Mind you, it's been a year since my last haircut so I was LOOOOONNNNNG overdue. It's been quite a year, 2017, and I wanted to go out with a bang. Out with the old, in with the bold - and a haircut is a great way to shake out all those bad vibes. When I sat in his chair, he asked what I wanted to do, and I was like - I want a side undercut. Yeah, I'm coming to you to shave my head. Not the whole head, mind you, just some. ;) And we agreed to keep the length long, with a slight layer to it. He did an AMAZING job. I'm totally obsessed with the undercut and it's something I've thought about getting for some time now. I knew I could trust him to see my "vision". And I also learned that my Aunt A. comes to him as well! I also got a clear glaze to lock in some shine for my dull winter hair and it really made my hair so silky and glorious. I seriously feel like a rockstar with my new look, and I feel ready to take on 2018. Carlton is kind and friendly, and a master of his craft. I would recommend him 1,000 percent.

Very friendly, fun, and most of all a great stylist. I don't even tell her what I want anymore, she just does her thing and it comes out looking great. It's only a few bucks more (which is still very reasonable) then your boring crew cut, and you don't look like everyone else when it is all said and done. Seriously thought they are great at what they do, and the new store is awesome. Definite recommend. Update: Increased from 4 to 5 stars. Five starts a reserved for things that are truly great. Since my first visit (resulting in my original review) they have managed to improve. Not so much in the hair cutting execution portion (that was aways top notch) but in the decor department. It's like walking into a cute little boutique that is also living room... Which is where you get to hang and chat until they are ready for you. Really nice overall experience.

She was attentive, flexible, and most importantly, SHE LISTENED. I was a devoted customer of a salon for years, but moved and it was just too far. So happy to have found a salon that uses high end products, knows what is current and will look good! Before I go into that I do need to praise Stanley because he is amazing at what he does. His layers are perfect and his work is an art. Last month I had an appt with Stanley but he was running an hour behind so the new people convinced me to try someone new..big mistake. My hair seemed ordinary once it was done but a few weeks later I realized how unevenly cut it was. I can't wear my hair down because it is so botched. I decided bleaching my own hair would be a good idea and then colouring it blue. Ummm, no. So I called for an appointment with sadness in my voice, wasn't feeling pretty at all. Sadly, they were booked for that day (Saturday) which I kinda expected as Saturdays are usually one of the busiest days in the beauty industry. Anyway, about 15 minutes later, the owner calls me back and said to come in at x time and she'll cut my hair and do my roots. We could handle the colour correction at a later appointment. I was so so excited and grateful! Tammy said I just sounded so sad and she just felt bad that they couldn't so she figured out a way to work me in. I could have cried! Arrived on time and she took one look and said "OK, we can fix this and we WILL fix this!" I love a woman with a can do attitude and plan. She made me a custom colour for my roots and she did some beauty magic in the back room and fixed my crazy blue bleachy hair. Then she got busy with her scissors and made my shortish fluffy hair tamed and ever so pretty. When I left, my whole heart was happy. I felt as pretty inside as my outside hair looked. We also made a plan for me to come and have a Keratin treatment with my next touch up. I did have it and loved it. I was worried about ending up with pin straight hair but it was not frizzy and still held my curls. Just love love Tammy and her team I also would like to say, I watched as Tammy taught her newest stylist (fresh out of beauty school) with a kindness and ease. The new stylist was doing really well but Tammy explained why a certain technique was used and why it helped the client. I really liked how she taught and still kept the appointment moving along. I was thoroughly confident in having the stylist do my blowout. I highly encourage you to visit Tammy and her fabulous team. They will listen and offer you suggestions based on their professional knowledge. Parking: a public lot across the street. Read the signage. Most of the time it's free but (I think) Farmer's Market Saturdays there is a fee. There is a lot somewhat behind the store, accessed through the street before the store. Paying: cash is preferred, as there is a small percentage fee charged if you use your credit or debit card (just what the bank charges them).
