There are some vintage items and antiques - but there's also a lot of unique art, fun bucolic yard items, a room full of denim, and a huge area full of antique books! It's a large, farmhouse style building but it's all on one floor. The shop was clean and well organized with a good flow and very relaxing colors - easy to meander. I had a nice chat with the owner (I think she was the owner) - and they were even giving away hand lotions on my visit. Parking is all street parking but ample. This shop sits just outside the Main Street strip of antique stores but on the corner so it's very walkable from the main area and well worth a stop.

It's super cute and historical - complete with its own walking tour! Aurora is a hidden gem - and is less 30 minutes south of Portland! The city is pretty small so it's definitely doable as a day trip depending on how long you want to spend antique-hunting. I've never seen so many antique stores in one place - there are at least 10 within walking distance, and a lot more if you include the ones outside of the quaint little Main Street area. PRO TIP: don't visit on a Monday though - as tons of the shops and restaurants are closed oddly enough. The city centers around historical Main Street which is pleasantly walkable and offers clean public restrooms and picnic tables to take a break on. It also offers a really interesting self-guided walking tour of the historic buildings and town called the "Emma Walk" and you can find it online here: https://olis.oregonlegislature.gov/liz/2013R1/Downloads/FloorLetter/460 Another little fun fact - Aurora is the home of Life Flight - the largest nonprofit air ambulance company in the country - who knew?!! There are lots of cute boutique hotels and restaurants in the area - as well as major chains in nearby Wilsonville if that's your thing. Every summer they have a fun festival called Colony Days. The town is easy to find - right off I-5. And there's lots of public parking in the Main Street area. Aurora is really a true hidden gem - I'd never heard of it and only stumbled upon it after digging around on Google looking for a fun place to stay on my way out of Oregon that's close enough to PDX but not inside the city lol. The shop is run by several lovely people dedicated to giving back, as demonstrated by the pile of free items on the side of the store. Not only did I buy the sofa, but I left with a huge bag of items I couldn't pass up. Great prices & people. Willamina is an adorable town with shops and restaurants. When shopping in the men's section, which isn't very large, I found multiple opportunities to improve thrifting for the customer. Parking was easy. 1. Remove all the empty hangers. 2. Sort by size and type of shirt. 3. I would charge one price for all the T-shirts and skip staple prices on them . 4. Encourage staff to button the top button on dress shirts to reduce the number of shirts ending up on the floor. If you know your brands and prices, you can do quite well here with a little bit of digging. As long as it continues to look kind of junky, it will keep the prices lower, so I guess that's not necessarily a bad thing, right!?

This is a smaller store and organizing is clumsy, but I have found some great stuff. Mac is tops for vintage dishes, decor, books...really anything your grandparents would have, or what you would expect to find at an estate sale, and that remains true for St. Vinny's. Some of my favorite finds: a vintage wool Pendleton button up, malachite dish, framed embroidery, like-new coffee maker, and various rain jackets and muck boots sourced for guests unprepared for pnw weather. I also almost always can find a variety of mason jars here. DVDs are $1 (as compared to Goodwill's $2.99), and they have a very large selection, books too, especially considering their demure size. Prices are stapled to clothing. I don't like it, but I have nabbed several nicer shirts and sweaters for my husband around $5 each, and he sure doesn't care about a staple hole if one occurs. I think clothes can be surprisingly good here, if only because the selection appears so lame and people discount the possibility of finding anything good. There is a bit of furniture, a lot of small kitchen appliances, a great little craft section, even a place for pet supplies. Again, I think it just looks like you won't find anything, so treasures are hidden here because no one hunts for 'em! As a bonus, prices are some of the lowest of our area thrift stores and definitely less than Goodwill.

Lots and lots of dishes, serving pieces, glassware and utensils. They have some complete utensil sets and some where they are still collecting all of the pieces. Obviously they love a good hunt! They also had individual knives, spooNw and forks you can buy if you need replacements, which I do. Fell in love with the vintage blue onion Danube China displayed in mass on a China cabinet. My mother had the same China; she ate her soft boiled egg every morning from an egg holder just like the one they had displayed. Memories came flooding back! I had to snap pics to send to my brother, who remembered the dishes but had no idea it was china! For me, that's why I love going to antique stores. It's not only about finding a treasure to purchase, but the memories that are awakened when you happen upon an item you didn't even think about for decades until you see it on a shelf, somehow standing out amongst the hundreds of items surrounding it. - The ornate crystal decanters with silver caps and handles? Yep, my Nana had three of them. - The coffee table where you could display needlework under the glass? My grandmother proudly displayed her talents there. - The champagne fur jacket? My mom had one just like it! - The light blue princess telephone? My first phone with a "teenage" line I shared with my brother. Yes, there was such a thing back in the day. Wish I had kept it! That shade of blue is still my favorite color. Antique stores are as much about these moments of remberence that ignite smiles as they are about purchasing something. I left without buying anything but was warmed by the memories my visit ignited.

They have a variety of antique home ware items. I really love the China in my parents and grandparents homes and this store had many of their patterns, plus Wedgewood, vintage Ball jars in different colors and silver pieces which looked to be in beautiful condition. They also had some beautiful jewelry made out of old silverware, including a necklace that I bought. The sales woman I talked to was super friendly. This store was a nice surprise finding stood out to me amongst the other antique stores we visited in the area.
