Drunken Noodles
Luis A.

This is a whole in the wall joint. It's worth stopping by. The place only has a few tables, but most customers order takeout, so there is always a table available. The food is great. My coworkers all tell me that the pad thai is their favorite dish. My favorite dish here is the Drunken Noodles. However, You can't go wrong with either one. Definitely stop by to try this place. It's worth it.

After reading all of the positive reviews about the donuts, I knew I had to give Carlson's a try. Since they're closed on Monday's and that's actually the best day for me to stop by, I ended up in the area on a Wednesday and stopped in around 10. Like everyone said in other reviews, the earlier you come, the better the variety of donuts to choose from. I came in and was greeted by a woman behind the counter. I purchased a 1/2 dozen of donuts. 3 twist glazed and 3 chocolate frosted. The store/restaurant itself was no thrills, just small and sort of hole in the wall-ish. I brought my purchase home and gave them a try. They were pretty good. The person I shared them with said the exact same thing, just pretty good. Were they the best donuts I've ever eaten like some of the other reviewers on here, absolutely not! They were a little bit above average. Soft, fresh, nice glaze, and a great size. I will say, they aren't that great the next day. So it's like a, eat them on the same day, type of thing. From other reviews. I was expecting mind blowing donuts. I didn't get that. I would I give them a try again if I were in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't make a special trip to come here just for their donuts. I will, however, come back to try their Thai food. That seems like something that would be wonderful. I'll just stick to my donut spot that's down the street and around the corner in Annapolis. Now they serve phenomenal donuts!

A Thai place and a donut place in the same spot? Yes please! Unfortunately we came in the morning so we only tried the donuts, not the Thai food. I was very pleased with my choices and considered giving it a five-star review, but I came to the conclusion that while I enjoyed my food I was not blown away. I try and reserve my five star reviews for places that completely floor me. What I got: Cronut - 5* this was my first cronut and I am a BIG fan. Airy like a croissant, sweet glaze like a donut. Pumpkin - 5* I thought this was the best flavor of their donuts (people in my party had chocolate, maple, and Boston cream and I sampled a small bite of each).

The donuts are delicious. Cash only for donuts FYI. These are the real deal and the size for the simple glazed ones is gigantic!

They have some of the best donuts I've ever had. Super fresh and delicious. It is $1.50 for a donut. We were in and out within 3 mins.

Ask the Community - Carlson's Donuts & Thai Kitchen

Are the donuts gluten free?

They had no donuts listed as gluten free on my visits, sorry. This is a truly old school small donut shop. Good luck on your search!

Do they participate in free donuts on national donut day?

Frankly, I doubt it. No harm in asking them though....

The food is delicious. And the secret is out because the place was packed with people and there were people waiting outside the door. So, you know that the food is good. Tonight, we ordered beef pad see ew. That is my son's favorite and he really enjoyed it. It was really tasty and full of flavor. We also ordered shrimp fried rice and that was delicious. The jumbo shrimp make this dish a real winner. We ordered grilled pork skewers for my grandson and they were tender and full of flavor. I always order my mango sticky rice. I forgot to take a picture. It was a great dessert. It took a little longer to get our meal, but service was excellent. We really liked each of our dishes. In Thai when you want to say thank you, you say Ca Cun! So, ca cun Kiin Imm Thai! See you soon!

Their drunken noodles are also somewhat superior to other drunken noodles. I'm not a big fan of pork belly but my husband is and he likes it. But even his favorite was the Thai boat noodle. Service was also pretty decent. Parking was easy since it's in a plaza there's a lot of parking options (free). But the reason for lower stars is just being way too hot in the restaurant. Not sure if their AC is broken or they can't turn the AC down anymore... or they're replicating the tropical temps of Thailand... it was uncomfortable eating in the heat. They had a fan that they turned toward us but it was still really hot and my husband kept wiping his sweat off his head and I was also sweating. I still like their food, but might think about takeout vs eating in next time.

Shout out to Dok Khao!!!…read more We are frequent take-out customers and visit when we can get out, usually to treat a special guest. Our standard order includes steamed dumplings which are ALWAYS amazing, do not miss. I will get a nice spicy Tom Yum soup, maybe some spring rolls to match. Nam Tok is a must every order. We usually round out with an order of chicken drunken noodles, some chicken green curry, the house pad Thai is rather good, the standard pad Thai is amazing as you would expect. Some other favorites are duck rolls. Red yellow and Penang curry are all excellent. So yeah, order in or stop by and enjoy the delicious bar offerings which are phenomenal. Our server was Chu who was attentive, offered great recommendations and accommodated all of our needs. Our drinks included the pomegranate lemonade which was on the sweeter side but refreshing. Thai ice tea was delicious, sweet but not too sweet. Midnight mermaid was tasty and doesn't taste strong liquor wise but slowly creeps up on you We started with the Bangkok wings and chive cakes. The wings were flavorful and chive cakes were mouth watering. Our entrees include the volcano seafood which had a lot of heat and nice combination of seafood. The lychee duck was sweet and savory and the duck was cooked to perfection. The Thai basil chicken bites were seasoned well and combined well with the fried rice . The cry baby noodles were similar to drunken noodles. Sauce has sweet and savory combination. Finally for dessert, we had an assortment which were all delectable. The chocolate cake was rich and paired well with the vanilla ice cream. The Thai ice crème brûlée was different and creamy. The mango sorbet was palette cleansing.
