I got a STEAL of a deal on a gorgeous mercury glass Christmas tree. They also had new items and I picked up a pack of beautiful non-paper towels. What a fun place! It's massive, so plan your time accordingly. The staff was friendly and helpful. Each booth is in charge of setting their own prices and I found that most booths are priced pretty fair. If you love corningware and pyrex like I do this place is awesome. One of my favorite places to find special "treasures". After a morning of cherry picking; I love to come here and stroll around to find new additions to my eclectic collections. Most of the booths are fairly priced and there seems to be an ever changing inventory! I will comment that there seems to be an emphasis on glassware. Not my "thing". I love dolls and literally anything that has to do with sewing & sewing machines, buttons, patterns & fabrics. This is another great antique mall on Highway 99. The business sold recently and the new staff is very friendly. The building is cool as it's an old schoolhouse. One unique thing here is they have a large selection of antique furniture and a number of different items. I found a hall tree. The store is 3 floors and a number of vendors which gives all kinds of different choices. Another place worth a stop on Highway 99! read more

update: after about a year, i can just say that i love this place so much! at first antiques were new to me but now i drop by this place a couple times a month. its just so nice to see whats there; new things come and go and the staff moves items around. theres always new things being added and the displays are beautifully organized. its an antique store that really is antique. read more

I like this antique mall, like, not love. It is a huge store with dozens of vendors. I have found a few good items here over the years, most recently several vinyl records. My biggest gripe about the place is the ongoing bug infestation they have going on, it is gross. read more

I grew up in the area and always passed by the yellow schoolhouse but haven't stopped in in years. While in town a few days ago, I finally stopped in and explored. I wasn't disappointed! They have a vast selection of antiques and have sections/mini shops by different vendors, so you have a bit of everything. Disney memorabilia, vintage postcards, quality furniture, Native American portraits, creepy dolls, milk glass, Nancy Drew books...I bought an adorable Kewpie doll for $5 and a Dana Girls (by Carolyn Keene) mystery book. You can easily spend a couple hours combing through the schoolhouse, which is an awesome building to admire in itself. read more

Really enjoyed the use of an old school house to set up the antique mall and I especially love the fire escape slide and classroom numbers still intact. The merchandise was a lot of fun to look at and they have a lot of vendors there with great stuff. A lot of the items I thought were a bit pricey for what they were or based on the condition of the item. It appears that the antique sellers err on the highest amount for their items. I also get the impression that there might not be any room for haggling or making offers but I could be wrong. The employees here are constantly present which is nice if you have a question or need help with something but over time they hover and linger which made me feel like they thought I was going to break something or even worse swipe something. I am more used to shopping and browsing without a "watchful" eye or several in this case. The one major gripe that I have which could be handled with a call to an expert is that they have a weird bug/flying black small beetle thing problem. In one area of the mall on the top level it is very rampant. These things were hovering over all of the florescent lighting and there were dead ones on the ground and inside items for sale. To be honest, I wasn't too bothered at first and then I noticed that every pyrex dish I handled had a dead bug in it and then I started to get the feeling that they were flying into me and grazing parts of my body. I hate that creepy-crawly feeling. If you love antique shopping and searching for retro stuff then this place even with the bugs, I would still say this place is worth a visit. read more

I love the Lafayette School House. First of all, how fun is it that this antique mall is housed in an old school? It's perfectly atmospheric. Also, there's the convenience factor. Right next door is Rick's Antiques, a warehouse featuring a carefully curated selection of sideboards and tables and chairs and so much more. See my review of Rick's, too. But, back to the School House. Inside, it's your typical antique mall--lots of vendors with lots of interesting artifacts. You'll need to allot at least two hours to explore it properly. In my experience, there seem to be less "decorator" caliber antiques and more actual antiques, which is a pleasure. Even my non-antique-loving husband found a lot to enjoy. read more

Set aside 1.5-2 hours to get through this schoolhouse turned into tourist friendly antique mall. Parking in back and you can enter from the front or the back door your choice. A great assortment of items. Two floors with classrooms and a basement full. A little bit of everything! jewelry, some clothing items, lots of glass of all shapes sizes and forms. Dolls ,Bric-a-Brac, signs, pictures, retro house items, kids toys and more! Check out the photo section for more information. Friendly helpful service no problems.We didn't see any bugs that some of the other reviewers had mentioned about. Were they talking about stink bugs? I don't know. Rude staff, one employee was clipping his nails in the open. A younger employee followed me around EVERYWHERE! I tried to make polite conversation and he couldn't even look me in the eye, just on his phone and said nothing but one word replies. Lots of glassware and over priced crap. Purchased two items for $220.00 on 1/19/19. On 2/5/19 they charged my card $220.00 twice for a total $440.00. My issue is they need to hire employees who know what they are doing. And when I called them to talk about the transactions the man kept interrupting me with "exasperated sighing". Dealing with incompetence is hard enough, without having to put up with a total lack of professionalism or lack of any customer service! We won't be back. read more

Vendors read this: the store policy of not contacting you with best offers under $200 is just plain silly. While staff amble about asking if they can help, your wares sit in the only antique mall I've EVER been to unwilling to consider or call vendors with reasonable offers. I tried to buy a group of books that totaled close to but less than $200. I was unable to make an offer. No books for me, no sale for the vendor, no help from the store. Silly policy? A must stop for the antique hunters out there. We had stopped several times on previous trips to and from the coast but prior to my visit on 2/7/2020, I had read the reviews and was wondering what had happened since the last time I was there a few years ago as rating were dismal in recent reviews. Glad I did not skip visiting on my trip through the area this week. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I did not feel uneasy as others had written. When checking out with my purchases I noticed a sign that stated business was under new ownership and when asking found that the new owner has had business less than one year. Seems like a good change based on previous posts. Lots of fun looking through the many booths. read more

My husband and I drove from Portland today to Lafayette specifically to look for a piece of furniture, have lunch and make a nice day of it. How ever, I don't know when I've ever been treated so badly by clerks at any store. They were rude and seemed to want us to leave. When we took the piece out in the light, I could see that the front leg had broken off and been repaired and also the whole top had been replace with a poor, not of the same style desk top. Because of this I asked if she could contact the owner and ask if he might be willing to lower the price a bit. Her response was just ...no, not I'll try or I'm sorry we can't do that, nothing. Then, they started following us around like we were going to steal something and when my husband came out of the bathroom he was going to offer to carry the desk back to Ricks next door for them, but she was waiting outside the door to tell him ... bye now, basically telling him she wanted him to leave. I have no idea what the hell was going on but I know he felt they could jolly well carry back themselves. In case they are unfamiliar with how professionals treat customers in retail settings they need only visit some antique stores in Portland like Monticello or even the Coin and tool shop in Lafayette!. I'm pretty sure the vendors and owners of the property don't want customers run off. Don't worry , I intend to tell all my friends who frequent antique stores about the experience. This place is HUGE. Three floors packed with treasures. The basement floor is all furniture, which we weren't interested in but still enjoyed perusing. The second floor appeared to be mostly glassware and kitchenware (which I love, but sadly have no use for an etched crystal ladle or a 1950's thermos). The upper floor was more trinket-y type of stuff, ornaments and records, toys. We thoroughly enjoyed browsing, but sadly all we left with was a Garfield Christmas ornament. I went here about a month ago -- and came like 1.5 hours before it closed. Well, you need more time than that to navigate this place. And as the witching, errrrr, closing hour approached -- all the semi-scary workers began rounding up the usual suspects, errrrr, patrons. I'd never felt as hurried as I was to leave a place of business before. It's as if they didn't care if you were gonna spend a $1,000 or not -- they wanted to go home! Anyway, on each floor -- they had a worked roaming about -- in constant movement -- which kinda of makes you uneasy -- and feel like a suspect. Whateva. But if you like antiques and lots of them, then this is the place. On the lower bottom level -- they have some reasonably priced furniture. And next door to the main school house -- is a whole "gym" full of old furniture -- also reasonably priced. Anyway, like I said, I went here about a month ago. Then yesterday we stopped by at 330pm, because we were looking to purchase an item out of that "gym" -- but it was closed at 330pm! Weird! Isn't it summer and people are out and about???? Why would it be closed at 330pm??? Overall, this place is worth the trip -- just show up well before closing. read more

My husband and I found this store 6 years ago. We plan our annual Oregon vacation around this antique store! We love it. I agree with the other review in that you must give yourself plenty of time, because it's huge and has a lot of merchandise. That's the only thing I agree with. The staff constantly follows customers around. I have been here three times and each time I felt more like a suspected shop lifter then a potential customer. The prices are fair but the way they follow everyone around is terrible. It makes me want to go elsewhere, anywhere but there. I hope they read this and get wise and treat their customers better. read more
