Because these guys do really nice wine. Bookcliff, Vineyards We found that there is a correlation between wine, lovers and dog lovers.. This is another dog friendly winery, although they will be opening up food in the tasting room, and it will cease to be available for dogs. They have a nice big gazebo outside for people to enjoy their wine. Viognier -- beautiful florals, citrus peaches notes on the nose, citrus, grapefruit. green apples, on the pallet, balanced, acidity, rich minerality with fruit. Muscat has the most beautiful nose a that can keep you smelling the aromas of lemons or for minutes before you even want to put any in your mouth. Again, nice acid and fruit balance picking up the beautiful minerality of the sedimentary rock in book cliff region. Beautiful fruit of green, apple, lemon, grapefruit. Only out sourced grape. Viognier died in 1991. So they outsource grapes to fill in the void of the white. Completely lost Cabernet Sauvignon. All the other grapes revived the next year. Albarino -- a lot different than the Albarino in Spain. So there is a little bit of seabreeze on the nose, not like in spain. . Beautiful, citrus lightly on the nose. Crisp fresh fruit , staff by nice asses on the pallet. Chardonnay-- beautiful dark, yellow color. A nice rounded citrus on the palate. Not a particularly big oak. Taste of the typical Oak because Jon put soak into teabags to give those kinds of nuances. The malolactic, fermentation, brings out a bit of butteriness. Again, high acidity balance by fruit Rosé made from cab Frank sits on the skins for an hour or two, providing a very light and orange color. Beautiful, effervescent, peachy aromas. Subtle peachy. beautiful black fruit Malbec Big lush blackberries on the palate do you know when older women have a lot to teach younger men while you're my age probably I was like older women when I was younger. I have a younger wife tell me when you get on the nose I'm gonna try the reserve. Malbec reserve, grapes, grow very close to the river, the aromas are mellow, and beautiful black fridge on the pallet. Velvety at a young age. The assets are pleasantly high because of the area of growth.Grown at hawk ridge a beautiful high minerality 2020 before the great loss of the Cabernet Sauvignon due to a winter freeze. Nice florals of roses and Cassis on the nose. $24 The ensemble This Bordeaux blend used to be a blend of Cabernet, Savignon, Merlot, Cab, Franc, and Malbec. It's beautifully emulated a Bordeaux blend. Since then they have removed the cab, Frank and it has lost that earthiness that made the blend so beautiful. It is still a lovely wine. It displays blackberries on the nose in the palate. Taste it not really I'm not picking that up. Not the chocolate I would have expected from a Merlot. It seems intentionally to be more of a New World wine that appeals to the American palate. 2022 Syrah 22.95 Just won the Governors cup as number one wine Colorado. They weren't supposed to open this, but John, the owner, said that it was good to open it for us. So Chris told me that I had to ask her to open it. Deep rich purple back. Beautiful blackberry and raspberry fruit and acids blended in such a way that they just permeate the palate twisting all around the tongue. Deeply rich. You have to try this wine. You will buy cases. We ended our tasting with a beautiful Muscato. Peaches and candied lemons on their nose. It's beautiful desert wind like the Muscato from Samos island in Greece. When you are done tasting all these wines, and you end with a Moscato, you've had the best experience of your life. Well, at least among the best. read more

Lori, our host, was Excellent. This is the only winery n Palisades that makes Albarino. Though the grapes come from Washington State the one is incredible. Hard to beat the view from their overlook area with shaded areas with chairs and panoramic views of the Bookcliffs and the vineyards. Amount my top two wineries in all of Palisades. read more

We went post COVID-19 re-opening so naturally the environment of every winery is different. Bookcliff has done a wonderful job keeping options for distancing and still keeping their good service. The wines were nice and we liked them enough to join the club. It's one of the best I've seen. You get to choose your own, good discounts, free tastings, % off, etc. I went back again with a friend about a month later and it was good to know they were sticking to the safety rules while still keeping up with their great attentiveness and tasty wine! I think it will evolve into an even better spot when some more permanent seating and perhaps shade/heat options like shade or heaters depending on the weather. The view is one of the best of all wineries and would be a wonderful addition to the experience. read more
